Even b4 seeing this I would like to say that one thing I always appreciated that my parents did was NEVER to Ever make color an issue at all. They loved all people regardless of color, disabilities or language. They were far from perfect but I really appreciate their kindness to all

Thank you for talking about this awkward topic!! The thing about our modern society (and in some modern churches) is that “modern” prejudice is SUBTLE. Racism can definitely be within a church, but modern “Christians” who tend to be prejudice are usually subtle, but rarely obvious or blatant in this day and age, like racism was many years ago. But those subtle “digs” against some groups also need to be addressed and prayed about because it’s still racism through and through, and can still hurt others and hurt the cause of Christ. It’s interesting, when the topic of racism comes up among believers, it’s pretty predictable that the groups who are the “minority” are anxious to discuss the topic because they’ve been frustrated and hurt by prejudice within a church setting. But the “majority” racial group in a church setting usually do not want to discuss it, perhaps because 1) they feel comfortable due to their group being the majority in that church, and 2) they don’t want to be challenged, lest they have to confront the prejudices within themselves! And since “majority rules,” the topic of racism in the church never ends up getting addressed! And if a person (whether in the majority group or minority group) desires to bring up the topic, they get MAJOR push back, some even getting scolded for wanting to even address racism!! That’s just what the “enemy” wants!! How a church responds to the subject of prejudice in the church also depends on what part of the country you live in. For instance, extremely ethnically diverse states in the USA tend to be more at ease in churches that are very diverse. I grew up in such a state and many churches in California tend to have 10-20 or more different types of ethnic groups in one church! The author is right that we must discuss racism in the church more, not in a condemning way but approach it in an honest and constructive way, willing to humbly LISTEN and learn from our brothers and sisters who perhaps have gone through some rejection in church settings that others have not gone through. And those who have been rejected in a church must also forgive, as Christ told us to in His Word.

Very well said👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 but we have to pray without ceasing for a peace and a 2 Chronicles 7:14 healing across this land. As long as there is no repentance unfortunately there is no forgiveness and no room for a compassionate heart towards all mankind. We just have a majority with heightened energy about abortions, vaccines and CRT but no repentance for burning and killing living human beings less than 65 years ago. That’s the age of Boomers. The years of the 1960’s wasn’t that long ago as the majority in the church and outside the church continues to turn their faces away from their biggest sin. Unfortunately the confusion and division and distrust will continue until we repent and forgive.

Years ago my husband and I moved to Portland Oregon. We were looking around for a church. We went a church fairly close to our house that we found out was all black. I was fine with this because I have always thought we are all created equal under heaven by God and I have never been prejudice. However after attending this church for about a month it was clear to both my husband and me we were not wanted there. No one talked to us or shook our hands. Not even the pastor unless we soecifically went up to him and then he acted uncomfortable. We were hurt and upset. We quit going to that church. I was heart broken. I know God does want this either.

I am so sorry that you felt rejection. I too have felt rejection from Christians. I pray that the Holy Spirit will bring to their memory how they rejected us and convict their hearts to repentance. If not, I fear they will face God on judgment day and have to answer for their treatment of a fellow family member in the body of Christ.

Anyone from any group can be racist. Portland is an interesting city. Even today, it’s about 90% white. And historically it actually had a very active KKK group about 80-100 years ago. I wonder if the reaction you received from Blacks at that church was a defense mechanism based on negative past experiences they’ve had with some whites in Portland? Still, as Christians, they should have been more welcoming to you and your husband.

I grew up in a home where all were welcome no matter the color of their skin or background. In the Christian community most especially I don't understand WHY Racism is a thing. There really are only THREE kinds of people in the world: GOOD, EVIL and LOST. All 3 do not discriminate as to race, ethnicity, gender, religion, etc. Until people truly embrace this TRUTH, it's going to be impossible to stop the madness.

I also grew up in a very ethnically diverse area of the country, and many evangelical churches there are open to many types of people! But I now live in an area of the US that is mostly white, and wow, many white Christians in that state really struggle with truly loving persons of other races/ethnicities! The women seem to show their disproval of minorities even more than the men. It’s kind of awful…… 💔

So true and many people don’t think about we say it in the Lord’s prayer and get after he was finishing teaching the Lord’s prayer he said this if we forgive men their trespasses our father in heaven and will forgive us if we do not forgive me their trespasses neither will our father in heaven forgive us and he didn’t qualify it by the sense that may have been promulgated I say promulgated for a reason against us because he knows what we live through God is also love it’s that his existence love and if we began to attach ourselves to that concept of love and what was sacrificed for us we can begin to see each other in a different way

We must remember that the church religious orders I’ve been guilty of some of the greatest racism on the earth church against church it has caused the death warring among people we only have to look at the history of humanity and no the kinds of things that have happened and this is an important thing to teach people if we are trying to worship God and we are fighting against one another within the framework of faith and believe all how great the difficulty yes in and this is a breach that needs to be healed for Jesus has come for us all and he is proving even threw his out reach to Islam fulfilling the covenant to AbramIshmael that we are a brotherhood of peoples and we need to look to him we all need Jesus we all need to come to understand and know him but looking at the history of humanity me know that separatism and faith has been at the root of many many forms of racism

