Why It Was Hard To Leave the Occult | Christian Testimony

The Gospel, the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes: God is the creator of all things. His invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made (Romans 1). He is Holy, meaning He is set apart and perfect in every way (Revelation 4). We have rebelled against this holy and perfect God. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The wages of sin (meaning the payment due for our sin) is death (Romans 6:23). Sin has separated us from God. Apart from Christ our deserved destiny is a very real place called hell with torment and weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 8:12, Matthew 25:41&46). How do we, rebellious sinners, become reconciled with this perfect God? The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16) Jesus Christ, truly God and truly man, was born to a virgin, lived a perfect and sinless life that we could never live (and have not lived) and died on the cross, bearing our sins and God’s wrath for those who will believe in Him (Isaiah 53, John). He died on the cross, was buried, and rose on the 3rd day and is now seated at the right hand of God making intercession for those who believe in Him (1 Corinthians 15:3-5). He is the one and only mediator between God and man, and there is no other name given among men by which we must be saved (1 Timothy 2:5-6, Acts 4:12). We are saved by having faith in Christ alone (not our own good works or anything else) to save us, and by turning from our sins and to the true and living God (Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 Thessalonians 1:9). I got involved in tarot in LA by a well known occult teacher. Did middle pillar rituals. I’m pretty sure I know some of the same people you know Jac. Gives me chills because the seductive nature of this movement really seems like hidden and special knowledge when you’re in it. Praise almighty Jesus for snatching us out of the fire!

Thank you for your courage in sharing your testimony. Thank you Jac, I was involved in the occult too, thankfully God never really let me join an order, but I was also doing all the basic Golden dawn rituals. The occult consumed my life too, you're right, it's like an identity. I was hostile to everyone because I thought i was more enlightened! And these rituals made me feel so unsafe that I had to keep doing them over and over to "protect myself", but it was an endless cycle. It is crazy how these occult books/teachers flat out lie to you. I thought I had this secret knowledge by being able to do horoscopes, but really I was a slave to whatever energy the day presented, I had no autonomy. If Saturn was transiting my moon or something, i was going to be in a terrible place for the next 7 years was a belief i had, for example. God saved me, in large part due to my family's prayers, and also the fact that when i was at my lowest, Christians were the ones who helped me. Now I am on my way to becoming Orthodox Christian and I love it, and feel the peace that I was looking for in all of this crazy stuff. I will say that being involved in the occult did show me that the spirit world is very real and we need to be careful. God bless you!

I am so thankful that the Lord has led you out of occult deception. I know it's so hard to read tone over the internet, but I share this out of love for you and not wanting to see you walk into unbiblical teaching. ❤ Here are some unbiblical eastern orthodox teachings that are concerning (because they go against Scripture): - The equal authority of church tradition and Scripture - The perpetual virginity of Mary - Prayer for the dead - The possibility of receiving salvation after death This is not to say that all eastern orthodox people are not saved (have not repented of their sin and put faith in Jesus Christ alone [not their good works or any other merit] for their salvation), but that I am concerned by the extra unbiblical teachings. Reading magick books has helped me understand the Bible more. The literalness of the warnings and the gods and cosmology. Realizing that the symbols found in magick are actually Holy and heavenly symbols used for evil.

