as a mature 12 year old, i personality agree and disagree with this update. i think that people that are 10-12 year olds are mature enough to not be giving personal information out to random strangers online. yes i understand this is for the safety of children on roblox but removing features instead of fixing moderation is in my opinion crazy. people need to understand that 11-12 year olds are in MIDDLE SCHOOL! yes MIDDLE SCHOOL.... some 12 year olds are even in 7th grade like wdym we cant chat we're pre-teens. atleast make it so you can chat with prople who you are friends with on roblox not just removing chat completely

It’s kinda sad. These rules are pretty intense. I’m well over 13 but i know some are not. Imagine spending robux aka money on a game that’s now has moderate maturity or higher (they deserve a refund but that’s never gonna happen). Or progressed so much over the years, just for you not to be able to play it anymore. Also this is actually harming so many games… mm2 went from 200k to 90-100k. I get that for some games you need to be older bcs they’re scary or extreme. but some people can’t even play simple games like mm2 anymore when mm2 isn’t even that bad. All bcs some rotten apples had to ruin it and parents don’t watch their kids online. It’s sad roblox is held responsible for the job that parents should be doing…

This is such a sad update. I’m 15, and play Roblox with my 10-year-old brother a lot. Now most of the games we’ve played together are unplayable for him. All the game passes he’s bought in those games are gone (idk if they’ve been refunded or he just has to wait until 13+??) and he DOESN’T KNOW YET.

Easy fix: make it so you can only chat with friends you are already friends with, and you can't chat with new friends you are now just adding until a parent approves it using parental controls. You also can't use the private DM feature until a parent approves it either. You can only chat with friends in experiences

As a low ranked roblox veteran, I miss when roblox's moderation wasn't as stupid as it is now. Things I want list - 1. I joined roblox in 2013 so I have seen many changes 2. Since 2022, a lot of players have bypassed s*xual and inappropiate clothing. It has gotten worse than ever before. Yes back when I joined, there were some people like that, but it wasn't as bad as it is now. 3. Roblox used to be a platform for children (still sorta is), but its become more for older teens and young adults like me.

Roblox moderation has just gone too far. This includes ages 10-12 as well. That’s PRE-TEENS. Not to mention that games are about to loose TONS of their players, resulting in less money made for both Roblox AND the game creators. Hate to say it, but 5th grades are more than capable of knowing whether or not to leak their info online to a stranger. This, I feel at least, should be a decision by parents and not Roblox in general. Parents are more than capable managing their own children rather than an app doing it for them. JUST AN OPINION!!!

I'm a few months from turning 18 and I honestly think this is really good. I was a dumb kid online with too much unrestricted access and I ended up being taken advantage of many times from people I met on Roblox. Kids under 13 aren't "mature" (as other comments suggest) becasue they literally don't have the experience you need to safely interact on online spaces and properly recognize when they are taken advantage of. If anything, maybe I'd allow the parental controls to make exceptions for chatting with certain accounts (eg. mom allows their child to talk with friends from school on Roblox but that's it). Other than that, this is a positive update in my book.

Even though the parental controls are “bad” to other kids it’s for your safety to keep yourself away from dangerous people. As a 16 year old girl, who is not under these restrictions, there are positive yet not quite thrilling sides to this thing here. First off, the chat restrictions are pretty okay. Kids these days learn to become toxic little craps just because they learnt it off of someone else. This is mainly because of social media, where being toxic... is normalized. They learn off of big games such as Roblox, Fortnite, and other games that you could simply name off. This update can refrain one of the top social/multiplier games to becoming a bad place, and become more of a toxic-free zone. Besides, toxic pre-teens are way too common nowadays so HAH, getting what they deserve. Now the bad part is communicating with your school friends. This is a difficult situation, but you kids should know ways around it. The app "messenger kids" is a great way. It is an app where your account is restricted/private, but at the same time you can message people you know such as your parents and friends at school. It is safer and you have all the communication you want without hashtags! You can also video call your friends and send pictures. All you need to do is set it up with your parent and get your friends to get it as well, unless they already have it. It's a simple thing and hashtag free! Take notes, kids! On a side note, even if you're mature, it's best you don't talk to adults. You could potentially get caught with them, and you'll get into extreme trouble! It wouldn't be *any* better for the adult in question, either. You have no idea whether someone is an adult or not just through text! Safety awareness!!
