getting a new tub tomorrow. glad I saw this. I just ordered ahh some off amazon overnight. If my tub isnt 90+ can I disolve the ahh some in a bowl of hot water first then pour it in?

I believe we did already touch base via email but for everyone else. Yes, you can use the gel in a tub that isn't up to temp. You will want to simply dissolve the gel in some warm/hot water first.

@@ahh-some - we did and thank you very much. Dissolving it in a bowl of warm water worked perfect. Im so glad I came across this video as our brand new tub was nasty. Not anymore. Crystal clear and good to go. Thanks again!

I have the gel, can’t I put that a bucket in hot water to dissolve it and put that in new water in my tub that’s still cold?

I agree 100%!! I told my dealer that I was going to purge it when I got it, and they acted shocked. He said “ Well, go ahead if you want to, but nobody else ever does”. I did, and yup, gunk. Love Ahhsome!!

Thanks for posting this. I just got my new tub yesterday and today I purged it using AquaClarity (12.5 oz/450 gallon tub) before the dealer shows up tomorrow to set it up. My experience in the amount of gunk was very similar. Wish I could upload a picture or video of my experience.

Big Thanks for the informative video. This reinforces my suspicion that my new Bullfrog spa needs a bio-film clean. I've had a hard time keeping the chlorine at the correct level. I will be draining my tub a second time and will try your multi-flush, over night soak procedure till nothing else comes out. You used your Aqua Clarity for the primary Multi-flush... can I use your Hot Tub~Jet Cleaner for multi-flushing the same way? Also, does your Hot Tub~Jet Cleaner contribute any Phosphates? At 18:30 you mentioned you put in "Liquid Bleach". Can you expand on that? e.g. why bleach, tub size and amount of bleach. FYI... I did come across an article (Illinois Department of Public Health) that mentions adding sufficient Sodium Hypochlorite (~Bleach) to 20 ppm for hyperchlorination of public swimming facilities. This seems to fit in with your procedure.

HI there and thank you for the comment. My apologies for my delay in responding. To answer your question, Yes you can use the regular hot tub cleaner for a multi-day flush. One dose will allow you to run four 30 minute purges. If you do a full 4 purges, you will need to add more but I would only do so in 1/2 doses. I hope this makes some sense.

Great video and very informative, we have just purchased a brand new HT and are awaiting delivery. I reached out to my sales rep about this and have heard nothing but crickets lol. I will most likely get the no you don't need to from the set up guys as well. But that being said every manufacture has to wet test them so that being said i am gonna purge before we initially use it year round as we are looking forward to using it during our long winters up here in Canada. Not sure if i can get Ahh-some here but i have seen other customers get Aqua Clarity think i will go with AC as do not need the water to be up to temp. Post up a link to your website would be greatly appreciated, unless i missed it somewhere. Thanks again for the great video.:)

Is it safe ok to purge a new tube in the winter with freezing temperatures

Hello and thanks for commenting. This answer is maybe. How cold are you getting out where you are at? In reality, you can safely purge provided you can handle the cold. Also, due to the fact that you will need to drain the water, if the ground is frozen that could create an issue. I have purged and drained tubs in the middle of winter in North Dakota with no issues as I can drain the tub quick and get it refilled relatively quickly so there really isn't to much of an issue there. It just comes down to where are you going to drain the water to and can you handle the cold? I tend to ONLY purge in the winter if the tub absolutely needs it. If it can wait until spring, I would do it then. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
