I had a 2019 trd pro taco. Was briefly part of tacoma forum when I owned it. Never been talked to like a child in a forum before only because I didnt want a king coil over kit. Anyways the truck was annoying to drive, returned poor mpg on miniature 265/75/16 tires and the interior/media bored me to death. Bought a 2020 Gladiator and never looked back.

PERFECTLY SAID! Both my Jeep JL XR Rubicons a 2021 and a 2024 have taken a beating Off-Road. From the rough trails in AZ to Moab. They drive beautifully on the street getting 17 to 20 miles per gallon and never one single hiccup. My 2024 came with 35 inch tires and it is truly remarkable how it performs. The 3.6 L engine combined with the 8-speed transmission and 4.56 gears make this Jeep simply amazing!

Hi I had a 2018 Wrangler Unlimited Sport, the first year of the JL. This Jeep was completely bone stock, no modifications done at all. It did have the death wobble problem one day which to be honest is quite scary when it happens. The dealer serviced the vehicle under warranty and it never had death wobble again. My current Jeep Wrangler has had zero issues. It's probably one of the most reliable vehicles I have ever owned. The Gladiator has had the corrosion issue after only one year but Jeep repainted everything and did a good job fixing it. All in all, my Jeep experience has been pretty good.

Outstanding. And I believe jeep solved the hinge problem with a layer of zinc between the hinges. And jeep put out a tsb is 2022 saying it will cover any issue of corrosion at any level for 5 years. And when they fix it they fix it with the new zinc hinges. We'll done jeep!

I totally agree, I've owed many Wranglers, 86CJ, 88, 2002 (for 15 years) then brought a 2015 Wrangler with the penstar, with very few problems on any of them, Parts were cheap easy to work on, after market parts everywhere, forum support, amazing; also loved the way they all drove! This is coming from a guy who's driven two Audi's and now a Volvo for the past 9 years. The only reason I got rid of it, was the heavy highway driving I start doing some years back, but even now, I still miss driving a Jeep.

I was a little reluctant going into the Pentastar World... but I own a 2015 Wrangler Sahara with 72,000 miles... not one problem. Also owned a 2015 Grand Cherokee Altitude all wheel-drive coming up on 85,000 miles and it's been flawless...either one of these vehicles have made a visit to the dealership! I run with a Jeep Club in Sun City West Arizona and we have never had a club member that had to be helped out of the back Country. I own two Pentastars and two Hemi's... except for putting a water pump on one of my Hemi's at 60k all four of these Mopars have been great to me! Thanks for your content!

You said it from the beginning!! People fail to understand no vehicle can sustain constant modifications and driving hard. The failures on jeeps tend to be on older highly driven vehicles OR due to poorly executed modifications/maintenance (the same as every other vehicle)

2023 Wrangler Rubicon owner, 37” tires with Old Man Emu lift and shocks. I’m a crazy fast off-road driver and had zero problem with my Jeep, 28k miles Oil change and maintenance every 3500 miles, Premium gas only, Mishimoto catch can. I never back to the dealer since day 1 I recommend installing SAFARI snorkel for overland driving, night and day difference on performance

I agree…i have a 2021 gladiator mojave..i have beat it up on washboard dirt road at 70mph..and it drives like new when it hits pavement again… have had it 3.5 yrs and hasnt been back to the dealer for anything but the free oil changes i got with it..literaly… take the top and doors off and its a magnificent summer truck…and snow dont affect it

I have a 22 JT Sport S (all stock) and it had the wobble, but it was not a death wobble, more like a death shimmy. After taking it to a local Jeep shop (the dealer was no help - only has 22k miles) I replaced the steering box for an aftermarket one and new tires, which solved my issues.

An honest, transparent and considerate take, in my opinion. I left my 2020 Ford Expedition w/ the 3.5L Ecoboost and all of it's CAM Phaser/misc engine & electronics issues for a '23 JT Rubicon and have never been happier. Not even a year into owning it and I've logged +17K miles all over mountains and deserts of NM and CO. Plenty of highway power and reliable offroad where it matters most.

Agree 100%. Have owned 9 new f150s with v8, 2.7 and 3.5. All great trucks but everyone of them had to go into the shop multiple times under warranty. My 5th wrangler/gladiator now as well as 4 other jeep models and never once has any of them been in for any repairs.

I’m with you. I have my issues with modern Jeep becoming a luxury brand and charging way too much, BUT I wheel hard and I have never been let down by my Jeeps (6 new wranglers over the last 20+ years [3 TJs, 2 JKs, 1 JL]).

