I am from Costal Karnataka usually in the month of August there would be continuous rain but this time it is like summer in monsoon. The weather pattern has changed a lot. The excess rain happening in Himachal had to be over here. The most important reason for this is destruction of western ghats in the name of some useless development program in that area. In the name of ETTINA HOLE scheme the number of trees destroyed is huge that there is no count on it and it will not stop and we need to just keep on seeing these things and destroy the nature🙂

Mountain walls are said to reduce landslides. When we cut mountains for infrastructure, the loose soil needs external support from slipping down hill. Contractors don't build it to prevent additional costs.

Most of the buildings in Shimla are unauthorized. The government had issued guidelines that the people are allowed to make only three storey buildings yet most of the buildings have more than three floors. Yes, corruption is the reason for illegal construction in shimla and also because of the smart city project dumping has also increased. I pray that that Himachal recovers from the sorrow that these landslides and floods have caused.

heart quenching video. i am an extreme traveler, a passionate mountaineer. i was stuck in this flood in sainj valley in himachal during 9th july, for a month i was stuck due to damaged roads. hydro project dam was responsible for damage in sainj village, being a mountain lover i saw damage rite in front of me. mountains must be treated with compassion too, its true that human actions are responsible for floods in mountains. informative video. i hope msg reaches out to people . thanks for making this video. god bless

Baddi, Himachal has the highest number of Pharmaceutical industries. The no. is so big that India is the highest manufacturer of medicines. And the transportation was affected because the linked route to chandigarh (via pinjore) broke due to heavy rainfalls.

When I was in 12th class, we had a subject called Environmental studies (not sure about current subjects) and I remember most of the time the teacher would be absent and a physics or maths teacher would rush in to finish the syllabus of their subject as they often unfortunately thought "ye environment vagera padke kya hoga, these are useless." I would often get disappointed as I really enjoyed studying environmental studies. Now, the issue is most of us never had the mindset to understand and give importance to environmental issues and that is very clearly evident amongst the masses whether they are the authorities or even a lot of common people. Very well-articulated video and I completely agree💯. Also, we need to educate people regarding this serious topic and find ways to teach people in an interesting way so that they learn.

I am central govt employee living in Shimla. Living here i have realised it's really not a feasible town to be made the capital of a state. Our work doesn't even require us to live here and there after about 2-3k employees like me... I.e. about 15k people unnecessarily increasing the load on mountains without even their choice. I hope the govt decision makers get some sanity and move as much as possible people out of Hills
