Breaking his jaw open too since Godzilla had to use the atomic breath to get out of Kongs grip in GvK. Kong got laid out and Godzilla walked away from him even. The fight was at its core, over already. He gets hit by lightning and is up for a second round. The fact people gloss over is that the lightning powers where supposed to go to Frankenstein's monster. Who was originally supposed to be in the movie. This is why Kong has never shown lightning powers again, they were never really his to start with. Add on the weakness to electricity they gave Godzilla in that movie despite the previous two movies, the original and raids again not having said weakness, shows they just had to come up with something to let Kong win as he was the big name monster at the time. They talk up Kong the whole film while he essentially parties and gets blackout drunk twice, while Godzilla is bombarded and poisoned and hit with everything Japan can throw at him. The film tells you Kong is all that, while showing Godzilla is actually the power house. Its absolutely a Plot related victory. Kong is a beauty and the beast trope, Godzilla is the horrors of nuclear war. These themes really aren't all that compatible. At least AvP had the thematic grounds for the two to fight and didn't have to massively scale up and add powers to one of its fighters.

They are considering that GvK was made cause Wingard was salty that King Kong beat his ahh in 1962. Kong in GvK was canonically out of shape, Inexperienced, And recovering from being sedated and still fought Godzilla for 12 hours straight even knocking him out, Not to mention if he knocked him out with his headbutt while 88% sedated underwater in R1, Did better against MecahGodzilla than Godzilla did. In GxK he didn't even go looking for a fight and won against a blood lusted Godzilla while still holding back, Wingard confirmed it so cry all you want, And considering he didn't use his electricity and stopped punching after knocking him out supports it. He waited for Godzilla to get up yet he didn't, flipped him over and dragged him away near the portal. If Kong really wanted him dead he would be. Break his jaws, slice him up, Punch him until his brain or skull turn into mush, etc. He can permanently kill him and the only reason he doesn't is cause Toho protects him. lol

Imo, both Godzilla and kong were not at their best in the desert fight. Kong was not out for blood and Godzilla had just gotten a hold of his new form and was egoistic. I think that both are about equal in gxk.

Yet Japanese sources including the Japanese brochure doesn’t say any of that. And then Tanaka confirms in the 1984 book “Definitive Edition Godzilla Introduction” that it was a draw. So the English Brochure is clearly wrong and outdated. Plus Toho’s source material is inconsistent at times.

He needs the axe to order to do damage. And in the GxK novel, they said Kong would die if he fights Godzilla directly.

So we just going to ignore the fact in Godzilla vs. Kong, Godzilla got knocked the fuck out by Kong. Mechagodzilla can't destroy the world and yet he was capable of killing Godzilla. And you'll probably say that they can reproduce and destroy the world and if that's the case then Kong and his army can cause the Ice age and rumbling simultaneously. Not to mention the novel already stated that if Godzilla didn't dodge the first swing of the axe at the start of R2 he would have gotten decapitated, and he knocked him out in R2 and decided to grab a crane instead of finishing the job. Kong has shown that he can take on Godzilla head on and win and if Godzilla were to fight Kong in his home turf in hollow Earth he would neg diff the lizard with his traps alone.

To kill Ghidorah it took 3 nuclear pulses from burning Godzilla, even one of those would be more than enough to kill Abbadon, Camazotz and Kong at the same time. And wdym MG can't destroy the wold ? If Mecha Godzilla managed to kill Godzilla the only thing left that would be able to stop it would be Shimo who is another titan capabile of ending the world as we know it. If that’s what you believe that’s fine but as someone who prefers Godzilla I respectfully disagree. Kong can definitely can beat Godzilla in the Monsterverse. Especially when he’s already done so twice. And in a proper death match, sure Godzilla has a lot going for him in combatant matters, but just because it’s extremely hard for Kong to fight Godzilla doesn’t mean Kong can’t him. If Godzilla let it happen for whatever reason plenty of titan sun the Monsterverse, even the weaker ones can kill Godzilla, regardless of his conbatant factors. I agree that overall Godzilla beats Kong, but if 10 random death matches were simulated I’d bet Kong would win at least 3 times. Godzilla and Kong are both proud fighters, each with different strengths, weaknesses, strategies, and contacts with their environments, leading to the potential of many different scenarios where at least few of them Kong gets lucky and stand victorious. How? Well he was better arm strength, making him capable of snapping his neck or ripping off his gills, an axe which can draw his intestines and force Godzilla’s head and spine to divorce, heck I’d argue Kong’s glove could rip off Godzilla’s plates.

Which was the ONLY source that claimed Kong won. Yet, Japanese language ones never mentioned it and then in 1984, Tomoyuki Tanaka (then Toho chairman and creator of Godzilla) wrote a book called “Definitive Edition Godzilla Introduction”, stated on Kong’s page that the fight was a draw at the end. And keep in mind, the book was republished until 1996. And this is a Toho official book. And so far, no current official sources state Kong won. Only wikis that reference the English Brochure. At least Wikizilla is smart and doesn’t make that conclusion. They even reference Tanaka’s book and don’t deem the English Brochure as definitive evidence. And considering the films ending had no real conclusion on who won, as the human characters couldn’t deduce who won and where Godzilla was, it was deemed inclusive. Kong survives and leaves home. Yet, Godzilla was missing and was not declared dead and as we see in Mothra vs Godzilla, he was clearly not. And Toho had no intention of Kong killing him. You are referring to the sequel film that the writer wanted to do. But Godzilla wasn’t stated dead in the script and Toho had several drafts before hand with Godzilla being clearly alive. But regardless, Toho had plans for a sequel since before KKvG. So they never planned on killing him. He was already a hit then.

Godzilla got beat by "The Rival," and although Kong may not be as big, he's definitely a more seasoned and intelligent fighter. Will Godzilla win MOST of their match-ups, yes, but he csn still win a few fights. Also, Kong wasn't trying to hurt or kill Godzilla with the Beast Glove, he just needed him out to bring him to Hollow Earth. As a Kong fan yeah I agree many people will say he’s weak and he’s getting older which is true but y’all saw how he was moving against the other apes tho he may look old but he’s still fast I see it as if Godzilla didn’t have his atomic breath because we can all agree he relies on his power more than his actual strength while king might not have powers I guess you can count the gauntlet as a crutch for kong but it’s only fair cause Godzilla only uses his strength when he’s overwhelmed.

Kong can kill Godzilla by hitting him in the face with a clean charged axe with no overcharge. And he can win by ripping his gills out. Breaking his jaw open too since Godzilla had to use the atomic breath to get out of Kongs grip in GvK. Kong can kill Godzilla by ripping his gills out since the mutos were able to slice his gills which did massive damage to him. So he could hit them with the axe. Remember when Kong knocked Godzilla out in Egypt he DRAGGED him. Instead of going for the gills. They’re relative.

1- He did hit Godzilla over the head with the axe, it only knocked him out, I guess it was strong enough to cut trough his skin but not bone. 2- Godzilla's jaws are strong enough to drag and throw Kong, and I'm pretty sure Kong was trying to keep Godzilla's jaws SHUT to keep him from using his atomic breath, not trying to pry them open, he can't do that, Kong is not as physcally strong as Godzilla is. And 3- Yea his gills are his weak point but they are only weaker compared to the rest of his body, when Mecha Godzilla burned him his gills were within the damaged area, they were about as hurt as the rest of his body, doubt Kong could take advantage of that either. Plus, it takes a world ending threat to even hurt Godzilla, Kong is not that.
