It fits my hands perfectly. I was between it and the R10 and the 50ii was just more comfortable to me.

I’m so glad I pre ordered mine before watching your video. I have owned it for 3 days now and it is literally everything I wanted in an Everyday carry camera. It’s Great for Vlogging, for wildlife like the Elk I took pictures of with my 50=250 which goes out to 375mm in full frame and the Vibration reduction in the lens worked perfectly for the shots and you can tap the screen where you want your focus to be and it takes the shot. I love it’s super responsive flippy screen with tally light and the EVF is amazing. If I simply wanted to have simple video and simple snapshots then I’d stick to my phone. But to experience (me) in the equation I can say this camera is truly a Jack of all trades lacking in nothing. Plus we all know Nikons are built like tanks. I say Don’t wait. If you want to save a hundred dollars, try not eating at fast food restaurants a few times and bingo. I own the Z50ii and I am 100% glad I do. Just get the 2 lens kit and you’ll save a few hundred more right from the beginning. I currently own, Canon, Sony, Panasonic in both full frame, micro 4/3 and one inch sensor size along with Fuji apsc and Olympus micro 4/3. If they were all in unopened boxes and I knew what I know now and had to pick one and done the Nikon Z50ii is the One.

Nikon is actually the kind of camera brand where they seem to be at the back of the queue when it comes to what people prefer nowadays, until you actually try using one, you'd be surprised. My favourite part about nikon is their Raw files. I don't know how they do it but their files seem to be packed with so much color data. The same images i took with other brands, i need to work harder and be aggressive in editing to bring out the colors, such as to increase the vibrance and saturation levels, just to almost match what nikon files look like. On nikon sometimes there's so much color data that you need to reduce them or images can get overly saturated very quickly. That's a good thing because you actually have more data captured to work with.

If they make it very small you complain if they make it little bigger you complain.manufacturer cannot satisfy all customers and Nikon z50ll cannot be bracketed in heavy category. Nikon Z50ll is one of the lightest apse cameras in the market with improved functions

You should be thankful that you never had to use 35mm film SLR’S OF THE 70s and 89s.they all weighed minimum of 579+ gms

Don't think it would need to be thick for overheating, would surely just need a heat pipe that goes to the body which doesn't take much space, but that would make it too good at filming... The size is probably as you say for a coming camera. Or might it be because some consumer focus group liked a bigger camera? 😅

Thx for sharing. I too imagined that the bigger body could mean that another camera with IBIS was planned. On the other hand it might be the Expeed 7, with a higher heat dissipation, that required the bigger mass. If a DX pro is in the making would that body be large enough to accommodate 2 memory cards and a larger battery ? I hope it won't be another 1 or 2 years to see a high specs APSC camera. If that's even Nikon's plan.

I'm not sure whether the Z50ii is big enough for 2 SD card slots (Can't say for sure until i actually get to try one). But, I'm good one one SD and one micro SD like the nikon Zf. I'm never going to pull out the second card and I'll treat it as if it's internal memory. After i transfer files to my computer I'll just format it in camera.

@@EXkuroganePhotos Yes it is a viable solution, providing there is enough buffer memory built it. Micro SD are much slower.

Well I've done my very best to keep it down - i have curtains on both my right and left. I wonder if there are other things i can do, like, do i really need to tile all of my walls with foam boards. That's expensive. It's my own photo studio, with a prop workshop at the back.

To me, size is not the problem. I prefer what they can offer than the old z50.

Your thoughts on the newly launched Nikon Z50II are really nailing what other Nikon user's think. Yes it's probable that Nikon will use this same body to launch either a Z80 with 26MP APSc sensor with dual SD cards slots,ENEL15c battery to compete with Sony A6700... Also they might release a pro level APSc body Z90 with 33MP APSc sensor with IBIS, Dual card slots (CFExpress SD), ENEL 15c battery... This Z90 will replace the old D500....

To me it feels like Nikon is buying time. Like what they did with releasing the Zf because the Z6iii wasn't ready yet. It is the same exact pattern - Zf was "old sensor" with new processor and new body.

Too big???? The camera is tiny compared to most other Nikons.

The new Nikon Z50 II is unfortunately a flop due to its extra weight (+150gr) and larger body! I was really hoping to replace my beloved Z30 if they had kept the size of the old Z50, but that's not the case. Only serious tests by Okiver Hummel show that, apart from the better autofocus and 10-bit video code, there is almost no difference to the Z30 in practice. The only slightly better quality at ISO 25,000 in video mode is a gimmick and hardly relevant in practice. The Z30 therefore continues to rock the store due to its size and twice as good ISO resolution as the old Z50! With best wishes Steve Rich

From the way nikon has designed every body since the Z9, i think the size and weight increase has to be intentional, given that nikon is the prime choice for wildlife and bird photography enthusiasts and you do need the weight of a bigger body and a better grip to use super tele lenses. Personally I'm okay with that - i used to carry my D850 on overseas vacations. But with the way nikon made Z50ii so bulky, i can't help but feel that's another reason for it

@@EXkuroganePhotos The future of mirrorless cameras will be 100% mintuaization in the next few years to keep up with all the smartphones. There is a lot of insider information from the industry. And a perfect APSC camera that is smaller and has the same quality as a Z50 II will win the race on the market. Let's be honest, we will continue to use full-frame for professional shots, but a small camera with maximum image quality and 1.8 aperture is the most beautiful and practical. That's why the Z50 II has missed the market and the target. And only produced for customers who want to save the money for full format and still want a large body. Best regards Steve Rich

Better AF and 10 bit video is enough reason to upgrade over the Z30. 150g is nothing. Your morning trip to the washroom loses 5x that much weight. The Z50II is smaller than the Z6III which is smaller than the Z8. Nothing will be smaller than Z30.

Big? It is a Small Camera I consider my Z9 to be a Compact Camera, as it is Smaller than than my D200, D800, D810, and D850, all with Grips

Big relative to the competition offering cameras at this price point and sensor size, which would be the likes of Canon R10, Fuji XM5, Sony A6400 / ZVE10ii and so on.
