I am so pumped that you two did an episode together! I've followed Katie's content all the way back to the beginning. Funny, because I remember when Renee started with WWE, and one of my first thoughts was "this woman is like the Katie Nolan of wrestling!" 😆

Garbage Time was probably one of the best shows on a TV sports network ever. It can't be listed at the level of PTI because of how short its run was. But it was more entertaining than 99% of the other shows out there. And you can still watch old episodes on KZbin and laugh out loud watching it. Dan Soder and Katie Nolan were amazing together.

She doesn’t have the talent. ESPN spent a bunch of money and prop her up with a ton of people around her and she wasn’t successful. She’s cute and she sounds good but she doesn’t have the talent she doesn’t have the chops she doesn’t have the knowledge she doesn’t have the experience and she’s lazy. You should hear some of the things that were coming out of ESPN by people that were bullying to honestly talk about her there. People thought she was a joke. She got her job to begin with because she was a cute girl. A net work? LMAO!

She is the first one to leave ESPN and have s great take on the company. You usually hear bashing and bad stuff. It's obvious that it wasn't a platform got her to exceed. Her talent is hard to transfer in a male dominant sports business. She is good looking and has that rate sarcastic dark humor. And you just don't see that In this business. She needs something of her own with a name co host that brings the eye balls. She basically I'd good but falls through the cracks of the status quo.

Thanks for the great insights! ESPN+ is a joke. Why must people already paying for ESPN/ESPN2 be forced to pay more to view ESPN+? For years it was just a replay channel or deep dive on written content only addicts of a sport would ever bother to read. I'm sure sometime soon in the new universe, ESPN online content will all be behind a pay wall. I will stop using/viewing ESPN for good at that point. I've found the wonderful world of varied podcasts is the latest shift away from the conglomerate attempt to strangle all innovation and creativity in the market place. Good for this little channel!!

i always feel that where ever Katie is, either she doesn't want to do some of the typical stuff they make women do over there, or that they didn't have an actual idea where they wanted to place her on air...or both. It always seemed like she did these funky, off-beat 'one off' shows that were these off in the cut, with low viewership , that aired nights, early mornings or on some random app or streaming channel nobody watched. It was the same at FOX...its like she doesn't wanna be pigeonholed, and since she is a talent, they keep her around, but in the end it seems the shows she does never ever gain traction. Basically her high-profile stints are mostly on-air appearances on other people's shows as a panelist or commentor.

I think Katie Nolan is really good and has an ideal personality for television (probably non visual platforms, too, I guess) but nothing she's done seems to stick. I am not sure what it is but people less talented than her have seemed to gain traction but she seems in between worlds: kind of a comedian but not officially enough to do that; definitely sports minded but never put in a head role for that side of things (from what I've seen). I hope she lands something that takes off--I just haven't seen it yet. Good interview.

Beat writers from alot of different teams provides content that's amazing just without being on a TMZ CNN ish known as ESPN. ESPN doesn't know whom they are right now. She got hired for being a cute girl that had some hot tanks but you can’t build a program around that. There have been several people from ESPN once they left that talked about what a terrible person she was. She thought she was a diva and she doesn’t have anywhere near the talent to be what she is promoted to be. They surrounded her with tons of people producers writers promoted her and she still failed. She was better when she had her one little gig in the closet for a few minutes. It’s one thing to be witty and have a few hot takes. It’s another thing to have an entire show.
