Razeem Vermeulen attention attention attention !! arab people will never ask you about this "we " because they know it is a plural of respect " there are two type of "we " in the Arabic language grammar , plural and plural of respect same formula as with Jews people when they use the word ello-hm , (in the old testament bible ) so this "hm" is plural of respect , "we" also in Quran is plural of respect "!!!

i know exactly what you mean.. "I" is more convincing because this is a monotheistic faith, but then i realized us Pakistanis also use "we" or "hum" in that same sense. ie.. "Hum tumare hain". It is often referred to as the majestic plural or royal "we" in English. hope that helps..

Umu Jalloh We are truly blessed but I always remember what got Iblees into trouble (and the reason for all our troubles) is that he "considered" himself as more prestige than Adam. Again, we are gifted the gift of Islam and we should bask in it but when any individual or any community consider themselves as better than they leave no room for any further improvement and that is self-destructive in itself. It could also be seen as Allah being inclusive with His subordinates. Sometimes I come home with my own money and invite all the family members and tell them “here’s how much money “We” have for the Eid. I am here inviting everyone to have his or her say or share in what is in front of us all, even though I was the one who earned it. Allah actually invited collective participation.

Hey brother, here is a simpler explanation; When Allah gets personal in his speach, than He is always I reflecting the oneness of Him. No other partners besides Him. However, when Allah refers to his capacity as a deity than He uses the term We because Allah is: Allah AlRahman AlRahim AlSalam AlAzim AlAziz AlJabbar AlQuwi AlQuader AlMuhaimin AlRaouf AlMutakabir AlAwal AlAkher AlLatif AlSiteer .. .. Upto the known 99 capacity names of Allah. With these names we barely get a feeling of the capacities and power of Allah And so the term We in Qur'an is the glorification of the capacity of Allah Almighty who is one, only one and no one else besides Him.

When it comes down to it, explicit statements over ride implicit. In the Quran Allah reminds us countless times of his Oneness, his lack of equals both explicitly and through stories. Of course me quoting verses is cherry picking, so find me a sentence in which Allah explicitly says he has equals in the Quran. I can't.

Great! jazak Allah! But what I understood is Allah use for Himself "WE" when HIS servants (Angels) play a role to fulfill Allah's order. You gave us example of Iblees (Satan), because Allah directly talking to Iblees that's why Allah says "I order you". And other all things in this universe happen through HIS servants (angels). The example of President you quoted, president use we because the decision is made in his cabinet after consulting and discussing the issue with his members that's why president use we. But Allah doesn't not discuss with His angels. And president use I when he himself issue an order. In nutshell, wherever angels are involved to fulfill Allah's order use WE for Himself. If I am wrong Then surely, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And please correct me. Jazak Allah

I was also thinking why Allah uses 'we' in the quran. And Alhamdulillah Allah guided me to ur video. I- to demonstrate extreme anger or love and we- to show Allah's majesty.
