I recently bought a 2021, 2 door manual Rubicon. I must have searched through 50 or 60 jeeps looking at the service history. The one thing they had in common...no frickin oil changes! What the hell! Mine had a complete and regular history. I love it! I can't wait to beat it up and use it as it was intended for.

I am about to make a anecodatle generalization, but everyone that I know who owns a jeep, including myself, does their own maintenance. Engine oil/filter, axles, transfer case, shocks, brakes etc. electrical and warranty stuff I leave to the dealer. I use amsoil fluids and change the oil every 5k, the other stuff as recommended. Luckily, I do have a great dealer who’s done some warranty work on my jeep that I would trust with other maintenance. A lot of times though engine oil your better off doing yourself to put in higher quality oil/filters, not having your drain plug stripped, and refilling the oil to proper amount.

My 2021 JL 2-door hard-top has been amazing. Better than any car I've had before actually, not that any of them were fancy vehicles (maybe that's where the complaints come from?). No leaks (despite cross-country driving highway speed in heavy rain), very quiet -- unless you remove the back seat, then you get some road noise. Actually flipping the seat up makes it even quieter. Seat comfort is great. It feels like night and day from the JK. I couldn't be happier! I've also heard that this reputation may be earned due to aftermarket modification.

I've got a 2008 Wrangler unlimited X. It has 163k miles on it, and has been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. The only repairs I've had to do are the brakes 3 times, I replaced the starter and alternator at 120k, the battery twice and I put a new coil, plugs and wires at 150k. I'm getting ready to buy a 2017 jk with 14k miles on it and I honestly expect it to be the last car I ever buy.

Wow! I guess I've been lucky, I've had a 2016 JKU and now a 2018 JLU and have never had a leak from the freedom panels and they come on and off all the time. The only issue I have with water on the JLU is after a rain or car wash where the water builds up in the rain gutter, but other than that - nadaa! Now the stereo in the JL seems to get possessed once a quarter, where the volume will just go out and not come back on until the Jeep is off for about 10 to 15 mintues.

At a certain point something is going to fail. Even if just 1% had a major issue at some point that would be at least 1,814 units based off of selling more that 181,000 vehicles last year just under the Jeep brand. I do wish the was better QT but it seem like the major issues are minimal. Thanks for watching!

Vacuum pump and aux battery on the 2.0 is the two I keep running into lol luckily covered under warranty for now. Love the 2.0 turbo, seems to have better engineered parts attached to it other than some of the plastic coolant Ys. The 2.0 rubicon had a lot more get and go, and range of acceleration than the 3.6 rubicon that I test drove. Also I don’t care for the oil cooler/filter housing on the 3.6 as compared to the 2.0. From a DIY aspect, I think the 2.0 offers more room for serviceability and symplicity.

My wrangler was great. I'm planning to upgrade to a 2024 once they are more readily available on the lots. wifes 2014 jk with 130k has been bulletproof. Has its quirks, specifically the steering wheel buttons including cruise control not working all the time. However it is by far the lowest maintenance car ive been a part of owning. Original engine but had a single fuel injector replaced around 100k miles. Original clutch on the 6 speed manual runs like new. We offroad almost every weekend. Found a 2015 jku manual with only 30k miles about 3 months ago and was fortunate enough to get it; Ive never had so much fun driving in my life. I find myself taking the long route on commutes because I just like driving. I also get 22mpg which is shockingly awesome!

I've been wanting to get a Wrangler for the past year or two, but reliability is an issue. I have not talked to a lot of owners, but my main source is Consumer Reports. They ranked it with an overall score of 28 (out of 100). It got a Road Test score of 36/100. Noise, Ride & Routine Handling got 1/5. Fit + finish & seat comfort (Front/rear) were both 3/5. Its highest scores were 4/5 for owner satisfaction & usability. Now the Owner Satisfaction speaks volumes, about people that have them, love them.