Very nice! And people that complain fail to realize jeep is one of the last vehicles made that is cheap and easy to repair. I can get a brand new full crate 3.6 pentistar motor for 6500!

I’ve had 4 modern Jeeps, 2013, 2020, and 2 23’s. I’ve owned new Toyota’s, dodge, Chevy, etc. The jeeps have been hands down the most reliable vehicles I have owned, even beating it Offroad. So… yeah… lol

Yep many of those early pentistar motors did. Issues like all early motors do. Now it's bullet proof. But took a few years to get there. And they are still cheap to repair compared to what's available new today

First Jeep was a 2014 JKU bought it brand new, 9000 miles in had the oil cooler issue fixed under warranty , 0 problems after that . Traded her in for a 23 Gladiator Mojave very happy so far ,no issues

4th Jeep owner, first being my JK on 37”. I had the common door water leak, fixed and no issues thereafter. Zero. Im on my third JT (2nd being written off by another driver falling asleep). Zero issues with all of them. Currently on a 22’ Mojave, 3.5” lift 37” tires with zero issues. Its been through the ringer as well and keeps on pounding away. Just did a trip and she keeps on smiling. Love the 3.6/8 speed auto combo. It wont win races but its smooth, quiet and returns good mpg considering my mods. I have zero interest in trading it in on any of these turbo cookie cutter trucks. That as of recent have become garage queens. Recall in coming for the new tacoma with faulty transmissions. GM cracked blocks and rangers almost guaranteed will have lifter issues.

As for CONSUMER REPORTS: They have a long history of pushing imports and talking down domestic vehicles. My 2012 Wrangler Unlimited (JK) Rubicon has between 45,000 and 46,000 miles on it as this is written. My 2012 Wrangler has been, without doubt, THE most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. (Yes, this Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has been driven off road---including various trips to Moab while living in Utah from 2012 to 2017 when I shipped it to Hawaii.) Off-road use since 2017 has been limited. (Lava, even old COLD lava, is tougher than razor blades on tires!) I'd recommend a Jeep Wrangler or Gladiator with the V-6 Pentistar engine to anyone who is in the market for a new vehicle, any new vehicle, of these two types of vehicles. Put me down for having 100 percent owner satisfaction with my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Andy McKane, 24 June 2024, Maunaloa, Molokai, Hawaii.

Our family Pentastars: 2011 Dodge Journey 210K miles 2015 Caravan 3.6L 230K miles(Lifters/Cam replaced recently) 2015 Ram 1500 3.6L 190K miles 2023 Gladiator Mojave 11K miles in 5 months. No complaints. Reliable if serviced properly. The ones with the 8-speed are more than adequate power-wise.

Jeep holds value as well, just like toyota tacoma. I did have one little issue with mine in the first 4k miles was a waterpump it wasn't a failure it was just the pully that was making noise, but yeah got right in to ram jeep, replaced no problem.

We have had two Wranglers a 2014 JK and a 2021 JL and other than normal maintenance never an issue not even a warranty claim. We have a 2024 on order and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jeep and I would buy one again and again.

I also abuse my 2014 Rubicon wrangler. I conduct search and rescue operations one to two times a week in northern Arizona back country. Most rescues are in the middle of the night in snow and rain. I have a stock jeep yet I rescue folks in lifted vehicles all of the time. My jeep gets me there and back every time. On the negative side, I have experienced just about everything that folks complain about in regards to jeeps. For example, I have gone through 3 dash radios, 2 sway bar disconnect mechanisms, one radiator, one TIPM, one oil cooler leak, 2 wheel sensors, worn valve lifters were replaced, 5 shocks and other small items that I forgot about. Like yourself, most if not all of this happened because of the constant traveling of road. I don't believe any other vehicle can handle the constant off road use that I give my vehicle. I have noticed that the other search and rescue folks that have lifted jeeps have many more problems than I do. I do recommend that if you plan to travel of road a lot then to keep your jeep stock. Stock Rubicons can truley go almost anywhere. Just get good off road tires. Of course rock crawling is different and does require lifts. I'm sure this jeep will last longer than I will!

Fortunately for people buying new today most of those issues you had to deal with have been fixed. Imagine what any other 10 year old vehicle condition would be in if it did what your jeep does daily.

AZ here as well... I have a JLUR and Toyota. The Rubicon is stock and goes anywhere I need it to, the more weight and more mods the more difficult obstacles which is harder on everything. I have had about $18k in damage/repairs to the Toyota, from body damage the Jeep likely never would have had, to water pumps, steering rack, leaking transfer case etc. and those repairs are not cheap. My guess, is even with your list it's probably a lot cheaper.

