@sean_4D I'm glad Israel is putting the F-35 to work and sharing their intelligence. American simulators are the best and Israel doesn't have all our technology, especially the F-22. America has the best training facilities in the world. The main reason is the money we spend on training. It's very expensive to operate these jets and basically any mikitary training from the ground up. But the USA and Israel do share intelligence and Israel is strategically very important to the US in helping us move ahead in technology. That's why I'm all for giving them the big bucks of our taxdollars every year. But know way is the Israeli Air Force better than America. We not only have the money, but import the greatest minds from around the world, even from Israel and Iran.

Israeli pilots going through the F-35 B Course (the course that teaches fighter pilots to fly the F-35) are taught by US & Foreign instructor pilots that are assigned to the F-35 squadrons at Luke AFB & Eglin AFB do the flight training. The squadrons are predominantly made up of US pilots, but there are foreign national pilots that are rated as instructor pilots that do train student pilots in the B-course. It's been a standard practice for years. The squadron at Luke that I was assigned with had three instructor pilots from other countries (Norway, Israel and Belgium). Plus US trained Israeli instructor pilots return to their country to continue the training of the F-35 pilots that have went through the F-35 B course at Luke or Eglin.

@@mapanggulo But it's true, the US trains Israeli pilots, and the US also was the first one to learn and fly the F-35, Jon Beesley was the first Chief test pilot ever of the F-35, and the first one to fly it. the US not only trained Israeli pilots they also trained the rest of Nato countries when this aircraft was in development, don't forget Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman were the ones that created all the training courses and the simulator system.

I've worked with the Israelis, Jordanians, Kuwaitis, Yemenis, Uzbeks, Iraqis and Kurds. The Israelis were such a far step ahead in professionalism and proficiency that they had no equal. The Kurds were a far second. You could tell the IDF and IAF took their missions seriously.

The Japanese do to an extent also. The Japanese will usually partner with Lockheed Martin to do these modifications. Israel does the same thing, partner with Lockheed Martin. So a lot of these modifications will come back to the US to be implemented in future blocks of aircraft.

There is no chance in hell that the Canadian Forces is getting F-35s for at least another 15-20 years. Our procurement system is completely broken and corrupt. I speak as a regforce RCAF member who works full time at an airbase and sees what goes on day-to-day in our organization. Our hangar is from the 1950s and is full of asbestos, and leaks water in many multiple places everywhere when it rains. I just don't see the F-35 happening ....like really at all. Every trade is undermanned. Many are at 50% strength. The situation is dire. The only good thing is that my paycheque is unaffected, and the people are solid. It is the infrastructure that is fucked. JR members have nowhere to live, the PMQ's are full with a 300+ waiting list at my base. We sold our house off base and needed a place to stay with our children as we searched for a new house. No military accommodation is available. Pilots have like a 5+year wait to make it through the training pipeline due to lack of staff and resources. Things are really, really bad at all levels. This is because the average voter doesn't care about the military in Canada, and this is reflected in government policy = lack of funding and resources. This isn't the USA. Canadians don't give a shit about the military.
