Why Is My Toilet Running When Not In Use

There is a simple test you can do.
It's called a dye test for your toilet. We have special dye tablets.
But you can go to any grocery store and get food coloring.
In this video I show you how to check it your flapper is bad test is water is leaking from your tank to your bowl.

It doesn't always mean the flapper is leaking. It could be overflowing into the overflow pipe. No plumber is needed. Simply tighten a screw or bend a rod connected to the float. That's it!

Ok, what if the water is NOT blue (meaning the flapper is good) but the Toilet tank still periodically refills?

You need to change your fill value. It's leaking past the diagram. Into the overflow tube. Wich plumbs to the bowl. The water would be clear. Because the overflow works as a separator. Keeping the blue in tank. come to my channel. Subscribe I'll tell more.

could be that sediment had built up on the part that the rubber flapper rests on...cleaning that area with a rag can allow it to seal again
