Stak, I would like to lodge a complaint about taking Morgan and Morgan on as a sponsor. I am an attorney and have a real disdain for their advertising practices as well as for their reputation as counsel, particularly in basic personal injury litigation. I fully acknowledge that much of the information I have about them is not first hand, and that I have a pretty strong bias against any large, impersonal legal services providers, so do not take my protest as more than what it is: a man dissatisfied with the way his small part of the world is going and largely powerless to make significant corrections. I very much enjoy the content and do not begrudge you that sponsorship money to support your family. Here is to wishing you many more sponsors in the future, just not Morgan and Morgan.

As a Venezuelan, thank you very much for explaining this complex issue. I didn't vote on this and the majority of people also didn't, this is an absolute fraud and a bluff from the Venezuelan government. If anything happens (which I doubt) I hope Venezuela loses because that would accelerate Maduro's downfall. I do not want any war or conflict in the region and this government does not represent me at all. Let peace reign over everything 🕊☮

Honestly I love that you brought up Runescape and the Venezuelan gold farmers. It's sad but yeah them putting in 8hrs a day nets them a living wage even with the constant sweeps and bans for RWT. Of course there's an entire history with this gold farming and how plenty of places took advantage of them. Along with them initially being hired out as muscle for clans to protect the Revenant caves across multiple worlds, only for them to band together and take over themselves, turning to gold farming, etc.

Venezuela already has the biggest oil reserves in the world, just sitting there unused. The Venezuelan dictatorship is not looking for oil, they don't need it. Right now, it looks like it's looking for a war, but there's an infinite amount of possibilities as to what exactly they're looking for. It could even be simply related to the upcoming presidential elections, without any war ever happening. It's just clearly NOT about access to oil. (if you don't believe me, look up the current state of Venezuelan oil refineries and extraction plants. They have ran the oil industry to the ground.)

I remember finding out the decline of Venezuela was happening because in 2013-14 Venezuelans were playing and farming RuneScape, because at one point the in game gold actually had more value than the bolivar. They would farm high value locations in massive clans and sell the gold to blackmarket gold trading websites, since real world trading is not allowed. As I am typing this the video just got to that point. I remember having to deal with them in the revenant caves. You could make like 3-4 dollars a day per account so they just played multiple accounts at once e and do nothing else but that.

That was quite obvious to be honest, Lula nor the brazilians want any war, especially in their borders. Also, Brazil is kinda diplomatic titan, that likes to being neutral as much as possible (i'm talking about military alliances, not trade rights, like they've done in BRICS). Plus a war in the borders would end in a victory for Brazil, but would damage brazilian economy deeply, war is quite expensive.

Yeah Venny's are oft mentioned in the Old School Runescape community. There are even gangs or cartels of Venezualans running high-risk high-reward areas. One example is the Revenant Caves which is an activity in a PvP area in which huge Venezualan clans run a protection racket. There was even a war between rival Venezualan clans in this area which makes sense because protecting players in this area was lucrative, consistent and something that could conceivably be done on an alternate account (i.e. they could be a bodyguard on one screen while making more money on another).

I do think Guyana has a few big advantages against Venezuela. Jungles are as stated impossible to navigate via heavy vehicles, only 3 points for invasion but only one is viable but will be heavily defended while the two would be blocked by other powers, allies like Brazil and US and possible more allies if war breaks out. Now yes Venezuela has air power, idk what kind of Russian aircraft they have so I'll study more and determine their capabilities. Air warfare is my bread and butter. If the Venezuela does invade (and if their commanders are competent) they'll try to establish air supremacy while doing CAS for infantry. That being said if the US gets involved (which we might because oil lol) whatever cold war birds that Venezuela will send would face the 100mi+ death sticks from the USN. As for numbers game yes in theory Venezuela will win. But this is real life. You could have everything yet still lose. Like Russia Vs Ukraine or Israel Vs the Middle East. All it comes down to is luck and having good generals. Also good allies. Final part is allies. Since no one but Russia supports Venezuela if they try to invade it would be the same as kicking a hornet's nest. You would basically be asking for death even if you win. Hopefully this war doesn't happen. But given as you stated about rash decisions it might happen. The one thing i worry about is Guyana's other neighbors who are in dispute over who owns what. They might take Venezuela side and invade forcing a 2 front war. Perfect opportunity. That's all I'll say for now. Might respond when i researched the aircraft Venezuela owns. Love your videos and hope your channel continues to grow.

