Everyone has different opinions. It's as simple as that. Also, we don't know the story or tone of the film. Just like how Jack Nicolson's Joker wouldn't have been a great fit for The Dark Knight, and Ledger's Joker wouldn't be a great fit for Burton's Batman 1989. But in their own films, they were great. We can think an actor would be a great fit, but we just don't know what the upcoming film is going to be like.

It's pretty well known that Todd Phillips didnt want to make a Joker sequel but imo, when it made the money it did, the studio gave him free reign to do whatever he wanted to get him back. He probably thought this was his best shot at being able to doing a musical and he had an idea how to do it within the Joker universe. To me, it seems pretty obvious (going by the first one) how to do it... I mean for real, the dance numbers? It's very easy to see how the sequel can work musical numbers into it... especially factoring in a Lady Gaga as Harley angle. The way i see it, it's part studio pushed sequel and part passion project. I loved the first one and have high hopes for the sequel.

I noticed the budget problem a couple years ago, Black Widow should've been a lower budget spy thriller in the vein of Jack Reacher or the Bourne Identity, 50 - 100m budget tops, instead they made this ridiculous 200m extravaganza complete with a ridiculous flying fortress recycled from other movies, poorly executed CGI and lazily written action sequences that made no logistical sense. They don't budget these movies based on the needs of the actual character just just slap a 200m price tag because "ItS a MaRvEl MoViE" so everything needs to cost $200 million

Thank you Rocha! I have been making the comment that Joker 2 has a recent chaotic feel to it that really closely mirrors today's society. The court room scene in particular, and the steps of the courtroom was way too close to home to fathom. I just think maybe this could've waited a few years to tell. Give me Beetlejuice Beetlejuice over that any day. Love the channel! Good Job Guys!!!
@ChrisTheAspergerGuy3 күн бұрын
The fact that there's less interest in Joker 2 simply because of negative reviews shows how much of sheep some people are. Why does anyone let reviews influence whether or not they see a movie? I've never understood that. I've seen plenty of movies in my time that got shit reviews and I saw them anyway and ended up liking them. I also don't think the fact that it's musical is breaking news. That's been public knowledge for a long while and from what I can tell, the trailers aren't really hiding it either, so I doubt that's a factor. Same thing with Wonka. You could easily tell in the trailer that it was a musical and people knew that, especially since the original was too. I don't think a movie being a musical is the deterrent you think it is. As for the box office, I'm glad Beetlejuice 2 is still kicking ass, but I'm bummed The Killer's Game bombed. I know your go-to reaction when this happens is to say it belongs on streaming, but movies like that still bombed even in pre-streaming times. Then again, look at The Beekeeper back in January. That was a hit, so clearly there's still an audience for this kind of stuff in theaters. The main problem with Killer's Game is that it fell victim to Lionsgate's shitty marketing. They barely advertised it, so obviously it won't attract an audience if nobody knows it exists. As for Blade, I like that idea that was presented. I've never seen The Raid, but the concept sounds awesome. I hope it gets made sooner than later. With Denzel's accent in Gladiator 2, I don't think it matters. I've said this before, but when it comes to historical epics, the story is simply being translated into English to make it digestible to audiences. Everyone knows nobody in ancient Rome was speaking with a British or New York accent in real life lol. And I couldn't give any less of a shit about the Emmys.

This is coming from someone who knows Jeremy Jahns has a huge heart. His speech during Schnepp's memorial show was authentic and emotional, he's not a conservative grift-monster. Now all that being said, Am I Racist? has to be one of the most hateful, vitriolic, clearly racist pieces of filmmaking I've seen in a long while. Jeremy's made it clear that he aligns with the views of the movie, he's done minstrel style blackface in his Blade review which makes the Am I Racist? review even more uncomfortable, and he dissed Stuckmann in the video, which I didn't appreciate. Yes, he can review whatever he wants, but his reviews and opinions reflect on him and we're also allowed to comment and criticize his work as well.

I thibk X Men should have won over Blue Eye Samurai I wasnt a big fan of that show. But i seem to be the minority on that one.

@Fan-Nimater101 I didn't dislike Blue Eye to be clear. Just everyone was saying it was the greatest thing ever and it just didn't hit that for me. But X-Men 97 was absolute cinema to me.

I loved both but Blue Eye is just on another level for animation and story. I didn't love the finale but the first half of that show was masterful

@@peteparker22 Really? I figured something big must have happen in the finale cause I don't think I finished the last two episodes. I watched when they got to the tower and escaped after getting to the top. But the animation and story and everything felt very okay and that was it for me. Meanwhile the story and animation in 97 I thought was so masterful. They managed to keep the same aesthetic of the older show while making it modern.
