Why is My NEW Budgie Not Eating, Quiet or Shaking?

My new budgie didn't move, eat, drink. I just played a budgie sounds from KZbin, a couple of hours for couple of days and that was it. He started to act like a normal budgie. Recommend that to everyone with new, especially young bird.

@@lpowergaming2393 how long have you had him for? it took mine about 2 and a half days to eat. make sure he can see his food bowl and stuff. also make sure he's comfortable and stuff like don't make too many loud noises around him yk. but eventually he's gonna eat as long as he sees its food. budgies don't starve themselves unless they are really sick

My daughters new budgie shakes his tail feathers and immediately comes to her when she sees her and jumps in her hand if she offers it. Been eating ok but overall shakes still and prefers the bottom of the cage. We have had him for 4 days, I know he was not feeling well and has visited the vet already and is going back on Monday. He was being picked on by the other birds that he was with and he seemed to bond with my daughter. I hope he makes it.

Though the best solution to this is: get 2 budgies! Watch the budgies whereever you intend to get them and see if you can find some that are already bonded. Two of my budgies were already grooming each other at the pet store. They still needed time to adjust but are now super happy in a flock of 6!

It can be helpful to get a pair in the first place, because they would most likely know each other and will feel safer this way, but they might still go through some of the symptoms I mentioned in the video such as not sitting in the same spot for hours or not eating as they adjust to their nee surroundings.

I just got a bird a few days ago and he’s comfortable with me, hops on my finger etc. But, he still hasn’t drank water!! What can I do? I know this because his water is at the same level. Hey, budgies drink 5 ml of water a day. It means a couple sips maybe three or four times a day. Many budgie owners thinks their birds don't drink but budgies can't live for more than a couple days without water. If your budgie's droppings look normal, then everything sounds good

My friend got a young budgie as a gift and was in a box all night so I put it in the cage this morning, picked it up as it was quite calm and gave it some water from a dropper, just nervous it would become dehydrated. It drank but hasn't eaten yet. It allows me to pick it up fine , doesn't move at all and doesn't protest at all. It's a very young bird, I hope I haven't done the wrong thing? My budgies(in a cage with a single Cockatiel), are much happy with real wood perches, not from a store. I go outside and get a few tree-branches. They love peeling the bark from them, and feels more natural. They all sit together on a window, with the Sun, warming them. In-the-cage, they all have their own territory. No trespassing allowed. Which means several food & water dishes.

My budgies made no noise whatsoever when I got them nor did they move. 6 months I tried every day but No matter how much I tried to gain there trust it didn’t work :(. I gave them away to a budgie aviary as they weren’t happy.They were almost feral? I know I should’ve tried longer but I had exams. Don’t buy birds from a pet shop.. Don’t worry, I have learned that once you first get a bird it will be afraid/ getting used to it’s surrounding. So it will not eat or drink for a few days. It’s probably to late to say this now 😂