It feels weird to reply but after studying a bit, tho it comes from wiki so take it with a grain of salt. Venezuela has a pretty sizeable air force, 183 birds in total, the two I'm worried about the most is 20 SU-30MK2s and 22 F-16A/Bs. Now my knowledge of Russian aircraft are limited but the SU-30s are multi-role....meaning it can preform Air to air and Ground attacks. The F-16s can also tho it's the A models so very limited. Also worried is the amount of transport birds both fixed and rotary. You wouldn't need to cross jungles you could use helicopters and transports to air drop if the Venezuelans have paratroopers. This is gonna be a pain in Guyana side given you can air drop from behind and hit them in different directions. I thought they only had really old and bad birds, which I hate to say due to my love with aviation. So quite possible that they are more capable than I thought. Thing is even with all that if they use it badly it wouldn't matter. Still a concern if this war happens.

Ultimately aviation in a rainforest is hard and i would think it would even more so with lives on board. However Guyana isn't exactly defenceless rn since US Southern Command is rn patrolling and monitoring Guy Air Space. Also only other border dispute is with Suriname, and they are an active member of caricom among other organisations mutually with Guyana... Atm likelihood of this is very low as yes it is taught in Suri schools as well it isn't atm being drummed up and this controversy doesn't have that level of patriotic desire esp when compared to vene

@@ataakhan8432 thanks for clearing those up, yeah aviation in jungle warfare are a pain and idk if Venezuela has any abilities to make LZs like we did in Vietnam. If they do then it's "easier" but still a pain since you can hide AA systems and wait for birds passing through basically ambushing them. Which idk if Guyana has AA guns, I mean a RPG while not made for it can be used as AA. So can machine guns. Will it be effective? Maybe for helicopters and unlucky jets going low but other than that. The air warfare would be in Venezuela favor unless the US gets involved by sending Air Defense systems or birds but time will tell, I do know if they move a carrier there then Venezuela is about to feel it since the early F-16s only could carry AIM-7s and are limited by outdated radars that couldn't do BVR iirc. The SU-30s might be better but still 1980s tech isn't gonna have fun with F-35s or F-18s lol.

I would actually love to see a podcast on The Yellow Emperor. While he is considered a myth I wonder who really inspired this Chinese legend. Or maybe a podcast on the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors, where the legend stems from.

Love the video, glad other people are learning about this. Bolivar (in an American accent) sounds like “boliv-are” not “boliv-air”, cause it’s closer to the right way to say it. Venezuela (in an American accent) sounds more like “Venez-well-a” not “Venez-whale-a”

Thank you for this Video Stakuyi. As a Serbian, i cam empathise with Venezuelans when it comes to the majority losing the elections due to corruption. We just had parliamentary and municipal elections yesterday, and again, the Vučić government won, even when most people didn't actually vote for them. How do i know? People who were counting the votes said so on some social media apps like Twitter, while Vučić was twisting the votes into his favour on the news. I hope nothing comes out of Modero's threats of war, as the tensions in the world are already high enough, and we dont need more war. Especially since my own country can erupt into war with the breakaways down south at any time. Good luck to the people of both Venezuela and Guyana, hope it gets better!

About that cruise ship incident. The ship was designed to be able to sail in the Arctic so it had an ice breaker on it's prow underneath the water line. It essentially had a battering ram. and the Venezuelan patrol ship tried to block their path.

