Other stuff: - Thunderbrew's Boot Flask quest trinket (as seen in Nogg-aholic!) - Defias Pillagers are legendary - The Defias Profiteer does not sell the bracers you were talking about, rather just Agile Boots/Stable Boots/Recipe: Rage Potion; however, Antonio Perelli patrols through Westfall (and Elwynn Forest/Duskwood) and he does carry them, along with other stuff like Wild Steelbloom and Executioner's Sword - Leprithus, a rare ghoul that only spawns at night, drops the lowest level two-handed weapon with a Chance on hit effect on it (Ghoulfang) - Sentinel Hill's graveyard is where you get ported if your character is stuck - Riverpaw Overseers by the high level gnoll area can drop Overseer's Ring (+3 Strength, requires level 15) which is one of the earliest rings you can obtain (these gnoll camps are also okay for AOE grinding, but mind the Mystics) - Verigan's Fist quest zone is kinda cool and hidden (but also a place you go through a lot if you're going from Yojamba -> Westfall) - There used to be a sick Light Feather farm at the graveyard in Moonbrook (the carrion birds also had dynamic spawning in Vanilla, but they nerfed that in Classic) - Reef Sharks! - Cool boats off the coast, and the underwater anchor signifying the spot for the Aquatic Form quest for Druids - Old Murk-Eye's Volatile Infection debuff was used to grief bank alts back in the days... Get infected, HS to SW and stand next to the mailbox for 2 minutes inflicting damage to your friendos. I think it only affects group members now :/ - Keg of Thunderbrew (for the Dry Times quest) has 5 charges so you can use 4 of them and still finish the quest; also it's the first repeatable quest in the game - Kriggon Talsone (the Fishing vendor) sells the recipe for Clam Chowder, Slitherskin Mackerel and Spiced Chili Crab, and you can always fetch a few pennies just by getting a couple of each to auction off; also Kriggon sells lvl 45 fish for Hunters - Rogue poison quest tower! And the lockpicking leveling "trick"... - Chicken quest! - Defias Renegade Mages can be mind controlled and used to buff players with a 1 minute long Fire Shield which deals damage to NPCs currently hostile to the caster, and scales 100% per tick of damage with the NPC's Spell Damage stat - Great Goretusks know Charge (Rank 2) and Gore (Rank 3) making them a decent early pet - Coyote Packleaders know Furious Howl (Rank 1) and Bite (Rank 2) making them at least a little interesting, I guess - Westfall probably has the most mob-specific green drops out of any zone (everything in the Deadmines cave basically has a unique drop, most rares in the zone have unique drops, even regular murlocs/gnolls/crabs/mechanicals etc. all have unique drops) - The whole quest chain leading up to killing Edwin VanCleef with the escort and stuff... (and Horde griefers) - References (e.g. Benny Blaanco from Carlito's Way) - The Defias Messenger's secret message which he only says at the end of the Gold Coast Quarry when not in combat - Red Defias Mask! - Stranglekelp can be found off the coast relatively well - I fished a The 1 Ring from Stendel's Pond - The Deadmines "back entrance" is one of very few fake dungeon portals (climbing up into it actually doesn't do anything) - There's also a forge (and anvil, and campfire for cooking) at Sentinel Hill

Definitely, plus the fact that it also ties into stockades through Redridge and duskwood. You could argue that Deadmines is the culmination of act 1 of human questing, and an introduction to the fact that there's something off about Lady Katrina Prestor...

@@kargozgaming kargbro, these comfy little tours of zones or cities or dungeons or whatever are fun. @jonathanforster8537 It is actually possible that some players enjoy both chill full immersion leveling on one playthrough, then switch to sweaty tryhard speedleveling on another. RXP is for the latter, not the former.

the Human leveling zones are weaved together by quest lines and important NPC organizations that lead to some wonderful stories, making the entire 1-25 leveling journey of Alliance so amazing. Horde's barren route is like a gigantic random wild hunt.