Overall, a good review; the only thing you seem very biased about is the death wobble issue. It can happen to stock equipment as well as modified. I made it 16 years and nearly 185K miles before ever experiencing it a couple of months ago, the source was the drag link and tie rod ends finally becoming too worn. Replaced them with the Moog Problem Solver steering linkage system and my 2008 JK Unlimited X is back to steering as good as the day I bought in in the fall of 2007.

Especially 185k miles on a stock front end. That's to be expected. I'm talking about how the internet makes it sound like it will happen to every jeep the second you leave the dealership.

Death wobble. I got it at delivery having to drive 500 miles home from the deal I got. BUT, my dealer fixed it in a two hour appointment. "Jeep Cares" created a "case" on it and monitored the dealer for the fix (the dealer also noted that) and did a heavy duty customer satisfaction survey upon me about a month after me getting it (time to test it I figure) fixed to ensure it was fixed. My dealer said THEY check them over BEFORE they let em drive off the lot, Wranglers too. Not all dealers do this. That costs money and is why most dealers don't do it he thinks. The sales side of my dealer sucks but the service side (who don't like the sales side to say the least) is very good. They have a Stellantis/Jeep specific repair protocol for this particular problem on an OEM unit. He said, the main problem with this is all the after market things... like the video author notes. The problem my service guy said is what they do at the factory before shipping. One they overfill the tires by quite a few lbs. That sets the whole thing up for a trigger. Then if the torque on the front end are not exact, as they should be from the factory, it put things off setting up the wobble along with the HARD overfilled tires. Factory fresh units also will have errors on the front end construction like control arms, steering damper, that are (between him and I he said, quality control problems) and the service dept. check all that and put to specs, if off and report that back to Jeep corporate. So, that was at 500 miles, my trip home, the wobble starts at 56 mph on like . So, they use the specific protocol, double check everything put the tire pressure where its supposed to be even a couple lb's lower and its been right ever since... He noted, he'd heard they got all over the factory for this on brand new ones in middle late 2023 and instituted a CQI protocol within the lines to prevent particularly with 2024's getting ready to start. Mine was built April 2023 before that was instituted. He noted few if any problems since.

@@Jason-Samko Thanks... I dropped my Consumer Reports subscription here after Xmas as they are less and less valuable as a resource. You pointed out one of my own observations. Let's see, IT"S A JEEP. Yes, it's loud, but it has solid axles...and reciprocating steering. DUH... you gotta choice, good offroading and those things are what make the difference OR, all the comfort tech...that has moved away from the old school approach. And I was just on the highway at 85 yesterday and it was driving great and that's how I slipped up going over the 80MPH speed limit. Smooth as could be... Yes, my Gladiator is a bit loud inside, but nothing like some of the KZbin warriors spew on. That's what happens when you come from a Lexus to a JEEP... WE can talk inside and the Alpine system works for me... AND, I can have open air above my head in a minute or heck just take the whole top off if I want to... CAN YOU? Come on people... AND people put ducks in my door. I read one guy who said, you know why Gladiator sales have dropped off so dramatically? He said, it's because they saturated their market (Is that a bad thing?) and sold one to everyone who wanted one and then "Stellantis" raised the prices so high that those people decided to stick with the one they bought instead of "moving up" and potential buyers said, I'm not paying that, I'll get a Maverick. I didn't buy until I was able to check my boxes, get things they didn't have that first year AND I got 30% off incentives... Then I bought a year four version, that checked all my boxes off a dealer desperate to sell em matching the 15% off Jeep incentive. I even got the auto 4WD and limited slip highly valued up here in MT with six month winters. Those were must haves along with the heated seats, spray in bedliner. The "good" audio system was a bonus. AND, they are NOT for everybody... In 20 years, Gladiators will likely be like the old scramblers and worth their weight in gold...

@Redfour5 well said and agree on all points. The only thing that hurts gladiator sales is stellantis and thier stupid msrp pricing. If they priced them for how low they actually sell them for now (closer in line with other midsize trucks) the general public would see that and jump all over the gladiator. But instead they cruise the lot on a Sunday and see 60-70k on the window sticker and move on. If they saw 45k they would be calling the dealer on monday.

My 2012 JK (which I bought new) currently has 230K on it. It's been the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. I had to change the rocker arms at 200K. Outside of that and GM it's completely original stock, including the clutch and exhaust.

