@@therovingrobin5938 Not really. Romulus is gone, and that's in the prime timeline and Prime Spock went over and died in that timeline, so you can't just ignore it. It has implications on the lore. It makes me happy that you have to deal with that. You know if you don't like something, it doesn't mean that it's bad right? That 2009 movie sparked my interest in Star Trek when I was a teenager, and without it, Me and many others wouldn't be the trekkies we are today. The movie had a great cast who for the most part really felt like newer versions of the characters, Bones in particular was phenomenal, and it was a really cool and entertaining story with a solid beginning, middle and end, and kept action alongside that story throughout all three acts. It was genuinely, and objectively, good film. It also kept true to most trek lore, while being able to change certain things by existing in an alternate timeline, which has since been confirmed on DISCO to be an alternate timeline with Lt. Yor. It was a refreshing update to Star Trek, and without it, the trek shows we have now might have never come to fruition, or may have taken even longer. Thanks to 2009 people started to hunger for more trek. Same thing with all the DISCO haters. It doesn't have to be for you, but you people are so whiny lmao

@@christianmino3753 I agree 100% with everything you said, the 2009 movie was my introduction to Star Trek although I vaguely remember Enterprise coming on late at night. I eventually binge watched the 4 seasons a few years ago and loved it as well. I know discovery wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I actually liked it, especially the new Klingons
@christianmino37536 ай бұрын
@@jaklinhyde I liked DISCO, I wasn't huge on the Klingons, but it's easily explainable and doesn't ruin any other lore. The Cast of discovery was great and in particular I REALLY liked Cleveland Book and Saru. We also had characters like "Dadmiral Vance" and Stammits and Hue, and at the end that twist with Daniels, OH MAN! I thought It was a lovely introduction back into Star Trek, and people like this guy who go around just spewing out nonsense because they don't like something, really need to grow up. It looks so childish, lmao.

I always liked Star Trek Rihannsu book series! Romulans are very interesting ones to explore!

yeah, in those books remans are just mutated romulans 🤔 and i think that's actually cannon, they weren't just some random enslaved civilization like this guy in the video says

Sure-- More Romulans, please! My favorite alien species in Trek! ...Although I tend to think of them and their history more as written in the Rihannsu novels by Diane Duane. Any chance on hearing about the "alternate universe" versions of the Romulans?

i do like the stuff that FASA turned out back in the day. it squared a lot of circles and even tossed in the preservers (but that would not work with current onscreen statement of exodus)

Our group is gaming through a set of storied where the Vulcan science directorate is doing archeology looking for planets or other waypoints that may have been temporary settlements as the Romulan's looked for a new homeworld. (Romulan archeologist are also looking at these sites and trying to find evidence to support the State narrative that they were a bunch of galactic badasses not refugees and sore losers. So these two groups may meet up for a fun story.) The abandoned colonies contain traps to kill any Vulcan's that may have been in peruse of them during the exodus- there were none , but that was the way the protoromulans thought. One such trap is a plague designed to kill vulcanians. Some of the Reman troops accompanying the archeological expedition may decide that it woudl work on Romulans and it would be a gret way to gain their freedom.

Catastrophes happen in two ways: political sabotage, or a criminal act. Meaning: such an advanced species shouldn't have collapsed. In "Star Trek 6" 50 years were calculated remaining for the Klingon Empire. Maybe the Romulans evacuated only some "politically correct" part of their population, and left the rest dying.

00:27 I know this is just a star map from one of those random places, but I can’t help but facepalm at some of the inaccuracies 🤦🏼 Denobula definitely is within the Sol / Vulcan neighbourhood - it can’t possibly be near the Romulan neutral zone. Betazed *should* be near the neutral zone, but it seems to end up ignored so often! In canon we don’t learn about many other worlds within the Romulan Star Empire, but from apocrypha the TNG game “A Final Unity” introduced us to Garid, a Romulan vassal from the further side of their space, which usually is included on canon maps of the RST, though apparently not this one.

We apologize for the inaccuracies. Thank you for pointing them out, we will make sure we are as accurate as possible in the future!

@@Starbase1 Easy man, lol! As I was trying to point out - they’re *not your* inaccuracies. I blame the people who made the star maps - of which of course, there are many across the Star Trek fandom. Unfortunately that one seems particularly inaccurate - but if you didn’t know that before using it in the video, I really don’t blame you! 🤷🏼
