I think you're confusing Trump's presence in front of the voters, rallies and interviews and press conferences, for communicating to the nation that he's doing what he said he would. That was the whole reason for the rally after the inauguration, signing the EOs to show he was walking the walk. It's not rocket science. It's branding.

@@sw3783 That is your choice to see it that way. The rally was a celebration and taking a victory lap, At the same time saying 'thank you' and to show he was just not empty promises to win votes.

I think both responders have strong points. Pres. Trump has something that too many presidents don't have: the populist touch. A billionaire populist. He actually likes the people who elected him.

In the '80s and '90s I lived in Astoria, Queens for ten years. I was a "bus and tunnel" person but I was baffled that Queen's born Donald Trump was also given that condescending title by Manhattanites. His father was a millionaire and he was a billionaire who graduated from the Wharton School of Business etc. But a born and raised New Yorker explained that the large helicopter emblazoned with the name TRUMP was his way of "flying the flag" over the skinny island.

To think that it’s not worth attacking the broad interpretation of the 14th Amendment under Wong Kim and make the same arguments as made in the dissent to this particular court of Originalists would be a dereliction of duty. Not to mention the fact that you said during this exact show that over 50% of America wants every illegal immigrant deported marks a societal and cultural shift from when the original case was handed down (during the Gilded Age). There is no better time to challenge the constitutionality of birthright citizenship.

I like Stirewalt and listen to him here and then but his analysis is quit off more often than it’s not. He was absolutely wrong about the primaries and he’s equally wrong about “dems lost more than reps won”.
