Great video. I have always been curious about the Vulcans. There is so much about them. Something that I have always been curious about is their nervous system and brain. It's because of their neural physiology that they are able to maintain their level of discipline and focus. I often wonder if Spock was fully human and grew up on Vulcan some how, will he be able to keep up with the education system?

When you credited the Enterprise with forming an alliance between United Earth and Andoria, you showed the crew of NCC-1701D, but it was the crew of the NX-01 that made that alliance.

Star Trek writers were incredibly clarevoyant. These events are happening in real-time, they're just taking different forms: Sanctuary districts: homeless tent settlements outside larger cities. City governments aren't going to sacrifice valuable land to imprison people. They'd rather kick them out/imprison them than give them homes. Eugenics Wars: numerous governments attacking autistic, disabled, and lgbt people. America has always engaged in eugenics, and uses its power to endorse violent psychological torture to "fix" autistic people, give the bare minimum to help the disabled, and outlaw Healthcare for trans people. Bell Riots: violent police actions against those protesting governmental and corporate actions. Police are only going to get more violent as wars/genocides expand, climate refugees flee to safer nations, resources become scarce, etc. They absolutely will start mass murdering protesters in the near future.

How many Romulan soldiers would it take to occupy Earth at it's current tech level and 8 billion population? We may not have Romulan tech but we are not stupid and learn quickly. We currently have weapons that can kill Romulans, including nukes. We are also very skilled in guerrilla warfare. Now imagine the Romulans trying to subdue and occupy two or three dozen Earths. How much would it cost them in troops, material and resources? Empires never pay off and in the end the colonial power always ends up putting more in than they are getting out. And this is on top of fighting other powers presumably after the same planets. There simply isn't enough Romulans to hold down such an empire. Also it took humans 100's of thousands of years to reach our current population size. So how did the Romulans manage such a large population in such a short time? Do they breed like flies? The Vulcans don't and the Romulans are off shoots from them. Are they effected by the pon'far? Do they have the Vulcan telepathic abilities? If not why not?

There is something on my mind about the birth of the federation. What was the population of the core member worlds? I believe this played a role. Humans killed off a lot of themselves in ww3; vulcans and andorians are known to have an average of 1 kid, and i cannot see the tellerites having much more than either of them, being underground dwellers. Great video

Good point but Tellarites are porcine and pigs DO have large numbers of babies at once. Sometimes as many as 8 or 9. I think it would be interesting to see their family life. Andorians have marriages of four people though, so you'd think they would have at least four or five children to each group to gain population. IDK.

I believe that the Commodore rank was phased out deering the 2270 and their duties were either split between Fleet Captain's and rear admirals or were just completely given over to the rear admirals.
@SubFT
@SubFT 3 күн бұрын
Obviously the narrator doesn't fully understand naval officer ranks, upon which Starfleet based its rank system, considering his misidentifying Commode as the lowest flag rank. Commodore is not so much a rank as a salutation given to Captains in charge of fleets. Jonathan Archer, in the Romulan War novels, was referred to as Commodore when he was leading a fleet, much to his discomfort, but when he had yet to be promoted to Rear Admiral, Lower Half. Rear Admiral, Lower Half was the lowest flag rank, which is a one pip admiral, not Commodore. Following that was Rear Admiral, Upper Half, which was a two pip admiral. He got the rest right though.

In novels about post DS9 Cardassia, Garak actually becomes the leader of the new Cardassian Union. A position called castellan. Andrew Robinson wrote some of those. But my favorite post shows novels was about Rugal, the kid from the episode "Cardassians" and his life during the Dominion war. He even runs into Jake and Tora Ziyal in one chapter. No spoilers but it's a great book and I highly recommend it. Although right now I can't remember the title of it. Look for it because there's a lot of stuff about Cardassian culture in it. I know it was good because I read it quickly. I don't reread books often but I may reread this one someday. The imagery made me imagine really vivid pictures of Cardassia Prime and a DMZ world he lived on for a time. Especially the places that were destroyed by the Dominion at the end of the show. Also the Bashir/section 31 trilogy had lots about the friendship of Garak and the good doctor which was really nice. Another novel tells how our favorite former spy helped his genetically engineered buddy after he took severe trauma defeating Control, aka URAEI. I'll admit I teared up about that one and maybe a little for Rugal in the other book. Literacy is power, friend!