I don’t know why, because I lead a very boring pretty isolated life, but a few years ago I had a total collision with the spiritual realm, for lack of a better word. I’ve been walking with God almost two decades but maybe only really matured this past seven years or so, maybe. I find it hard to judge myself in this. Anyway. One day it’s like Jesus moved in my house. It was such a precious experience. I’ve been down with the Holy Spirit but it was really like Jesus just moved in and set up shop in my home. This was the beginning of my great collision with the spiritual world. Jesus turned it into a master class in spiritual warfare. I knew these things were real, after all I read my Bible and believe every word it says, but that was about it. It was all conceptual. Then one day as I was in my backyard cleaning my pool, worshipping God…I looked up. The sky was full of angels. So I was in awe, started waving at them, smiling so big. Only….they then pointed weapons at me. It was a shock. I even felt some kind of spiritual arrow hit me in the chest and immediately old sins I’d long defeated and didn’t even give a thought to anymore, those sins and temptations came alive in an instant and it was like I’d gone back in time to before I’d been delivered. So I ran inside and went straight to God, like, what in the world just happened. Lol. We went back outside together this time, worshipping in song, and I could see they were setting up some battle array against me, I thought, I’m gonna die. One of them was smirking and laughing at me. But this time I wasn’t afraid at all, not even of dying. Because I knew God was with me. Then another army arrived in the sky and they fought each other. It was incredible. I’m wide awake. Watching this. Time went on and I learned spiritual warfare, got really confident. Then started getting sucked into this spiritual realm. Like another dimension. Cast out entities that came around my territory. I was surprised that there were even humans inside this realm and they had this strange black writing on their skin, on their faces. The Holy Spirit working through me, was always so gentle and respectful when kicking these people out of the realm. I noticed that right away. If we ran into something not human, we just kicked them out like we were the police. But the people….Jesus was so sweet even to them. It really stuck with me. He was using me and my mouth, but we like, shared head space and shared a soul in this spiritual place, like we were really one together. It was cool. And Jesus always took his time to introduce himself as Jesus, king of heaven and earth, and then very politely and gently cast them out. I’ve never been able to look at occult people the same. Before I saw them as kind of scary, like devils. But after that, I can’t help it, I saw how much Jesus feels for them and so from then on, I too, felt that way. Anyway, what I’ve learned….we can not tell between the good guys, very good….and the bad guys, very bad. Jesus does not allow me to interact with any of them other than to immediately cast them out. Several have tried to talk to me but I literally turn my back on them and cast them out that way, it still works even if I don’t face them. Also, we must know our Bible backwards and forwards. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read the Bible because I never stop. I read it on a loop, forever. I hand write it out. Colliding with the spiritual world…It wasn’t always easy and perfect. And I know at least one time, I might have gone spitting fire, casting out a very high up angel from Gods army. I still feel bad about this to this day, but I also know God will smooth that out and make my apologies. You see all we need is Jesus and Gods written word. If we keep our eyes only on those two things, no matter what happens, what we see, what’s going on, no matter how crazy wild…we can walk victoriously and casually shrug and turn our backs on an entire army of evil filling the sky. But we must get our robes white as we can. There must be no foot hold for the devil into our life to mess things up. Any little spot or wrinkle is an open invitation to Satan to mess us up. Sure, we have grace. Jesus covers me when I make mistakes and gives me a chance to be corrected without a hard lesson. Man, do I take that chance every time. That’s grace. We have to learn to be holy. We can’t be perfect, no one can, that’s biblical, but we can get as close to that as we possibly can, and there lies the true power God grants His children. It’s one thing to survIve hell and live for eternity. But there’s a whole lot on offer in this life, right now, that so many are missing out on. I don’t see the spiritual realm much anymore. I don’t need to see it anymore. But I do see spiritual beings in the sky pretty frequently and regularly. That was a gift that never left. And every now and then i might cast something out of that spiritual place. But if everyone could see…my goodness….looking back, Jesus and I conquered my territory and now I maintain it. I now live with a huge target on my back. Every evil being knows who I am, what I’m doing, and they hunt for any way to take me down. Funny this is, it was always this way. It’s that way for you as well. I just got to see it in action.

I want to know a lot about the spirit world because it’s combined with the goings on of earth every day. I don’t know how much I’m supposed to engage though. I want to destroy demons, but I don’t know if Jesus wants me to or if he wants me to stay away and not give time or energy to them. This game is filled with Satanism, a game that is a pure political agenda made as a game, the dialogues and the Origin Characters are all played by activists and they normalize and romanticize degeneracy and the abnormal. Most Hollywood movies have gnostic themes, manga, anime, tv shows, it's everywhere.

The ESV Study Bible has been super helpful for me for years ♥️ I also have the John MacArthur study Bible in the NASB version. My first Bible when I was first saved was a NKJV. I personally don’t read fictional books ☺️ I hope that helps!

The New Living Translation is a good Bible. Mine has footnotes and a concordance in the back. I also like my David Jeremiah Study Bible, New King James Version. This study Bible includes commentary, study notes, and a cross reference system. In the back is a very good concordance.

What do you say to those who say that there is no eternal place called hell? And that Christians use fear to get sinners to come to Christ

This is a great question, Lisa! The reality is that Jesus Christ talked about hell a lot. To say that there is no eternal place called hell is ultimately to say that Jesus was lying. Here are just a few examples. I encourage you to look at these verses in context so that you can see for yourself. ☺ Matthew 25:41 - “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Mark 9:43-48 - "And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than with two feet to be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, ‘where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’" Matthew 25:46 - "And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” The reality of hell is a hard one to wrap out minds around. Praise God that He sent His Son to pay the penalty for us. He offers us forgiveness of sin and eternal life in Jesus Christ! "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." - Romans 6:23

If youd like protection, ask the Lord for His protection and cover the prayer in the blood of Jesus. If you need body healing I would seek out a prayer warrior or an elder at church and ask them if they can pray over what needs healing.
