I also used to hesitate in choosing which app to learn with, and now I feel that choosing MochiKanji was a wise decision and I find this app helful in reminding me to re-visit the learned words at the good time. So nice!!

Japanese was the first language I ever learned, (starting when I was 11 years old) and it was honestly a lot easier than I had expected. I really enjoyed the process of learning kanji and found it to be very fun, logical, and intuitive. However, I think the hardest part about Japanese is the fact that there are SO many different pronunciations for each kanji, depending on the context. There's just SO MUCH MORE memorization required that many other languages don't have (I say this as someone who has studied many different languages).

Hey, I won't lie its kind of crazy seeing someone like you on KZbin. Mostly because of the language choices. The paragraph below will explain my reasons for learning and the one after will be my question. That way its not so scary reading a block of text. Currently, I am learning Japanese. I have been for the last 8 years as they offered it in my High School as a foreign language. I have since worked to gain the experience I need to move and eventually work and live in Japan. However, I would love to learn either Scottish Gaelic or Welsh. The reason? My father and Grandmother are Scottish, having both been born in Dundee, and his father (my grandfather) is Welsh, from Cardiff. Currently I'm more inclined to learn Scottish do to it being my father's tongue and to help it from dying. But I also want to learn Welsh to be more connected to my grandfather. My question is, how do you keep up learning all 3 language? What tips do you have? And should I only choose one between Scottish and Welsh or both? And if only one, which should I choose? Also, I find that I learn best from books, I know its a bit weird, but if you have any recommendations for Scottish or Welsh textbooks that'd be very helpful. Thank you and I hope to hear from you! I also hope you have a wonderful day!

I took Chinese in high school and my teacher had us learn traditional characters instead of simplified because he learned Chinese in Taiwan, so Japanese kanji is cute compared to what I had to deal with in school.