I am so with you on that! I loved that show! It didn't need all the half naked decon chamber scenes. It was nice seeing Jolene in them, but ultimately I think those scenes hindered the show's popularity with adults with small children. Star Trek is after all FOR children of all ages and really does not require large doses of sex appeal. Am I right?

I really like your videos. I just wanted you to know that thirty years ago, before Star Trek First Contact and Enterprise, non canon sources told a slightly different story. I referred to it as the dark side of Trek. Before we built utopia, we almost killed ourselves. You gotta go through really dark times to learn how to make things better. Originally after WWIII, Earth's population was reduced TO 600,000 people, not BY 600,000. The eugenics wars which happened in the 90's originally had left us pretty messed up. Khan and the 72 had left on the Botany Bay as the nations of the western hemisphere were finally beating What we now call the "Augments". Most of Europe, Asia, India and Africa were in different kinds of disheveled conditions. The death toll was over a billion, possibly way more, then World War Three happens, lasts for years, nuclear weapons were used by groups that didn't really care about the consequences and among the less than a billion survivors were left pretty much incapable of governing themselves, conduct science, feed the populace, and many had radiation damage from fallout. The story about Colonel Greene was about him ordering the deaths of thousands of people with fallout sicknesses of all kinds and is one reason why not many humans in the Federation have genetic abnormalities later on. Cochrane's development of the warp drive was funded by corporate and government agencies with a long term goal of the human race NOT getting killed off all at once in a cataclysm of some kinds. UESPA had sent sleeoer ships to close stars like Alpha Centauri and others, but didn't have warp drive. Cochrane would settle in the Alpha Centauri system later on. That was mentioned in the TOS episode " the Companion" where he was found at an age of albout 240 years old way outside Federation space. And the Romulan war was fought mostly with primitive space vessels incapable of having video comms with each other. ( Balance Of Terror) I always assumed it was because human and Romulan ships had way different computer systems with way different operating systems and comms equipment that weren't compatible. Allying ourselves with the Vulcans, Romulans, Tellarites, Andorians, and the slighly genetically modified humans of The Alpha Centauri system was the logical thing to do when after the vulcans introduced us to the alien powers we ALL realized we're all getting attacked by the Romulans. The Romulan war lasted decades. ( Fleshed out in books like the Starfleet Tech Manual and others) Then we formed the Federation ( No COP) and started working on better starships like the Connie, Ptolemy and Dreadnought classes. And the first Starship called the Enterprise was the seventeen hundred and first ship built. The missions of Robert April is what made it the Flagship and after the Pike missions Kirk was the youngest person to make Captain. Untill that recognition was surpassed several times. Also, ships of that era had crews that weren't composite with humans and non humans serving together. Soock was one of the first hybrids not only to serve in Starfleet, but to exist! We actually reproduce like rabbits and didn't need the story about how many people died in the third world war to change so drastically. Because we were living on several planets by the time warp drive was invented. We started to spread out on DY 100, 200, 300, 400, & 500 class sleeper ships as early as the late twentieth century. ( Space Seed and other works) The story changed a great deal in Berman era Trek. It needed to, because we were fast approaching 1996 and had not been to the moon since 1976. The year I was born. Great video though. Accurate from a modern Trek POV. I just wanted to let you know it used to be darker. Lots Darker! Have yourself a great day, week, month or even year. Not trying to sound exactly like the Friends theme. 😂😅 Peace and long life.

This so-called Starbase 1 belongs, of course, to the ALTERNATE Universe, which Discovery and Strange New Worlds are part of, in other words, part of a Star Trek MULTIVERSE. In the Jeffrey Hunter/Pike, Leonard Nimoy/Spock, William Shatner/Kirk PRIME Universe, it's Starbase 1 probably looks like a larger version of Space Station K7. Actually, James Cawley, the creator of fan film Star Trek New Voyages, came up with a brilliant design for a 2260s Starbase in one of his episodes, "Come What May".

What species conquered by the Romulans? Since we never see any of them anymore than those in the Klingon Empire or the Cardassian "Union". Why are the Feds the only democracy? Apparently all the other races are just variations on dictatorships with the people having no say in governance at all. How does that work?
