This taco shop born in Tijuana, when I live in Tijuana the taqueria are crossing the street to my house so I grow up with this tacos since 1986, today the taco shop is still there and is $ 1.50 for taco and is the OG one the first tacos el gordo!!

Best tacos in SD! Everything is fresh including the drinks (Aguas). The only other place that comes close to it is Lolita’s off L & the 805. Lolita’s has the best California burrito! South Cali has the best Mexican food period!!!

Because they're amazing. I usually hit up the Chula Vista location for their tacos 😋😋😋 San Diego local here. Have you tried TJ Oyster Bar yet? Amazing seafood tacos...and mariscos in general. I also recently was introduced to Four Tunas in San Marcos/Escondido area 👍🏼

When I’m having the craving for Mexican it’s a styrofoam container filled with carne asada street tacos with shredded cabbage and pico - maybe a dollop of guacamole. I like to add the rice and beans and a few enchi’s on the side of the shredded beef variety!

Its funny because tacos el gordo is relatively popular is Tijuana with tourist but its not even the best touristy one. Tacos el Frank, which is around the corner, is way better. And thats just the touristy places, the locals will show you even better places.

I went to this location 2 weeks ago. But it really wasn't that good. The carne asada meat had this really weird medicinal flavor to it that was hard to eat. Some of the stew meats were over the top salty. The adobada was the best meat, but I wouldn't say it was better than any other TJ taco place around SD.

Tried this place in Vegas, was amazing quality, very tasty at a very reasonable price however if you can''t speak Spanish it's not easy to order:-( I had to ask someone in the queue to help me know what to do and most peole serving only spoke Spanish too.

Tacos El Gordo are nasty. Want real tacos. Go to Tacos El Poblano in Chula Vista. They are an actual chain of tacos in Tijuana that moved to San Diego. When you go to Tijuana they are all over. Tacos El Gordo was created in San Diego, with the Tijuana concept. Tacos El Poblano are truly authentic, make a video going there. I'm Mexican tacos El Gordo are nasty I literally don't know how people like them. Obviously people who like crap are making them richer.

A taco stand in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in San Diego? Doubt you can even buy a home in La Jolla, Del Mar, or Rancho Sante Fe for a million. IF those rich snollygarts ever ate a taco, it would be with a fork and knife. Real tacos made by real people are farther south: National City (like the video guys knew), Chula Vista, San Ysidro, etc. Yeah, I grew up in San Diego as to why I know you don't know what you are talking about. Lolitas in Chula Vista for the win.....
