Halloween is related to Samhain an Irish tradition from like the beginning of the country having people generating myths so way longer then 2000 years and existing before Catholicism getting to that country and destroying the traditional stuff, and even later a few hundred years before in England and the United States the witch trials. it’s related to the seasons ye old spring summer fall winter except it had different names and specific days relating to the Solar and lunar solstices. Farming was really hella accurate and useful back then. (Don’t forget Ireland has unique location geographically and the seasons back then would be different then today) Because Samhain is in fall when it’s both harvest season and a time when the forests are adapting to winter thus a visual deadening and cold temps. There’s a lot of joy and a lot of fears. You want to be prepared for winter but also celebrating the joyous things you did that summer get that last of your wild spring energy out before that seasonal depression hits Halloween as it’s celebrated today to me is a very American tradition outright. It use to be a cultural tradition but the things you would dress as would be localized characters or creatures to ward them away and now it’s industrialized and it has more to do with an individuals experience that night and parties which fair you can’t act like it’s Vegas everyday but Halloween hits and everyone goes wild because finally you’re allowed to without an hoa violation usually Like Halloween was so that homeowners didn’t have to deal with punks ruining their stuff when they partied like drunk monsters but giving them a specific party where there’s rules, bobbing for apples and useless shit, so that don’t ruin your lawn decor this gentleness/made-for-your-fun/pleasure regulated, is now the spirit of the holiday.

I remember growing up I also went to a Korean church in Tacoma and we had lock in for pretty much every holidays. For one lock in I remember being a menace and locking my younger brother in one of the closets at the church and I can't remember how long he was in there for but I do know was that we were able to watch a whole movie before one of the youth group member found him crying.

Every time I think of Kanye I get angry, because I could never lose billions without my soul leaving my body and strangle me to death.
