Why is this Star Wars Figure so Rare?

I heard something about a fire at a Brazilian storage facility where Vlix figures were being stored before retail. Many were supposedly ruined by smoke and water, making him even more rare. Thanks for this episode!

By the time Droids and Ewoks came out in 1984~1985 I was pretty much done with Star Wars . It wasn't fun anymore I saw the figures but didn't buy any . I was in to GI Joe and was starting to out grow them to. Had they came out a few years earlier I would have had them . I would have had this guy in my cantinas for sure.

I don't think they made a lot of the toys which weren't appealing for me except for the vehicle with the sidecar. The same for Ewoks, except they are better. I like the Dulok shaman. I liked the cartoons, but we didn't have any of the toys. I wish Droids was cooler.

I'm honestly surprised that Hasbro hasn't done Retro figures from Droids yet. Even if they did it as a fan channel exclusive.

There is a Vintage Collection Droids style R2 coming. There are VC and BS Droids Boba Fetts and a VC Threepio.

I didn't have this one. I remember seeing one at a convention in the 90's. It was too expensive. If not for that, I would have bought it. I had every original figure, except for Amanaman and Yack Face.

i remember the Ewoks cartoon theme song from when i was little, but i don't really remember the cartoon, i thought i remembered the droids cartoon, so i bought a bootleg dvd of the droids cartoon at some point in the early 2000s, i watched it and didn't know if i had watched it as a kid, so if i never watched either show i wouldn't have known to want the figures as a kid, i liked the mcd's muppet babies figures from mcdonald's happy meals in the 1980s, that was the only way to get figures from that cartoon i think

I liked the Droids cartoon as a kid, but I wish it was better. It doesn't seem to be in the Star Wars universe. The designs are weird and don't work for toys. It was another perplexing decision from Lucas. It could have been a beginning for the EU. Ewoks worked better but was more kiddy. I like both theme songs, but the Police like Droids one was an odd choice.

It’s not really the best looking figure out of all of them and I don’t usually collect figures from the cartoons because in a collection like mine, it’d stick out like a sore thumb. But I know it has to be frustrating to anyone collecting the Droids line though, can’t imagine spending $5k-$20k on one figure just to have a complete set.

I actually liked the ewok cartoon & droids cartoon not so much as kid. But as adult ! Now as for this figure goes to me Its not worth paying outrageous amount for one figure, just like the Yak face figure of 85 ! Now 20 , 30 years ago when I was an actual kid then yes if I had the money, but perfectly content on seeing on a card back or in picture some where

@@tomcruisenukedmyaccount5388 That was ABC's fault, they actually had ALOT of restrictions on how much of a Star Wars flavor the Droids cartoons could have. To the point where no one could really used guns, everything had to be scepters or staffs, that's why you have Stormtroopers with these weird staffs that shoot at weird angles. You would think ABC would want as much Star Wars out of their Star Wars as they could get. ABC really ruined what could've been.

I'm not sure I would want this figure in my collection, especially at such a high price. If I tried to sell it, no one would be willing to pay what it's worth. I'm having enough trouble selling figures that AREN'T rare. I guess I need better contacts, I'm not fully acclimated into the game. If I were to get fakes, I would have a more strict limit. I can't see paying more than $60 on a fake. Who am I trying to impress anyway? For a fake, I'd pay 30-40, but that's 30-40 I could be paying for something that's genuine Kenner. Thanks for the video

I remember asking a person who did have one lix on card and generally how much he would sell it for but he looked at me silly and wouldnt give a price He did have a repro though and offered it on card for a thousand dollars but i thought NO As i live in australia i would like to know can you still get the TOYSHOP magazine or have i been out of reality for so long

No interest in having it in my collection. No interest in figures from the Droids line or the Ewoks line. The rarity of the Vlix figure reminds me of the Yak Face figure. Both were only released in South America and in smaller quantities.

It's also one of the ugliest. I don't care that it's rare and I don't care about the Droids and Ewoks cartoons I didn't watch. Ugly is ugly. Also it's a production sample and not a prototype.

I liked the cartoons, but Droids doesn't seem to be in the Star Wars universe, and it's extreme designs didn't work for toys. It was a missed opportunity and another odd decision from Lucas. Why didn't he hire DIC? They did a great job with MASK, also from Kenner, which came out the same year. It could have been a beginning of the EU. I like the vehicle with the sidecar though. Ewoks made more sense but was more kiddy.