As a Venezuelan I am adding some stuff to the video: 1. Venezuela changed its name several times. Its been called "United States of Venezuela", "Federation of Venezuela", "Republic of Venezuela" and the current name "Bolivarian Republic of Benezuela" only came to be when Chavez chanhed the constitution in 1999. 2- Santeria hides an African Politheistic Religion under a Christian diaguise. This was needed because slave owners forbade any other religion, so the slaves hid a piece of paper with the name of their different Gods (called Oriahas) inside the ceramic statues of several Catholic Saints. For example St. Barbara in Santeria is Obatala, the king of their pantheon, and many Venezuelan Catholic festivities are really Santeira Based. The Day of St. Barbara is huge in Venezuela because of this reason. If you see a statue of St Barbara, most likely it is Obatala and not the original Saint they are worshiping. 3. Venezurlan Maps taught in schools have shown the Ezequibo as part of Venezuela for the longest time. It shows them as Zone in Reclamation, and shows Guyana as the rest of that county. I'm 37 years old and I had never seen a map of Venezuela without the Ezequibo until Google Maps was invented. You go ask any Venezuelan what shape Venezuela resembles and all of them will say it is an elefant. Very hard being an elefant without its back legs. This denying of History has been the State position long before Chavez came to power. I agree though this is a political smoke screen by Maduro to rekingle that old issue just to get the oil and, more importantly, the infraesteucture.

Point of order: There are *no* roads that go through Essequibo, at least coming from Venezuela. The only road connection between the two countries in through Brazil. It's around some 200km of dense jungle at the shortest between any real road in the Venezuela-Guyana border. Maybe a bit less if you count some stuff on aerial view that might be some very small rivers or might be some very barebones dirt roads, but even then, still some 100km of very dense jungle. There is one major river that looks pretty navigable, the Cuyuni River, but that's about it for a direct non-sea route between the two.

If Putin is even a little bit behind this, then that could be a severe miscalculation for him. India and China support Guyana (especially India). From a strictly RealPolitik perspective, the US decision to - say for instance - send just one carrier to the region to defuse the situation (or actually *use* said carrier in the event an invasion actually takes place) would probably actually *help* Ukraine. For one, it would dispel the myth in the US that aiding Ukraine is hurting the US' ability to respond to other crises (just one Carrier Strike Group would completely overwhelm Venezuela's miltary). More importantly, it would probably lead to India viewing the US slightly more favorably than they do now, and Russia less favorably. Since India's neutrality has been crucial to Putin during the larger war, that's really bad news for him. Furthermore, even China might consider that to be a positive use of the US' role as guaranteer of global security (though there is no way they'd publicly admit to that). Obviously, it wouldn't cause all World events completely go in Washington's and Kyiv's way, but it would be a small boost to the US Navy's international and domestic prestige and an embarrassment to isolationist politicians in the US.

Never thought I'd be talking about my experiences in history as a...well, a Runescape player. But I've played since 2006 and I remember the effects in-game of not just the Venezuelan players but also the blackouts. The prices of in-game items, especially consumable resources that nobody else wanted to spend hours farming, would skyrocket during the decline in the playerbase. I became friends with one of the gold farmers when they started to become known among us "normal" players, and I picked up enough Spanish from talking to him to converse with other farmers. I came to learn that they were fathers, mothers, children, really anyone that with access to a computer and a mouse. They were essentially clocking in to work fishing (pixel) sharks, while I was getting home from school and blowing off steam in the same game. In college my history professor thought my proposal for a study on the in game and real world economics of Runescape was bonkers at first. 6+ years later and he still uses my Power Point presentation to teach about the effects of video game economies on real world economies and vice versa. Cheers from us Runescape players. We hope for peace and prosperity in Venezuela and Guyana 🕊

Slight tangent from this very good video: Ah, yes, "indentured servitude", where British Empire would "arrest" (read: kidnap) dissidents from Ireland by the thousands and ship them to British territories (e.g. Australia) as "indentured servants" to "pay for the trip", and then included "room and board fees" (read: imprisonment) on that contract at a rate that would ensure the "servant" never lost that "indentured" status. It was literally slavery. Full stop.
