Wow, you saved me from a costly plumbers visit. I replaced the filter that my plumber suggested but there wasn't a change, still leaking just like yours was. Was ready to try to take off the metal lid like yours when I noticed that the drain pipe has a clean out on the top. I unscrewed it and it was filled with water. Pushed a electrical fish wire through a few times and voila' the water came rushing out into the drain pump and was ejected. Hopefully my problem is now gone. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Not a maintenance person, live in Anchorage, Alaska- have a leak from garage ceiling, know the maintenance guy said there was a problem with condensate pipe, very concerned about structure & mold being in the townhouse am renting, had smelled mildew mainly where moisture was collecting into area above garage, below bedroom. Now our heating system is not heating our unit since the vapor/moisture leak was fixed. What else should we be concerned about? Our housing authority isn’t fixing the issue, we told them about leak 5/2021 that wasn’t fixed till 10/2022- now since 10/2022 we have had serious issue being COLD! It’s below freezing & home is stuck around 58/60 degrees F since winter started!
@TheGreenAcreWI Жыл бұрын
I'd call in a HVAC expert to access the situation and get it corrected ASAP, especially if there's mold present. Then deal with your housing authority back paying you for the repairs. Your health and safety is more important than fighting the authority to deal with it in a timely fashion.

I'm having a similar problem right now, but my drain line still drains while the unit is running, but im still hopeful its a blockage somewhere along one or two of the lines, theres a total of 3 lines that converge to the drain outlet. Thanks for the vid!
@TheGreenAcreWI Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you may have to isolate the drain hoses and inspect for individual partial clogs in the lines.
@adamrasmussen9939 Жыл бұрын
@TheGreenAcreWI yea, after I turned the relays off and I popped the line that was directly below the incoming lines from the condenser, I got 2 full 16oz cups from it, with some little bits of rust/debris, too. It also drained out a lot quicker than the actual drain outlet does, so I think there's some heavy clogging between the two places.

The exact same thing happened to me. The primary clogged and it started leaking out the threads of the red plug in the secondary. Not understanding that the red was a secondary drain they never utilized, i put teflon on a new cap and sealed off the secondary. I didnt stop to think about why the primary was clogged in the first place so two weeks later my pan overflowed all over the furnace below it. After that i unclogged the primary and instslled the exacg same nylon elbow with some clear tubing to the secondary so now i keep an eye on that secondary tube and if it ever gets water in it i know its time to ckean the primary. I see you still have the same red plug in your secondary. I would suggest screwing in a nylon elbow and tube into that secondary one as well.

Can anyone tell me if I can replace my primary pan that is leaking due to a crack. Model FSM4X3600A from 2008 so yes 15 years is pushing it in a humid, unconditioned attic.. I can get the pan delivered to my door for $110. A service provider is quoting $800 to replace, but unsure if they have to remove the evap coils first or not which would push the cost much higher. It's too old and rusty to spend money replacing evaporator coils. It is cooling fine. I'd spec the $110, maybe even $800 if it meant I could kick the can down the road and replace this in a few years. Anyone know if this unit's primary pan can be replaced w/o removing the coils, and something I could do myself with no HVAC skills to speak of, but I know how to turn off a breaker and give it s shot!
