I think you got it spot on describing martabak as crumpet. That is the closest thing in England that can describe what a martabak manis is, a huge crumpet.

Great video! I was in Jakarta from September to November this year and I was shocked on how modern it has become now. I went to Bali and Tanjung Pinang too. Tanjung Pinang seafood is cheaper than Bali and it is a quiet Island compared to Bali.

If you like oldies things, you should stop by at Surabaya. There's a lot old stories here, including the oldest ice cream parlor (and you should order Macedonia ice cream). We also have submarine museum, the biggest market in South East Asia (Pasar Atom), the biggest mall in South East Asia (Pakuwon Mall), etc. And at night you can go to old town at northern Surabaya.

@1:04 that's PUTU ! you should try. Its soft steam cake w hot melted palm sugar fillings and coconut toppings😋 usually wrapped in banana leaf so you can bring it home its not that big so eat it at home is fine... cuz on site its still too hot thats the steam and sound🎉

Bandung is located on west Java and this is the largest population province in Indonesia with 50+ Millions people. @@JenksandMatilda welcome! It’s the DJI cam that I was wondering about. We use a 15 pro which is great, but for certain filming want something a bit different sometimes

Not the best in low light like the iPhone is and not the best zoom / creating cinematic shots but we've really enjoyed it!
