Before finding these lenses my go-to for character was the Hellios 44-2 - an oldie but a goodie!

Never heard of these before, Shane. They look good but like you mentioned, at that price that too from a lesser-known brand, I personally would go with the Dulens APO primes. The Dulens are a little slower at 2.4 but I think it is not a huge difference. The Dulens have similar flares as well.

Indeed, Taylor had the Dulens set and we did like them very much!

Can't lie, I really loved the images. But from a lesser known lens, it's always hard to know how much is on the lens and how much is on the user. At twice the price of a Nisi Athena or DZO Vespid, it's a big leap of faith to get. A side to side comparison with other lenses would be very much appreciated, but I'm not sure if it would be possible

We do review other lenses... we unfortunately don’t have access to those ATM, but it doesn't mean we haven't used them. I can say that these are some of the nicest we’ve personally used in this price range by a fair bit.

Man, I really love my APO Microprimes from SLR Magic

I love SLR Magic lenses. I have the full set of 4 original APO lenses 25,32,50,85 and combines with my EVA-1 particular look I'm getting great images that clients love. I also have their anamorphic 1.33 adaptor that I use on my projector for anamorphic projection. That lens is on par with $5-8K lenses sold for projection. Id' love to see they come out with more lenses, but there is so much competition. Looks at buying Catta Ace for when zooms are needed. I feel they'll intercut better than the Tokina photo zooms I currently use ( the 11-20 and 50-135 use same glass as cinema version at a much cheaper price)

I think in that mix of vintage / but still sharp, I'd rather rent cooke SP3. (rented 2 times and man, I'm in love) Cool review !!!

These are a bit faster and obviously cheaper, but the Cookes are nice!!

When you say SLR Magic, which series are you referring to?
@TheFilmGuyOfficial Жыл бұрын
SLR magic micro primes cine lenses for e mount, Tayloe (me) owns them

@@TheFilmGuyOfficialoh okay gotcha. I was wondering if you were referring to the APO Microprimes, because those are spectacular lenses. Similar to the NITECORE at an even better budget
@TheFilmGuyOfficial Жыл бұрын
I like the APOs, but they dont have the same character the microprimes do, so I was less interested. @@christopherduran9926

@@TheFilmGuyOfficialI’m so surprised to hear you say that, I feel like that’s the first time I’ve heard someone say they prefer the microprimes over the APOs

Hey there, where can I watch the short with the S1H + the Nitecores?
