That's the trick about these "eco-friendly" engines: They can't pollute if they keep breaking down time and again (at least that's what the rationale looks like from here). 😉

Like anything even back in 50s sometimes you get a bad one and unfortunately more parts equals higher risk of bad one

@@ltciscora However, back then the parts that would fail were mechanical, could be repaired/jury rigged/replaced on the side of the road and the truckers back then had a better knowledge of their rigs. Now it's all pretty much black boxed, so complicated that it doesn't take much to "stop up the drain" and the drivers are more steering wheel holders that are taught to push a button or call for a tow to a mechanic.

I pick up in all the yards on the east coast. Nice contact with the tow company because he showed up in the loader and loaded it quick and fast.

The problem with the egr is that it pushes the already burnt fuel back into the intake. It is regurgitating it back in to the block. It literally put crud back in to the engine. I think they need new engineers in all car brands and truck/diesel. Looks good on paper til there is a recall for a billion cars with improper parts or quality of.

Funny how the supposedly brilliant US engineers can't get it to work while Asian and European engineers have almost no trouble at all with it. I've said it before and I'll say it again: these are self-inflicted wounds by a society that actively tries to block progress and environmental care. In Asia and Europe environmental standards are mandatory and old diesel engines are banned almost everywhere; in the US that's not the case. And you still wonder why US engineers can't get it done properly?

I used to drive one of those Freightliners for a furniture store. It was a decent truck but others treated it like crap. I almost bought an old FL80 for myself.

Hmm the engine's in our cargo box truck's (Same thing in the video) all of them have been running excellent for so many years. One had to get a new oil pump after the driver was ran off the road to avoid hitting a vehicle coming towards him passing a vehicle. Lucky a cop was able to arrest the driver. He's been court ordered to pay damage's and he did.

@@danielseelye6005 our's are older. And 2 of our cargo trucks have a small sleeper in the back for the driver's. They take them when we have load's going to New York. Try driving a big KW and a trailer down the streets in New York. We did it once and never again. My husband's blood pressure was skyhigh.

my guess is insurance totaled it out couse it was easer then replacing the motor wrote a check and sent it down the auction or it was abonded at a shop once the bill was tolled

The only way the insurance company gets involved with mechanical problems is if the problem is due to collision, theft, natural disaster or if the vehicle was driven into a lake.

Honest question. What makes you decide which binders to use, the ratchet or lever type? Is it just location, access? See a bunch of cry babies about the music 🙄 don't like it, just like the CB, don't listen, simple. It's your content, if it wasn't good, you wouldn't have anyone following.
