id love to give credit too is Jimi's band members who are very often overlooked. Jimi is a legend of course, but Mitch Mitchell his drummer and Noel Redding his bassist in the Jimi Hendrix Experience should be remembered. They kept up with the legend during his performances and albums which shows how talented and skilled they were and you can argue are right up there as one of the best rhythm sections of all time. One thing I appreciate about Hendrix too is that he knew this! in songs like All Along the Watchtower and Hey Joe he really lays back and lets them carry the song and I mean the bassline in hey Joe is absolutely awesome.

Mitch will always be one of the best drummers ever in my opinion and Noel was an awesome musician but I don't think that he was very satisfied. I have heard that Jimi wrote all of the bass lines.

If you really want to learn guitar, never even attempt a hendrix lesson until you have been playing for 10-15 years or you will become discouraged. I always hated hendrix because I seen his music as an impossibility to learn.

@@GuitarPilgrim That would be awesome! I started learning piano a few months ago and it is crazy how quickly it started to click just based on my minimal music theory knowledge and by using my ear to figure out extended chords. It could be interesting to see how you have taken what you know on guitar and translated that over to piano (and vice versa). Cheers!

Back in the late 70s I used to own a box turntable. It could play up to seven Hendrix LPs with no deterioration in sound by the time the last album was playing. It had two small box speakers. I would set it up before going to sleep at night. The Hendrix sound lulled me to sleep and would still be playing when I woke the next day. Much later, I bought a six stacker CD player. I too have no anxeity problems.

Hendrix saw the guitar as an extension of an acoustic guitar. In other words he saw it as a piece of technology. He wanted to create textures not just playing notes ect. His genius lies right there turning a usually comping instrument to an up front snorting, fire breathing dragon.

I'd never forget the first time I heard Jimi Hendrix. It was one of his hit singles named "Fire". I heard it in movie that I don't recall the name of. But from those moments, as a non musician, a child who didn't even knew what to call this type of music, I was singing the riff of that song in variety of ways that Hendrix played it on stage. And when I finally heard the song again, I was even more than happy to know, that the song has lyrics. Thanks Jimi. For me, you did more than enough and leaved. I'll be playing your records, all nights long, brother.

Thanks you Steve, very much appreciated! For me it was very simple, the moment I heard The Beatles when I was a young kid, I knew I was going to make music for the rest of my life. I started to play guitar around ten years old and later on went to the conservatoire to study guitar. Only to quite playing the guitar all together after just a few months being there and decided to study classical piano instead, which I did and was a lot of fun! That was years ago, now I enjoy making videos playing the guitar again, none of this was planned, it just kinda happened, life is like that wouldn't you agree?

Guitar Pilgrim Thank you so much for replying! Your story is very interesting and, though it contains several unexpected turns, has two details which I would have expected: namely that you have had a considerable formal grounding in music and that all you do comes from genuine love of music. It interests me especially that you found things in formal study which you didn’t like and yet found a way - by shifting instrument - to continue. I am struck in your videos by both your skill in playing and in identifying the characteristics of other players. Best of all, you get to the heart of rock and roll while keeping free of false attitude. I am grateful for all of this. Thank you, and warmly, again.