Love the 3.6. Great highway gas mileage. 25mpg doing 70 with the air in. Did a 100 mile drive at 55. Got 30mpg. 2018 Grand Cherokee 4 by 4.

@@Jason-Samko Thanks. When I bought it the MSRP was $34,000 with $8000 in rebates/discounts. So $26k for 295 hp, 4*4, and many standard options. Looking back now I feel it was a steal. Only issue was a bad evaporator core replaced under warranty. Wish they still made the wk2. The 3.6 has been great. Only have 26k on it. Wish it had a little more torque. It’s fast enough. No need for the Hemi. My daily commute is 5 miles here in Los Angeles. All stop and go. It only gets 14 mpg in that traffic. Our Honda Accord only gets 20 mpg in the stop and go. Sad to see what Stellantis is doing to Jeep. Great video. Enjoyed the content.

I bought a brand new 2011 JKU wrangler, and the engine died at 50K miles. Engine was replaced and a month after, the tranny went. This was my daily driver, and was maintained regularly. I would never buy a jeep product again, and I have owned a few jeeps before this wrangler. I bought a 4Runner TRD pro and have never had a single issue since I bought it.

OK, I'm 5K miles and almost 7 months into my Gladiator. One build quality is noticably good. Fit and finish were noticably good. My biggest complaint is that stupid auto off and on thing at stop lights. I HATE IT...and now realize that sometime in my third year, both "batteries" will go out, with the auto start battery killing the main one, but other than that, it is a wonderful "rural" truck. And apparently there are fixes... The bed may be small, but if you have to take your trash to a transfer station instead of THEM picking it up at the curb it's perfect AND it fits in parking spaces...as opposed to my Ram 2500 that primarily does travel trailer towing of the 30 foot 7K trailer and LARGE stuff hauling. OK, the Gladiator is not great on gas mileage, but the Pentastar is a proven engine with decent horsepower and torque for its size and will average 18 mpg for daily mixed driving. Not great and It will get better once I get in the 10K range I believe. But, living in Montana, I can get to places like Tizer Lake 4X4 trailhead less than 5 miles from my driveway and YOU can't. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hJ3OZ3d8htiZesk I was just on a light close by 4X4 trail yesterday until I ran into a four foot deep gully (It's Spring) about 10 miles from home and wasn't into the whole 4X4 thing to do it yesterday. So, it gets its share of what it was made for. AND, still not a squeak or reptitious noise after 5K miles. Like I said, fit and finish are great inside and out. It is perfect for trash duty, groceries in the back (tonneau cover) so the dogs don't eat them. And it is fun. I had a surgery so the wife had to drive it a few hundred miles and NOW, she likes it. It's got quick handling and is decent on highways and its always good to sit high. AND for winter driving (I have the "auto" 4WD) it is hard to beat. AND I don't even have a Rubicon or Mojave just a Freedom edition. Oh, and the Granite Crystal Freedom has a "free" blackout/night package in effect, including trail rated badge so I'm getting ducked quite a bit I noticed, didn't even know what it was first time it happened. Now you want luxury, comfort and lots o steel between you and reality? Go for a Hemi 2500, no mess, no fuss like a diesel and will haul 15,000 lbs with 3K in the bed, but for daily fun even on mundane things, I am glad I got my 61ish K Gladiator for 30% off at 42K and change.

I’ve got a 2024 4xe Willy’s with 20,000 hard miles I have zero issues and as of yet just 1 recall for the defrost that never been a issue and I haven’t made appointment yet because I haven’t had any issues but I will take it in on the convenience of my own time lol . We just love this thing and it’s our 6 Jeep and there’s a reason for that lol why 6 jeeps because hey after a couple of years we like new things

I've had more problems with my 2022 Camry (20,000 miles) than my 2021 Wrangler (48,000 miles) - Camry: Driver's side seatbelt latch hard to latch. - Camry: Very noisy AC fan. - Jeep: Rear passenger headrest won't fold down. My Jeep is a 2 door, lifted 3.5 inches, with 35's. I've taken it on some long road trips, Texas- Florida- Nevada. It goes perfect down the highway.

2018 JLU Sahara owner, with 34 inch tires and a 1.5 inch level kit. I have 72k miles and so far its been great, the only issue that I feel I’m having is the steering is very wonky and I know it’s a jeep but do feel there is excessive play in my steering. But love it anyways.