@zihenghe7462 for this reason solo leveling as Alliance works well if you want to lock-in and go full storymode, while small party leveling as Horde in the lowbie zones helps make the slog more social and fun and feels very "horde" as you zugzug through "kill/collect 5/10/15/30 X" tasks!

What I love about Westfall is that it has everything that makes an MMO an MMO. It has a throughput questline that has you exploring all over the zone as well as venturing into nearby zones. It has everything you need for professions. It's a gatherer's wet dream. It has solo content between the zone quest and side quests. It has multiplayer through the dungeon and elite quest. It has grinding spots. The visuals are peak, the soundtrack is the goat. Builds start their deviations in Westfall. Westfall is the first place you start thinking your character looks kind of cool with the stuff you get from DM + finally starting to equip grey quality shoulders and you get your first blues and cloak that stretches further down than the middle of your back. We all know the look I'm describing, it's a total vibe and it's something you don't get as a Horde.

I have been having really bad anxiety lately and I just randomly found this and it honestly helped a lot to just focus your chill demeanor and overall knowledge of the zone. Great video and I would absolutely binge watch a whole series dedicated to each zone and things most players may not know. The secret westfall chicken pet quest woulda been cool to get a mention and I believe there are one or two quests for high level players that go completely missed/forgotten since high level players typically don't ever return to Westfall. (pretty sure its that thunderbrew dwarf that you need to visit for the Dry Times quest to collect alcohol)

Love this form of content, the vibes are really on point with this! I really like to see the perspective on a zone from a seasoned veteran such as yourself. To add on to the format i would love to see you explain the zone in the shoes of a new player - yourself from back in the day perhaps. If you have a zone dump on Dun Morogh i would love to see that, it's one of those zones that just hit that vibe that i personally have neglected for so long in classic, even though it's among my favorites. But regardless of what zone you do next, i'll be here for sure, quality content!

Love the zone. Great quest lines, humans trying to hold onto their farmland, refugees fleeing the chaos, variety of enemies from human, murloc, mechanical, gnolls, first elementals, and wildlife. First instance as alliance. As developed as it is seems like large areas are underutilized, mostly the numerous Gnoll encampments littering the Dust Plains so who knows if more was intended. And of course it was deadly. From pillagers firing fireballs to defies throwing traps to root you, and runners in caves and on the shore line. Not quite as memorable to me as exploring elwynn forest for the first time, but still amazing. Magical.

Fantastic. Westfall is iconic and always enjoy leveling there. One of those zones i always take my time in, love the colors and music. Reminds me of pretending to be sick from school just so i can get a few more levels and have the zone to myself 🤣. We are conditioned to rush to high level asap but in reality early zones and levels can be extremely fun and immersive, just gotta slow down and enjoy the journey..

Just to add, greater fleshripper in westfall is the ONLY MOB IN THE ENTIRE GAME that has rank 1 screech. In other words, if you dont get this bird at lvl 16, you have to wait until 32 to learn it from the birds in shimmering flats. For horde, especially on a pvp server here is the best way - zep to grom gol, and swim straight north, westfall is just 1 zone over from the coast (stick to the surface, avoid the reefs or you will get clapped by elite murlocs) - keep swimming (or running) up the coast to the threshadon carcass you highlighted, and boom youre done. Hearth and pat yourself on the back.

Great video, made me wanna quest in this zone despite hating it by heart. Wish they would've kept the murloc nets in classic, remember farming them on private servers. (They dropped in darkshore too) Magic dust is also very useful in KT fight in Naxx to cc the nerubian adds he spawns.

I like the idea of this vid. Could be good to go through the quests with a quick summary of what you do. If not all quests then at least the key story stuff like the defias line. It will remind you of the things that came up doing the quests, like the absolute deadliness of the most dangerous mob in the whole game - pillagers in moonbrook. Also, mandatory to have the zone music audible and that bird screeching noise muted.
