Hi Stephen, thanks for the video of Haig Road. I saw an article on my phone before your video talking about the house sale including the pigeons!! As soon as I saw the garage, I knew it was Haig Road before I even read the article. It was very depressing to see the houses in such a state. When my Dad was alive in the 60's and 70's, our family went to Blackpool every year. Back then Haig Road was full of Boarding Houses. We stayed at number 32, the woman who ran it had spent most of her life in service and ran the B and B with military precision! I am now 60 yrs old and have never come across anyone who could cook and bake as good as Mrs Johnson! Before my Mum passed away a few years ago, me and her and one of my sisters came to Blackpool for the day and went to Haig Road. It was very depressing for my Mum to see the road in such a state. It was only 10.30am but people were already sat outside drinking alcohol. Blackpool has changed so much but then we're talking about 50 years ago. It was a different world back then.

The area has fallen on very hard times in the last few decades. It's not really fit for families, so this house, if sold, will likely be turned into flats.

Evening Stephen you were out and about bright and early this morning, nice to see clear skies and no rain in Blackpool. If the house in question is renovated to a high stand, hopefully the buyer will make a large profit. Evening Stephen, great video, never new there were houses at the back near the old Yates. Shame about the old Yates building, wonder if it was closed because of the lack of people venturing down south pier end because of the pleasure beach becoming a none walk on park. Really interesting walk mate, cheers.
@Liverpool-s5nАй бұрын
No one would be allowed in to inspect the premises because of the state, hazardous to health, and wonder when the pictures were taken? When doing this up it will cost thousands, hundreds to remove inner walls, doors, ceilings, floor boards, the entire thing gutted and to start again, wearing specialist gear to undertake the work. Because the air, in the building is hazardous, it will have permeated the inner walls and floors, as I say, all would have to be removed.

Quite shocking really ..because no matter where you stand within Blackpool unless on a hill , hidden by buildings or trees .. you can usually spin around from the majority of roads and either get a glimpse of the top of the tower or even more of the structure , it's a great guiding feature to help people not lose sense of direction.
