Everybody thinks a bigger court is better until they have a teammate who is a liability on defense. All it takes is 1 bad teammate. You can rotate/help on defense all you want, but all it takes is a simple pass and it's another wide open look. Unless you're playing on a team with communication, a bigger court with an unorganized team is a recipe for disaster.

That’s how it should be. However, I think the community is going to try and force it to still be a thing with 3-2 Zone. It’s going to be a lot harder to play zone this year sure, but 3-2 seems to be the only zone that could even possibly work

I don’t know yet Unc. It sounds good, but I’m curious how it’ll look. As an old player I remember how “small” models looked, and loved the evolution of “bigger” model players. I’m not sure I want to go back to PS1 sized players. So I hope it’s actually the ratio is better and the players don’t actually look small. If that makes sense.

Oh and for context, i have 60+ tv screen. I usually search for the camera that zooms closer to my player because I feel it’s still too small now. I like MyPlayer camera and drive and 2k the least. But I use 2k cause it allows me to see more of the court, but I loathe it. So if the players look smaller, it’ll feel like I’m going back in time and it would be a serious L for me.

I honestly don’t really care if a game looks more arcade like as long as the gameplay it good as in spacing I shouldn’t be able to double a big man on the block and come back out to contest a 3 pt shot I do it way too often. Sometimes I tell one of my teammates to chase the ball handler because I can guard 2 people at once and the ball should always move faster then the player! If a bigger court and smaller people accomplish this that’s a huge W but I respect your opinion I just care about the way the game is played

@@xapestylex7219 you made a good point that I don’t think people are talking about. The points required to speed up your passing. If the court is bigger, will they speed up passes or will we have to spare too many points to do so? Cause THAT’s the real problem. Even the sorriest passer can throw that ish fast, it just may be off target. But defenders are able to close in so quickly because the ball takes way too long to get to its target.

@@RahmanF0004 I think they should make dimer or needle threader give a slight boost to pass speed or at least quicker animations so it doesn’t take long to pass the ball depending on passing attributes. most of my builds normally have a 76 bare minimum pass accuracy.

@@xapestylex7219 yes and no. I was told dimer does. I don’t see it though, and needle should just get the ball into tight spaces. But you shouldn’t need a badge to pass faster. I don’t go lower than 79 on passing, but I have builds that are higher and I still telegraph all my passes, that’s elementary ball. 2k depends on the defense to get this stupid “pause” animation for people who have dimer. Who ever gets stuck on a pass???? That never happens, unless the ball just misses your face, then you might have a “wtf moment.” The only time I pass fast is if I touch pass and even then I get pulled into an animation first sometimes and throw it away. So speed that thang up period. And give us a better highlight when someone has the ball if they’re concerned we won’t see it.

I’ve been playing 2K heavy since 15. So much that you could change the name of my console from Xbox to 2Kbox. I have to say everything they’ve shown with 2k25 looks amazing. Gameplay looks so much better than anything they’ve ever released. Everything they’re saying about the game sounds so much better than anything they’ve ever released. It genuinely seems that they have put in a ton of work to improve gameplay this year. With all that said, I still refuse to buy the game this year!! They been scamming us for way long, and getting away with it. F@CK 2K!!

2k24 is a game that rewards you for gambling on defense. No more hedging on the hash while being able to get a contest deep corner. So a bigger court might work but I miss the freeze mechanic players use to get when they gambled on defense because they couldn’t recover back to their man lol.

I'm sure it'll be an adjustment. But honestly I liked the way everything was closer... if I wasn't guarding ball I liked how I could be in corner (guarding) and felt like I contributed with the help defense around those edges. If everything is wider or whatever will be more sitting in 1 position in iso situations. I'm up for either way as long as it's balanced. Doesn't favor offense or defense

this is good because it makes people learn how to play help side defense. also it won’t bail out the defense if the ball handler gets open ( they won’t be able to close out fast ) plus it rewards good offensive plays and players

It would help if defenders jump in the direction their momentum is taking them. I use hop jumpers in the midrange. I can sell the drive perfectly, the defender thinks I’m going for a floater. Their momentum is going towards the basket and they try blocking the floater. I go for a hop jumper in the opposite direction but they get bailed out by 2k switching their players momentum and letting them jump backwards to contest my middy.

To answer your question, I don’t care. Spacing sucked in 24 because people were going 1/11 from 3 for most of the year 😂 I think I’ll appreciate the court & player model changes but my hopes for 2k25 are extremely low. Wouldn’t be surprised if I only play until that first game breaking patch they do every year. Then I’m off to Eras.

lol he was definitely wrong but off balling in 2k24 is weak considering how elite the AIs are this year. 2k gave folks ALL the right tools this year to play defense and Mfs still choose to offball. Of course there are ways to score on the ai but you have to rely on cheese LOL! (Hopsteps, spin move jumpers, cuts).

Bro it's just simple.. if you play in the rec omg 5 ppl on the court is SO CROWDED... Two weeks ago they had a live event to scout for new 2k league players and it was 5 on 5 IN THE THEATER like games. Bro with how clunky the gameplay is I played one game and quit immediately. You didn't have room to breathe or pass let alone shoot. Players guarding the paint and getting to the 3 for a contest before you even get the shot off. It was terrible... I think bigger courts is an absolute W . It's one of the main reasons I'm willing to buy this game and give it one more try
