Exactly, the bible says we will not preceede the dead in christ and the dead in christ are not raised until the last trumpet in revelation 20:4-5 which is at the end of the tribulation. Jesus promises the disciples in matthew 24 that they will have tribulation and that we will be handed over by friends and family to be beheaded. Jesus himself says the son of perdition must sit in the temple and declare himself god (mid tribulation) before he comes again.

@@scottwall8419 Amilleniasm is what's right, the protestants think that the Church will not endure tribulations but that belief is contrary to Scripture. The rapture and dispensionalism is a new invention in the 19th century by John Darby, the Early Church never believed this, the Church Fathers never taught this and nor did the Bible ever say anything about it. It's only a misinterpretation of the Holy Scriptures which is why we all need the help of the Orthodox Church to edify us and interpret it for us, lest we fall into deception like many do..

Bridget; There is an enormous difference being going through a trial or tribulation on one's life. The GREAT tribulation is quite another thing that lasts for 3.5 years. The opening of the seals occurs during the Great Tribulation AFTER the rapture of the overcomers has taken place. While people will be dying and suffering horribly on earth for their hard heartedness and deliberate negligence, the overcomes will be at the wedding supper of the Lamb. That is what so many believers have failed to learn. They never learned the difference between a saved person and a Christian.

As a Baptist I believed in the Rapture, but when you read the Scriptures and the history of the church, it is not mentioned or addressed... Only in the 1800 a pastor brought this up and became popular... but in the early church and historical books from year 0 to 1800 there is no rapture teaching, only few verses that can be used to justify it... If it was THAT important, why the church leaders and apostles did not teach it very often??? It is important to understand and study the context... 👍 May the Holy Spirit lead us into truth 🙏

Amen. I was raised on rapture doctrine. Just went along with it cause it sounded good. Who was I to buck the theology of my pastor. Well I started bucking the system about the properity gospel and lots of other teachings too. Only in the last year or two have I seriously been taking a look at the rapture doctrine and I have concluded 100% it is a false doctrine and falls into that category of teachings being heaped upon itching ears that are so easily deceived. A secret resurrection was not taught in the OT and it is not taught in the NT. It has to be invented and it was in the 1830s as you pointed out. Grace to you brother.

Also, the Roman Catholics controlled doctrine for the vast majority of church history; they suppressed the rapture and many other truths until the Reformation when Bibles were freely available again.

This is correct, HOWEVER the same verse also mentions this will happen "immediately AFTER the tribulation of those days." That's very specific. The man of lawlessness comes before this verse as well. Post-tribulationalists likely have the correct timeline. This also seems to be case with the book of Revelation. I'd be ready for all scenarios in my opinion.

Jesus also speaks about the elect going through tribulation in Mathew 24 and states that for their sake the time of calamity will be shorten otherwise no one would survive. Believing there will be a secret rapture sets one up for deception and unpreparedness

You are absolutely right. Jesus lays out the whole scene in Matthew 24, and the coming of our Lord Jesus, comes after the tribulation. Now some say that the events in Matt. 24 are not in chronological order, I disagree with that premise. Jesus, states over and over "and then", "and then", He laid out the order in which these events will take place. Just because the majority of the world believes something, does not make it true. When Jesus, came the first time, He came as a lamb, but they thought He'd come like a Lion. The next time He comes, He will come as a Lion, but now they think He'll come like a lamb. My suggestion is to read the KJV or NKJV. Other Bibles change the wording, and I think that's intentional.

55% of Americans have been misled. You can't find the word "Trinity" in the Bible, but you can find the teaching of the Trinity in there. You can't find the word Rapture in the Bible, and you can't find the teaching there either, at least not the way the Rapture is taught by evangelicals today. The teaching of the Rapture was unheard of in the Church until the 19th Century. So for 1900 years everyone was reading the Scripture wrong? Or is it more likely that John Nelson Darby invented it himself in the 1830s, either through his own misreading of Scripture or by intentionally creating a false teaching to deceive? The entirety of the New Testament is teaching us how to endure the Tribulation, not saying we'll be spared from it. The idea of the Rapture as it's understood today and as it's depicted in the Left Behind novels and movies just isn't true

Pastor Greg, you were my pastor back in the late 70's when your church was still a Calvary Chapel in Riverside. I remember when Topher was born. You taught the pre-trib rapture then. We were all going to be raptured at any moment back then. 25 years later, through in depth study on the matter I realized the error of that teaching. God didn't promise a life free from TRIBULATION, but that we would be spared from His WRATH. I believe in a "rapture", but it will not be prior to the Great Tribulation. Hey Greg Funny how there has always been "tribulation" with Christians for 2000 years, including the Apostles /saints and Jesus all tortured and murdered because of their faith, and all of a sudden we hear this teaching from the 1800s saying that the elect will be like a protected species and whisked off before any suffering happens in the GT. Not to mention that Jesus would have to come down from Heaven a total of 3 times to fulfill this teaching of a pretrib rapture. This is clearly not in the bible, so why do you persist in spreading this error? Come home to the real church with her sacraments that Jesus left us with, before you are swallowed up in the confusion that is already with us in these end times. Jesus never said he was taking anyone to Heaven. Why would a Christian even be told about having to stand judgement on Judgement Day if they would already be in Heaven? @Stephanie WaberI was brought up believing in pre-trib rapture but since then have heard and seen many scriptures to the contrary. So I have been reaching out to pre-trib preachers for this answer and have yet to receive any answers. Of course I would have less fear of what is coming if pre-trib rapture were true. But I question it now and it makes more sense that Christians would have to go through tribulation to be martyred. Why would jesus' disciples need to be martyred but not us? But James 5 implies that the coming of Christ for the Church is at hand. In 2 Thes 2 I take the "departure" to be the rapture, consistent with the use in the ancient document called The Dormition of Mary. In other words, I take the apostasia (departure) of 2 Thes to be not a figurative departure, departure from doctrine, but a departure from the earth, litera.