My Jeep Wrangler has 205,000 miles on it currently. It has never had a major mechanical failure. What has broken was generally on me for beating on it and I'm not mad about it. I absolutely love it, have owned 5 Wranglers and they have all been fantastic for me.

Lifted and aligned my 2011 JK. Was plagued with death wobble from day one. Went through and torqued everything once a week, gave it several alignments and it never went away... Until I took it a shop and paid for the alignment. 30 min and $35 later and never had wobble again. LOL

Mate I became a jeep fan after putting 250,000km on my jeep grand cherokee wk2 2011, unfortunately I sold that and bought a jeep gladiator rubicon 2021, I've had already 3 major issues with the Gladiator at only 40,000km, 1st full lost of power steering and all lights turned on on the dashboard, then the transmission 8 speed automatic leaking through the rear main seal, it has been to the delearahip 3 times they keep replacing the seal but still leaks and 3rd it was a drive shaft that came down on the highway but I pin this down to a bad service mechanic at jeep. Overall I love my car it has gave me a lot of issues and the car is stock 😢😢

@fernandoharo1661 good news is it sounds like you only really had 2 problems. I minor and 1 major. The electrical bug thst kicked on all the dash lights (very common today in almost brands do to all the computer crap). And the drive shaft issue as well as the trans seal issue are both related to the trans issue and the dealer not fixing this right. Trans issues are also a problem in every brand right now. But sounds like your dealer is more of the problem. And needs to replace the whole trans. But realistically the jeeps seems to be serving you well if you could just get a better dealer or better service. So good news is once you get it sorted I bet it will treat you very well

Im a 4Runner owner, the reliability of it is already known. But it's not robust like a Wrangler or Gladiator. I think its difficult to achieve the reliability of a 4Runner while being robust like a Jeep. Most Jeep owners that I know that got rid of their Jeeps are because of electronics and the alignment of the suspension can never stay properly aligned.

My 21 Gladiator Mojave has been fantastic, but my cousin’s 2dr ‘18 Wrangler Sport stock has been less than stellar. It wobbles like crazy on the hw. Cheap econobox interior that creaks and rattles everywhere. Her seats broke, one on the rail below, both on the seat folding handles. Both her sun visors broke. She needs to keep screwing two of the hardtop levers so they don’t get loose, etc. Worst is she’s never taken it off-roading. I’m relatively new to Jeep, but maybe they had a reputation for a reason and figured out their shit on the JL/JT generation.

Good video. Two comments though. First, that I personally experienced the Power Control Module failure on my 2021 Wrangler JL. This was the #1 issue listed in one of the articles posted. Electrical gremlins are a real thing with the modern Wrangler. Parasitic power draw is real in mine. At this point I keep mine plugged into a Genius smart trickle charger. I am planning to install a quick battery disconnect next month to get rid of the problem from the parasitic draw. All this said the low reliability is overblown. Second, the death wobble is 100% caused by worn suspension components or incorrectly torqued suspension components. There is a KZbin video out there where a guy tests this and consistently with 100% repeatability induces death wobble in a Wrangler that doesn’t have the suspension set correctly by driving over a 2x4 lumber at relatively low speed.

check under the dash for a dealer installed GPS tracker. its usually wired into the Dianostic plug in and tucked away under there somewhere. Some dealers install them in case the stuff get stolen at their lot. Some dealers just leave them in there when they sell them. this will cause the parasitic draw that you have.

for the v6, there are rocker arm failures, oil cooler failures. The rocker arm was improved in 2022. not sure about the oil cooler, cop seems to break them with a lot of idling. I am hearing about all these failures but I have yet to experience one. hopefully never. the zf8 transmission will probably go out before the engine. I still consider the JL even the 18 model to be quite new and these all have gen 3 pentastar with lightened block and thinner oil, more time is needed to assess the reliability.

OK, I think I have now seen all the videos you have on all the features and talk of the new Jeeps. One thing that has come up in my research is the second battery. Is this for the STOP/START that maybe the smaller almost motorcycle battery is used for? Some say it is best to bypass or remove it. What does it do, why is it need, what happens when it dies and what happens if you remove or remove it? I did see that some people do not know you can more easily remove it from under the fender as apposed to removing it from the top.

That battery is for the auto start stop feature. You can easily bypass it by moving some fuses. Mine I'd already disabled thru my tazer mini

First it was AMC and then it was fiat that really hurt the reputation of the jeep . The military doesn't even use them anymore as general motors has had the contract. I don't know if stilantis will be able to bring it back or not but they have their work ahead of them . The vvt 3.6 is a decent engine but yes if you don't keep up on the oil changes especially if you are pushing a lot of dirt and sand through them. They have the issue with the rocker arms dropping out on them because the tensioners get clogged or the springs collapse. I'll take an old school jeep with a small block Chevy swap in it .

