**Edited for clarity** I loved Kendrick's answer because I think there's still way too many people, even amongst some Kendrick fans, who claim the difference between him and Drake is that Drake is "too emotional" and therefore "soft," which is why he is weaker than Kendrick. That assessment is very misguided in my opinion, and this recent interview is a great illustration of why that mindset is wrong. Drake is not weaker because he is more emotional than Kendrick. Kendrick is clearly a man with strong, powerful emotions, including sadness, grief, love, fear, regret, anger, etc., but the difference is that Kendrick has learned how to process his emotions in a healthy, mature way and channel them into his art. Drake does not have the maturity or confidence to work through these big feelings the way Kendrick does. A man is not strong because he lacks emotion - a man is strong based on the way he handles his emotions.

Kendrick fan's critique of Drake is your second paragraph. I don't know where you got the energy from that first paragraph from. The reason we are fans of Kendrick is because of how he expresses himself emotionally in a mature manner. We can't be fans of the person who made Mr Morale and also claim that we have a toxic outlook of Drake's misguided fragile emotional state. We accurately analyzed him in the same way you have for over a decade now 🤷🏽♂️

@kmdunruly22 күн бұрын
How is he changing hip hop for the better.?
@BudJr21 күн бұрын
@ Here’s one example of how Kendrick is changing hiphop for the better. Kendrick Lamar is one of the biggest/greatest rappers of all time. But unlike other rappers on his level, like Drake, or Eminem, he didn’t get to this point in his career rapping about bitches and money all of the time. By the way, I like it when rappers rap about women and money. Kendrick has a couple club songs just like that. Drake as a person just annoys me, but imma always turn up when I hear Hotline Bling. There’s nothing wrong with making music to turn up to in the club. But if that’s the only type of music you make, it will inevitably get boring and generic. It also shows that you’re not a versatile artist, you’re a one trick pony. I think one trick pony is the perfect way to describe Drakes music. A good 95% of Drakes songs are catchy club songs to turn up to. He never attempts to challenge himself, and make music that will actually make people use their brains. Kendrick mentioned this in Euphoria. He told Drake, “I make music that electrifies them, you make music that pacifies them.” Kendrick wants upcoming artists to know, that you don’t have to be a one trick pony to be successful. You don’t have to brag about wealth and women all of the time to be on Drakes level someday. Kendrick is changing hiphop by letting upcoming artists know that if you want to make music with important messages, or with lyrics that actually mean something, you should do it. Don’t let artist like Drake make you think bragging is the best way to be successful.
@kmdunruly21 күн бұрын

Once you’re true to yourself and make the music you like and people love it you already won 😂😂😂 you look at Kendrick like he’s a god or saviour then claim he said he’s not.. @BudJr21 күн бұрын
@@kmdunruly I’m black by the way, that’s why I care about what you call “shit”, and wouldn’t consider music uplifting my people to be woke. And clearly, millions of other people care too. If they didn’t care, Kendrick would’ve lost. But I understand your point. Kendrick definitely makes a whole lot of pro-black/activism music. But, unlike Drake, Kendrick used this battle as a way to prove that he isn’t a one trick pony. The whole battle, instead of proving his versatility, Drake just made more catchy bops like he always does. People say it all of time. Kendrick is amazingly talented, but he can’t make a club beat to turn up to like Drake. Then BOOM, he put out Not Like Us, a BANGER club beat that was number 1 on the charts. Not only was Not Like Us the number 1 song on Apple Music, which is a spot Drake always gets, but Kendrick didn’t even have to stoop to Drakes level to make a #1 club beat. He spent the whole song bragging about how amazing he is, and sounding catchy, just like Drake always does, but in the last verse of the song, he took Drake’s ridiculous “Free the slaves” line, and used the line to breakdown the reasons he thinks Drake is a fraud. Kendrick said,”Once upon a time, all of us was in chains Homie still doubled down callin' us some slaves Atlanta was the Mecca, buildin' railroads and trains Bear with me for a second, let me put y'all on game The settlers was usin' town folk to make 'em richer Fast-forward, 2024, you got the same agenda You run to Atlanta when you need a check balance Let me break it down for you, this the real nigga challenge.” When Kendrick was done bragging, he used Drakes own words against him to teach us a lesson in black history, and explain why Drake only cares about black culture when he can make some money from it.

What re you talking about this beef been over. I wish ya’ll will stop talking about it. Kendrick has moved on ya’ll should too. Having SZA interview him was perfect because she used to date Drake. That was chefs kiss. Now can we talk about other music.

Kendrick's life, mission and purpose is soo much bigger than drake or a rap beef!!OMG! People's interpretation and comprehension is like on some 3rd grade level and it's exasperating! @ His Self Awareness, Character, Emotional Intelligence, and Spiritual Alignment play an Integral part of who he is .... If you do not possess and or even striving to possess these qualities, you will never understand the depth of what he said in this limited but chock full of information article.

If true, I honestly believe this has nothing at all to do with an issue with Drake, or simple “hip-hop beef”. Like any artist in history that has had both success and impact for a while, he might be growing analytical. He could very well be analyzing a bunch of stuff, that are about his life in general…and have zero to do with Drake. This same thing happened with Janet Jackson in the mid-90s. In the mid-90’s, there started to be a bunch of controversy that Janet Jackson was being abused by her husband, had issues with Madonna, and was distancing herself from the whole Jackson family. When she put out The Velvet Rope in 97, everyone believed the album/songs were all about that stuff; even though the album was actually about her own mental state and self-esteem. The same kinda stuff happened with Michael, Prince, Madonna, Tupac, and so many others. At least wait for the album, the interviews, and the album reviews come out before the speculations happen. If we claim the guy to be an “artist”, why box him into the same hip hop stuff we’ve seen before?

I'm already starting to think that the industry is the ones that did all this. They gave him all this dirt. They gave him all this stuff to use against drake, knowing that Drake couldn't clap back if he didn't have his Ghost Riders intact. It's too coincidental that is the super bowl, and then it turns a round to where he's in the Super Bowl halftime show question mark that does not make sense. He would truly have to be a prophet. Nobody can see that far ahead in the future man we have people that have claimed to have time traveled that they get some things right but not everything, yet Kendrick Lamar was years ahead of Drake. Listen to that track with baby king where he's like smoking on top five, he says burn that hard drive. That made me think of the hundred gigabytes for your head that Drake tried to drop two different times he told them burn that s*** years ago. To me there's no way that you can be that prophetic for that time frame unless you're seeking counsel from somebody that you should not be communicating with whatsoever or, everybody in the world helped him with this. He's an artist that would disappear then reappear, and now all of a sudden he's just this dude that knows everything? I don't understand all that man. I understand growth, and I understand becoming a better person and learning, but knowing things happening before they do, that's a whole different world. Kendrick did not do this by himself. Whoever sends him the stuff that Drake dropped or lost luggage, and there was no way he was just out there for no reason. Not only that but to have the songs already playing in the background and it was a year prior? That all just tells me that everybody had a role in this and this was meant to also bring back old hip hop like 50 Cent's popping up now and look cubes even making music. The west coast and Hip Hop is alive again and that's all because of what they wanted to hide. Either way, k. Came out on top and thankful he did but I wouldn't be surprised if AI played a huge part in all of this. I'm not trying to take away from kendrick, but how can you be that on point about every little thing for that long of a Time unless you have inside, and I'm not talking about the dude inside of ovh○○