Exactly, jesus also eluded to the same thing with the parable of the the wheat and the weeds. Saying that the weeds would be left to grow along side the wheat until the harvest then the weeds would be collected first to be burned, and only then would the wheat be collected and brought to the farmer's barn. The FIRST resurrection, of those in Christ, takes place at His coming and who does it include? It includes those beheaded for not taking the mark of the beast or worshipping the beast's image. As you know the beast image and the mark of the beast do not even exist until the last 3.5 years that take place just prior to Christ's return. The FIRST resurrection includes people who live and die during the 3.5 years prior to Christ's coming in Judgement. The FIRST resurrection includes people martyred DURING the tribulation. There is no resurrection prior to the FIRST resurrection. The rapture of living believers takes place AFTER the resurrection of dead believers. *We will in no way precede them.* The rapture is post-tribulation. Jesus actually told us when he is coming. He said that AFTER THE TRIBULATION the sun will be darkened and the moon won't give its light and we will see the Son Of Man coming on the clouds with power and great glory. He said that he is coming AFTER THE TRIBULATION. Paul said that we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye on the LAST TRUMPET and the dead will be resurected. I think the great “falling away” will be those who expect a pre-tribulation rapture and when it doesn’t happen they will be disillusioned. The rapture theory comes from a man, Charles Nelson Darby, which he came up with in the 1830s. Nobody discovers the pre-trib rapture theory from reading the bible because it is not in there. You can impose it on scripture but it is just types and shadows. We will be here through the tribulation. There is a passage in the book of Revelation (711-14) that speaks of Christians of many tongues and nations suffering persecution through the tribulation. In John 17:15 Jesus prays that God would keep us from the evil one and not remove us from the world. In Revelation 3:10 Jesus speaks of keeping us safe from the hour of trial coming to test those who dwell on the earth. Yes, there will be a rapture but AFTER the last trumpet. We are not going anywhere beforehand.

His name was John not Charles, and the rapture was rediscovered several centuries before he was born, during the Reformation when people got access to Bibles again. The Roman Catholics controlled doctrines for the vast majority of church history before that, and they agreed with your opinion of the rapture. That explains why the rapture wasn't seen for the vast majority of church history. Anyway, in John 17, Jesus prayed that his apostles not be taken with him at his Ascension so they could start his Church, and he alludes to this next by praying for all those who will join his Church due to their ministries. In Rev 3:10, Jesus promised to keep righteous saints away from the time of testing on earth when everyone on earth gets tested. He didn't promise to keep them from the testing while they remained on earth, which is totally different, but it's your chosen interpretation, isn't it? So, the only way to keep that promise will be to move them to Heaven, and that explain why the glorified church is seen in Heaven in Rev 19 before the second coming. But you're right about one thing, you will go through the great tribulation because you will miss the rapture--unless you believe and repent and watch and pray always to be accounted worthy to escape all the things that are coming to pass. That's Jesus' warning to everyone.

The great falling away is happening now. And I don’t think trying to be cute by cherry-picking scripture and ignoring clear scripture that shows a pre trib rapture is wise. You will be beheaded for not taking the mark of the Beast. So what is to be raptured? And what about being ready and buying and selling and marrying just as in the days of Noah… These things aren’t going to be big during the tribulation. And “as a thief in the night” wouldn’t make sense. There is a timeline when the tribulation begins. It wouldn’t be a surprise at that point to believers. Revelation 19:11 - 20:6 is universally understood by Believers to be the prophetical account of the Lord's Return and it includes a resurrection. However, it sates in 20:5 that "This is the FIRST resurrection"! The two primary passages for the Rapture (1 Thessalonians 4, and 1 Corinthians 15) include a resurrection. Hello David, Just remember that confusion is not from God. I used to be confused about the Rapture teaching until i began to study the word and ask the Lord for wisdom and discernment. He sure open my eyes because i realized there is not pre-tribulation rapture and that this is another lie of Satan to deceive his people. Many Christians are waiting on the Lord to rescue them before the Antichrist arrives think about what will happen once the Antichrist began to rule and people are deceived by him because they are waiting on the Lord to rescue them. I love Calvary Chapel and Pastor Laurie as well. But the Historical Premillennial view of the Rapture is that it’s at the Return, the Last Trumpet, the 1st Resurrection, “immediately after the distress of those days...” So, yes, the Rapture is a real event. The pre-Trib, partial-Return, bizarre separation into two sets of saints and raptures/resurrections is not a real event, but is placed onto the text of 1 Thes after ripping chapter 4 out of its context in chapter 5 and in into 2 Thes 1 & 2.

