As a straight woman in this fandom, I feel like I'm a rarity, haha. I agree with your analysis.^^ While not being lgbt+ myself, I also enjoy the fandoms openness. I don't have to feel like I have to carefully curate what I say or how I act in fear or someone thinking I'm weird or strange, and I'm allowed to have more fun and be a bit silly as a furry. There's not many spaces I can say I feel like that about.

Most definitely! It's nice not having to worry about how you're percieved/act and it's honestly something I love about the fandom