If you were buying a Jeep wrangler as your primary vehicle then look elsewhere , it might be good off road and look cool, but as a road vehicle it is pretty sorry in my opinion, not very comfortable seats for driving long distances, lousy fuel economy, rough choppy ride, poor build quality rust prone, loud inside with plenty of wind noise and from the engine, drivetrain , weak acceleration and power, not to mention a bad track record for reliability and expensive to repair , dangerous on the highway with vague steering and top heavy prone to roll overs in a highway speed accident manuever , also bad crash test rating, I wanted one years ago till I actually drove one and the faults I listed were my evaluation of it and I no longer wanted one, I have heard people say Jeeps are fun vehicles, but I couldn;t see how driving this thing around even with the top down could be fun, I would rather have a convertible sports car like a Miata that was zippy with tight handling where I could take it on winding country roads and was fun to drive ,not to mention economical in gas .

A 2021 JL has been amazingly comfortable and reliable to me (albeit only after 2 years). Not sure why it got such a lower score for finish and road quality. It's quiet and comfy! I've done multiple cross-US road trips in it! I never had a fancy car though, so I'm sure those are nicer in a way I've not been exposed to. My understanding is that aftermarket modifications are what cause mechanical issues, or it's electrical stuff -- and I customised it from factory to have all that out as I hate it anyway.

Power trains - V8 and 2L Turbo area no miss (best engines) , but their hybrids - 4xe and V6eTorque stuff - crap as evidenced by insane number of recalls. 2L Turbo is the best - most of the issues with this engine were related to the eTorque components, but since 2021 they completely dropped eTorque from the power-train thus making it the most reliable option.

I personally know 6 guys with jeeps, and they've all had multiple problems within the last 2 years. Some of the jeeps are old some are new and some are middle aged. I also know a lot of people with old toyotas, hondas, even chevys with 300k+ miles that never breakdown. Jeeps are just trash by design, I'd never buy one. Problem is jeeps are built, marketed and sold as a fun offroading toy, and that's exactly what they are, just a toy. Toys don't need to be made to last because that's not the purpose of a toy.

3 wranglers and now a gladiator.all great vehicles.don’t care about stupid petty inconveniences. It’s a tank that goes off road and the top and doors come off. All it needs is a V8 for less than 90k. A hemi option in a ram used to be like 2k.

On every straight axle the is a certain combinations of factors that can cause death wobble. Each one is a little different although most do happen when gaining speed between 35-55mph. If it happens when just going down the road at a set speed the only thing I could figure would be the perfect bump to throw it off haha. It's just one of those things that hard to diagnose without being in it when it happens. Hope it doesn't happen again!

Every vehicle has problems to some extent. I think Wranglers get more leeway than other vehicles because at the end of the day, it's still a wrangler. I think the two that drive me nuts are opening the back glass and all of the water running in, and the drip when you open the door to get in while it's raining. Easily solved by removing the top and the doors, so its fine. 😂

Im a carpenter who daily drives a 2015 jku for work. I always make sure to have a towel to wipe the back window of water. Also, this isnt a problem specific to wranglers, I had a 2011 honda crv before the jeep and it always dumped water into the back when trying to get tools; snow was even worse. The only vehicle ive had that didnt have that problem was a 2009 gmc sierra, however that truck had every other problem known to man. New alternator, throttle body, wheel bearings all around before 70k miles. Never buying a gm product again.

2024 392 is so much better. Traded my 2023 XR 392 and the 2024 is so much quieter, that's with SOT. Feels heavier tho but more solid, could be why the steering feels more regid and stable or the new rear full float axle. I'm not sure why it feels so much solid this time. The whole dash redesign and grille next to my 2023 made my 2023 look dull and obsolete especially the flat bronze wheels. The 2024 look so much sharper, thicker and brighter. The front grille looks more detailed and has that three dimensional feel to it instead of just flat face grille. Kinda weird, from a distance they both look similar until you get closer and start comparing. 2024 392 is really the best Wrangler ever made in my opinion. So much convenience now, with the new safety airbags all around, powered seats, new tech and even the antena relocation makes a lot of sense long term. The brand just became a legit all around vehicle especially with the 392. I still don't get how they didn't put a pair of hood strut bars to lift that 1 million pounds of that performance hood. If modification is the plan, please educate yourselves more about performance, suspension and other stuff related to Jeep. This is my 6th Wrangler and they all have issues except for one that I used to drive to work. That Jeep never given me issues, because I left it alone, no modifications at all. Wranglers are very reliable according to my experience if you leave it alone. If not, you better know what you're doing and be ready on future issues not just looking cool on big tires. Great video!!!! Lots of honest information.