Bee Kau I just did a very comprehensive study on this 😍 i discerned that the tribulation is in 3 separate stages, with the last phase of it being wrath. Scripture says we are not appointed to wrath. In Matthew 24 (and Luke 20, I think it is), Jesus describes the events that would be happening before He returns. In Matthew 24, he says these events are the beginning of sorrows. “Tribulation” is a synonym for tribulation. So those events are the beginning of the tribulation. The first part of the tribulation ends with WW3, which I believe is the Gog/Magog war. We leave after the falling away and the Anti-Christ has been revealed. I believe we are in the beginning of the tribulation now. The prophecy of the fig tree generation was fulfilled two years ago when the country of Israel was 70 years old, meaning we are maybe two years into the tribulation. In the parable of the 10 virgins, it says the bridegroom comes at midnight. That is in the middle of the night...in the middle of the darkness...in the middle of tribulation. The Restrainer is Archangel Michael. He is who leads the battle in heaven against Satan, who wins, and will thrust Satan down to the earth for him to fully possess the AC. With all of the meteor showers that have recently happened, I believe that’s a sign of the war in the second heavens. I believe we are very close to His return 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Rachel Fernandez The rapture is definitely in the Bible. Jesus speaks of it. As does Paul. However, the gospel of John says upwards of 4 times that the resurrection will happen on the last day. Paul said the dead in Christ will be resurrected before the rapture. So if the dead are resurrected before the gathering up of believers, then the rapture can only happen on the last day, the day of the Lord, when Jesus returns. Chronologically this will take place after the great tribulation. I encourage you to read about it for yourself: 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 Matthew 24:29-31 These three passages are really all you need to completely understand the rapture. There is no secret. There is no mystery if you’re allowing the Holy Spirit to make the word of God alive for you. Yes, we may have to go through a time of tribulation, but we should continue to look for Jesus’ return. God loves us. He is not storing His wrath for believers. Even in the tribulation, He will not allow His wrath to harm believers... just like He protected the Israelites from the Passover when they were still in Egypt, because the blood of the lamb was on their doorposts. Read it for yourself. Pray as you read these scriptures that God will reveal the scriptures to you. And He will. He isn’t the kind of God who only gives knowledge to preachers and televangelists. Most Christians think it will spare them from persecution by the wicked when the man of sin comes into the world; it will not. It saves us from the destruction coming upon the whole world as mentioned in Revelation (post 7th trumpet). Jesus said when we see these things come to pass (sun and moon going dark, powers of the heaven shaken, stars falling from heaven, seas and waves roaring, etc) look UP for your redemption draws near. Before 1970 it was common across denominations all would bear witness to the end times sinner and believer. There was no left behind. All faced the end all experienced Christ's 1,000 year rule and all faced God as Judge. These he ignores and goes right into the property doctrine which often contradicts the Bible. The concept of Rapture clings to one verse. One that is unsupported by any other passage in the Bible. Every passage in the Bible is a call back to another or supports another. Well said. Good quotes. What makes Christian's entitled to a so called rapture? Why do Americans think they are saintly? 99% of us have committed adultery, watched pornography, lied, stolen, cheated, bearing false witness, gossiped, committed idolatry. How many Christian's have been baptized in Jesus name and received the holy ghost? Jesus said you must be baptized by fire and spirit to enter in. Why didnt any of the apostles get raptured? The rapture doctrine is false hope and is lukewarm at best. WE KNOW WHAT JESUS DOES TO LUKEWARM CHRISTIANS! HE SPITS THEM OUT!

I believed in the 'rapture' but got confused with the 'place of safety', with 'the woman chased by the dragon and she will be carried on the wings of the eagle to a place of safety where she will be nourished for a time and time and a half'. Then we have "Pray that your flight does not take place on the Sabbath or in winter....'. Truly, this requires an answer, as I noticed that all the preachers and christians who believe in the rapture are not wrong, but may have the sequence of its event wrong. I now believe, considering all scriptures on this subject, that we must not excluse the 'flight' the 'place of safety' etc... as it creates doubt in the mind of those who question it. I believe the rapture will be after we are taken to the place of safety. And if not, please explain the above quotes I have mentioned.

Why are so many people overlooking the fact that we, the Church, are Jesus's bride. God pours out his wrath onto the world during the Great Tribulation. if we are still here when that happens that means he would be pouring out his wrath on his bride as well. He wouldnt do that

No, Satan pours out his wrath during tribulation..God’s wrath comes after the tribulation on the Day Of The Lord. We will be spared that day...but not tribulation

The tribulation and the wrath of God are different which we are saved from if we’ve believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. The tribulation period the saints must endure ,there is no rapture.
