As an Indian I never hear anyone saying " I listen to t series " I don't think that the less amount of views should not be a surprise to anyone cause they only have a few videos that popped off and due to the younger generation will not have interest in the new hits of a very unknown movie and that may lead to stagnation. India is also the country with the largest population in the world (as of 2024 there are around 1.4 billion people living in India, making up a massive share of planet's entire human population) and, given that T-Series more or less has a monopoly on music videos and related music media featuring Indian and Indian-language content (mainly Hindi), they're going to pull in a massive number of subscribers. Also, while their individual videos are getting a relatively tiny number of views on average, because of the sheer number of videos they publish they're overall receiving a mind-boggling amount of user engagement, views, likes, and an incredible click-through rate. I'd say it's largely a matter of the population they're engaging with, having a monopoly on a very popular form of media appealing to a particular culture in the predominant language that culture speaks. It's essentially simple math. If you're an American or British English-language KZbin channel, for example, you're mostly going to pull in English-speaking viewers from America or Britain, respectively. Yet English-speaking Americans make up maybe two or more hundred million individuals and English-speaking Brits make up perhaps over 40 or 50 million individuals, whereas the Indian population speaking Hindi is far larger.

Only 40% of indians speak hind and there are over half a dozen music labels with over 50million subs and zee music has over 100m subs so there is plenty of competition as well.

@Sasuke-04 That's a fair point. I think 40% may still make it the largest language spoken in India, but correct me if I'm wrong. I guess I miscommunicated when I wrote "monopoly", but I'm sure that you can agree with my main point that T-Series has been able to tap into a vast market for different reasons and that among those reasons the language(s) they publish in and the audience(s) they're aiming to pull in are quite significant.

@@StClare_There is't a big divide between our music industry and film industry most of the songs are from films and Individual artists are very few compared to playback singers and these studios produce the songs or buys the distribution rights from artists that's why they are so popular you get to see good music videos with different popular actors or albums by top singers