I love my jeep gladiator but is not reliable specially with the corrosion problem 🤬🤬🤬 I have for 9 months and it’s go to the dealer 7 time for warranty repair rear main seal leak,power steering pump,rear lock differential,corrosion in the hood, corrosion in 1 door,noise coming from the computer module, tail gate break light.And is only 39k miles ☹️ the biggest problem is I’m still like my jeep.

Top mounted oil.filters are used by many manufacturers. And the history of the 3.6 proves there is not any oil issues. If there was they would of fixed it a decade ago. My 2 cents.

Saw one KZbin video with a wrangler JK channel where the guy suggested (and supposedly this is also in the manual) how to avoid “dry start” issue by fully pushing both brake and gas pedal (or clutch and gas pedal) and pushing the start button (key) for 5 seconds. That doesn’t start the engine but circulates the oil back into the engine. He even measures with the dipstick how much oil is circulated back into the engine by doing that. It needs to be done only if you didn’t drive the vehicle for days.

I own a 2023 392 XR 4000 miles, son in law has 2023 Gladiator Sport with all the Willy’s parts Teraflex leveled 12,000 miles 35’son AEV wheels, Oldest daughter 2015 JKU Sahara 3.5” lift, control arm correction brackets done at time of lift, 35’s on DV8 wheels 112,000 miles (30k on the lift), wife 2013 JK 2dr Sport S 6SPD, 120,000 miles (45,000 on lift) 2” lift 33’s, youngest daughter 2013 base 2dr sport 170,000 miles no lift 33’s. No death wobble on any. Maintenance and ball joints were done on the high mileage Jeeps. Stock control arms,& bushings. Buddies wife 2023 4xe 10,000 miles bone stock death wobble twice. All they did was replaced the steering stabilizer under warranty . 🤦🏻‍♂️

But then again everything will break in 100k plus when used in offroading or overlanding. Same with 4runners that dinosaur drive train is proven and tested so its worth the money. Thank you for the very informative video. Looking at getting my first Jeep. One thing that puzzles me is when I read a forum on the discussion of the possible dry start due to what some claim to the oil filter being dry at start up, someone who sounds very knowledgeable will say something as to the design of the motor and there is NO dry start and the next person says that there is and the next will say oh they just want you to buy their product to keep the oil in the filter. So with all of that said, who truly knows the answer to people that may be worried about it?

Top mounted oil filters are nothing new. And I love it as I change my own oil! If top mounted oil filters were a problem so many manufacturers wouldn't use them. I have zero worries. And the history of this motor proves it's nothing to worry about in my opinion.

That sucks you lost money on your Tacoma my buddy had his for a couple years, SR5 4-wheel drive & he just sold it he said he broke even, maybe a few dollars in his pocket but he definitely didn't lose. Sucks Toyota change their new truck I don't think it's going to have resale like the old ones. I went with Tacoma because of their reputation & my buddy got one in 2001/02 & I always wanted one after that. Guess it's a "Jeep thing" hahaha cause i don't kno anything about it. Tacoma is an amazing truck. The reason I lost money is because when I bought it at the end of 21 everything was msrp or higher. I got 500 off msrp and sold it 20 months later with 60k miles on it. Had it been anything other than toyota and I could of got 15-20% off when I bought it I would of broke even or made a couple dollars. Resale Value is always only in the price you pay, not the price you sell it for. And toyota doesn't deal well in the beginning.

jeep hit it out of the park when they added the two extra doors back in 2007...since then regular families could now justify a Wrangler...they grand slammed it with the gladiator...the only thing that comes close to that in truck form and functionality is the old Toyota FJ45 pickup from the 60's-70's...if you are only buying it for the status, then you will be dissapointed with the ride and noise...if you are buying it for practicality then that is the least of your concerns...I hate being the jeep fangirl...but we were getting tired of getting stuck in our own driveway each winter and no longer wanted another full sized truck...my partner likes them but I hate driving around crowded parking lots in them...they are nothing but one giant blind spot....in 2017 after having to get our mini-van pulled out of the snowed in driveway for like the 20th time...we drove straight to the Chrysler dealer (well the following Saturday) and picked up a new 2018 JK Willys with the limited slip rear end...problem solved permanently...six years now and not a single warranty claim....NOT ONE!!
