Yup, a big fat pitch right down the middle.

It all depends on the hitter, the situation of the game, and other variables. A green light on a 3-0 doesn't mean a good pitch to hit, so you could fall into swinging at a bad 3-0 pitch. Also IF you hit it hard, honestly, it could still be an out, and if not, odds are you hit a single.

Was there a take sign? Sometimes a rookie isn't confortable swinging at a 3-0 pitch. You see that a lot on the first pitch, a fastball down the middle taken for a strike. You wonder to yourself why

Yes there was a Take Sign own this At Bat. It was pretty much an unwritten rule that when your team is down by more than a run. You Take the 1st pitch and a 3 and 0 count. I don’t think I had that in College but I did in the Minors.

Managing baseball is much simpler than coaching football. So, managers like to have a batter sacrifice bunt and take 3-0 pitches so that they can think they are a brilliant strategist that really knows baseball.