A life that is not controlled by sin and sinful desires is a life that is not controlled by satan. A life that is controlled by sins and sinful desires is a life of filthiness, impurity, unrighteousness, blasphemy, rebellion, idolatry, sexual immorality, arrogance , and the like. Believers of Jesus Christ are those whose lives are controlled and supervised by the spirit of the living God. The spirit of the living God is Holy, and his holiness lives in the lives of all followers of Jesus Christ. A follower of Jesus Christ is a follower of Holiness and purity, a follower of Jesus Christ will not do or say anything that will hurt his fellow human being. ~ Christopher Orji

@@annemurphy9339 But do you blame Black Christian’s for the mistrust ?? you had a whole history based on apartheid for many years so many people suffered in slavery lynchings etc, so many southern Christian families owned slaves and used the Bible to do this Remember so please understand the mistrust. Both groups need Christ’s healing, only God can bring this.

@@annemurphy9339 Disclaimer: I step on every groups “toes!” Yes there are some Blacks who are bitter and vengeful and REFUSE to forgive, though Jesus commands us to! But there are some whites who, deep in their soul are still very racist as well. Also, Hispanics and Asians; etc. can be racist too (as in those racist Hispanic L.A. city council people in Fall 2022) because as the author in the video said, “racism is not a skin problem, it’s a SIN problem.” ALL groups have sinned in terms of racism and being tribal, and all must repent and TURN FROM such sin, because a Judgement Day is coming soon, for each of us. 🙏

@@culturalobserver8721 Sister, amen. There are always those who don’t like Asians, or Mexicans, blacks, whites, etc, etc, etc. It’s tragic but true, and how this evil world system tries to inflame hatreds and drive wedges to keep everyone divided. The good news is in Yeshua ha’Mashiach we are one family and headed to glory with Christ for all eternity. I truly believe we are living in the very last seconds of the church age. God bless!

@@appleofhiseye6385Exactly!! It’s hard to be on one accord when non-blacks are promoting the longevity of only their race NOT the Kingdom of God. Look at the Tulsa Massacre of 1921 still no apologies; now outsiders capitalize off the destruction & mass killing of black people. Most politicians, law enforcement and people of the Church have fallen short in their bias, they keep strife in their heart and defend with the fear of a black human being and the pride of their own. I live in GA! From Martin Luther King Jr to Ahmad Aubrey both dead … Where is the same energy they have about abortions that they should still have about these two incidents but everyone has an excuse.

There are no police ready to arrest someone on Sunday morning because of where they CHOOSE to drive to go to church. The big issue is how church staff treats those who have money & those who don't. The organized church is as much a business as it is a ministry much of the time. Btw, I once went into an all black church on a Sunday morning and not one person said hello.

🍒🍒🍒🍒HOW TO BE SAVED: There Is only one God, in three persons, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. ONE God. Humans are ONE person ( in three parts) The body, soul and spirit. Three parts, ONE person. The Bible says that we are all sinners. As it is written: There is none righteous , no not one. Romans 3:10 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.Romans 3:23 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags. Isaiah 64:6 For the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23 (The word death in this verse means eternal separation from God in hell). Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Isaiah 1:18 Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that He was buried and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures. 1Corinthians 15:3-8 In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:14 For by grace ye are saved, through faith; and not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 I do not frustrate the grace of God, for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. Galatians 2:21 If you would like to receive Jesus as your Savior. Realize that you are a hopeless sinner and tell Jesus that you trust in Him and only Him to save you from hell. Your trust in Jesus and His shed blood on the cross to pay for your sins, is what saves you from hell. The moment you trust in Jesus and only Jesus, you are saved. Then, you should be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Only said an interesting word separate and we have to remember that the house of Israel on the path to the Messiah were only to marry within their nations they were to remain separate from other nations of course they didn’t we know there was intermingling to a degree but they were to be separate some people might feel this was a form of racism but the Lord was protecting the genealogy throne which he wished to sin Jesus yet he was also sending angels here for ordained and born again son of man so some may feel this was a form of separatism but it was a protection for the progress of the covenant and in Hebrew covenant of course especially

So are you implying that every gentile was a black human not to intermingle with? #bookofHosea
@jolynnwhite7946
@jolynnwhite7946 Жыл бұрын
So when Jesus gets here he said first he was here for the last house of Israel OK some people say well that was that was separatist but the sacrifice that he was delivering was going to be for every man of every nation which includes daughters of course and and that’s the power that’s revealed through the good news he revealed that when he spoke with the Samaritan woman at the well because the Jews really didn’t have anything to do with Samaritans there was racial prejudice among the people so he began to break it right there in the fact that she was a daughter of mankind the apostle didn’t even like what are you doing talking to her he said so he showed by his actions what was purposefully going to be as the power of the good news he alsoI would be wars and reports of wars and race schism is a war it’s a war among those who walk the earth whether they were sent from heaven down the ladder or whether they because they would be born again into the form or whether they are born into a mortal what we will call mortal flesh not for ordained and racism can rise its ugly head and we know what the spirit of racism is the spirit of racism comes from the devil because it creates and causes people to do things to each other which is against the law of the Christ
