When you hit a diamond with a ship design then there's no need for a new ship just upgrade in regular intervals to keep up with innovations. possibly cheaper in the long run too

100 years old at the time of the Dominion War, but hardly the same ship. Upgrades, refits, retro-fits, and new production lines (I’m sure) kept the ship relevant. As in real life, Nimitz class aircraft carriers are a 50yo design but the USS Nimitz herself isn’t the same ship as it was in the 70s and the USS George H.W. Bush is closer in tech and design to the new Ford classes, than a 70s Nimitz class.

I thought the Defiant was the only ship who's warp nacelles couldn't see each other. Now we got these two awesome ships. I wonder what other ships don't have that design requirements. I'd just limit it to Alpha Quadrant ships since Voyager wasn't too accurate with this level of lore. That might be a nice topic to explore.

Are you sure about that? Im asking because if the upper section of wings is part of the warp drive, then in cruise configuration they do see each other. The problem is when we look at one nacelle ship like a Kelvin class....
