Because they choose their individual freedom over the growth of their so-called communities. It's like celebs who have billions and run on platforms of "community", but their work outside of talking out of their asses, which benefits their wealth more than anything, stops at donating a few thousand dollars a year after they spent 20x that on a 5th car. They don't like people who get in the way of those freedoms and use community dynamics to shame those who are actually doing what's best for the community. Gangs are the perfect example. How are you going to terrorize and keep your community stagnant, then act like the occasional protection and false sense of family is worth the damage. If your community has to survive you on top of surviving everybody outside, you are just another problem... a problem in denial, but a problem nonetheless.
