But are also gradually improved as they become better friends.

In the movie, Carl shows him an amateur frog drawing and Jimmy shows him blueprints for a "2nd prototype" and Carl secretly feels inferior for a second. What I love about that moment is when Jimmy says "that looks great Carl" he means it 100% and sees his blueprints as equally decent as Carl's frog. I honestly love that character moment because it shows how smart Jimmy is, how doofy Carl is, and how neither of them see themselves as any more important. Why did I try so hard in phrasing this correctly?

I always felt sorry for Jimmy; since he was treated so poorly by many others. Sure; he may be a bit egotistical, but I always figured that he was that way because he was compensating for a lack of self-esteem; given how he was mocked for his height and lack of athletic ability. And frankly; Jimmy Neutron is not sexist. His beef with Cindy Vortex was over a rivalry between them. Cindy always sought to prove herself superior to Jimmy, and vice versa. Apart from Jimmy; the smartest student in the entire school is Cindy. Naturally; the two would be intellectual rivals, and every time Jimmy caused a girl distress directly; that girl was always Cindy, and it was almost always payback for something Cindy did to him. That's often what kids do, so no; I don't think Jimmy is even remotely sexist.

I'm glad you made this! I agree with you. Jimmy was never the cool kid for being smarter than his peers, and they actively put him down, which is a realistic thing that would happen among 10 year olds. Within his family, he's also misunderstood. Hugh isn't that smart and just wants the best for his son, and Judy probably knows it's better to support her son (within reason) and give him the appropriate attention for his smarts, so he continues on.

Man I literally just remembered I had a Jimmy neutron toy when I was a kid. After all these years, and never forgetting the show for an instant, the one thing related to this series was my having a Jimmy toy. Yes it was a jimmy will a yellow shirt though I don't recall if it was the one in the video or not. Now I remember being disappointed it had a yellow shirt though because he never had one in the show and I wanted an accurate toy. Hell I think the toy i had was out either before the show started or very early into its run. Though the movie will always have a soft spot in my heart. As well as that glorious start to the series "When pants attack". Oh! I loved that special so much and it was about freaking pants for God's sakes.

Way I see it, Jimmy is a child genius in every sense of the word. One can say he was too smart for his own good at times. I’ve always hated the claim that he doesn’t care about Carl and Sheen and is only friends with them because they’re dumb and quick to praise him, or easy to manipulate for his tests. Admittedly he does use Carl as a guinea pig a lot, but it’s clear that he deeply cares about them both. They became friends because they were all bullied in school and they were the only ones to give each other a chance. Before Cindy and Libby started hanging out with them, they didn’t have any other options for friends. They also bond over some common interests like movies and video games. Plenty of episodes were dedicated to him building inventions/spending time helping Carl and Sheen, like when he helped Sheen get smarter. There’s plenty of other things people exaggerate or misinterpret about his character but that one always bothered me

About the whole "Jimmy Neutron's a sexist" thing. I always figured that him being at odds with Cindy had to do with the fact that Retroville's supposed to be a throwback to the 50's and 60's of small town America. You've got all these wild hairdos, kids hang out at a milkshake parlor, antiquated viewpoints betwixt boys and girls, that sort of thing. That's why, while the boys in Fairly Odd Parents were obsessed with getting the girls they like to notice them, the boys in Jimmy Neutron were more aligned with the Cooties school of thought. This eventually dissipates over the course of the series as the characters grow more and more until Jimmy and Cindy are basically in a relationship in all but name. So yeah, that's my thoughts on that.

I've never seen Jimmy as an unlikable character. Is he abrasive at times? Sure. Does he cause a lot of his own problems? Of course. A lot of other Nicktoon and cartoon protagonists in general get themselves into major trouble they have to get themselves back out of. Hell, I wouldn't even say Jimmy is the least likable character in the show. Carl, Carl's parents, Cindy, her parents, the principal, Nick, the gym teacher, and other characters would rank worse for me. Jimmy is just a genius trying to act normal, but gets overzealous with his genius, and messes things up sometimes. He fixes his mistakes at the end of the day though.

Guys, the reason why his voice was changing was actually because he had to replace each of his clones that he accedently zapped with aging serum with different amount of doses to prove to Cindy how much of a man he is....very poetic Jimmy, I applaud you👏and ya, he told me that the other day, I followed him on facebook. ...also the reason why his mouth wasn't moving was because he accedently drank a bottle of glue instead of the glass of milk next to it while he was making his clone machine. It's still remarkable that some of his clones who have carried the glue symptoms, mouths could actually move at all.

Jimmy may not have been my most favorite character from his own series but was never seen as unlikable. He was a pretty damn Decent Child Protagonist to be perfectly honest, I would consider Modern Timmy Turner to be completely Unlikable in a sense.
