Why Korone Became the Strongest Member in Hololive ft. Subaru Mio Okayu [SMOK]

Subaru, Mio, Okayu, and Korone rank themselves for who would win in a fight. Everyone has the same answer for number 1 (except for Okayu).
Just to recap, Korone has mentioned that she goes to the gym on a regular basis, does boxing as a hobby, is confident she could beat any Hololive member in a fistfight, and describes herself as closer to a Doberman than a Spaniel.

@@Elmithian Even if she practices kickboxing, that doesn't necessarily mean she knows how to use it effectively in an actual combat scenario. No matter how much you practice the standard moves and even spar with them, it's hard to directly translate that into actual fights.

There's a stream Korone had a long time ago where she mentions not being able (or wishing she was able to) help someone that was having an emergency on the train. Then she mentions building her strength to be able to protect everyone. I do powerlifting alot and one of the things we talk about is not just to have big numbas but, like, if a person is trapped underneath a car, that you can deadlift it off of them. Day by day, Korone becomes untouchable as peak waifu.

I guess engaging in martial arts training from a young age is more of a Chinese stereotype than Japanese, but I remember being super happy when my Mom enrolled me in Tae Kwon Do lessons as a youngin' because it taught me about way more things than simply fighting and gave me a sense of discipline that helped me get through some pretty tough times as a young adult.

Why is "Korone" and "Okayu" written in hiragana, but "Subaru" and "Mio" is written in katakana? Is it for stylistic purposes, did they just want to do it that way, or are there some Japanese grammatical rules which makes this the proper way to write their names?

I think it's because the impression that hiragana and katakana give is a little bit different. Hiragana gives warm and gentle impression. ぺこら　わため　あやめ Katakana gives sharp, stylish and cool impression. フブキ　シオン　クロヱ When deciding on their names, whether their names are written in hiragana or katakana is also considered an important factor,I guess.

@@wootoo3435 Thank you for the reply! I only recently memorized Hiragana and Katakana, and I thought I knew when one was used over the other. But then I saw a panel from One Piece where an entire sentence was written in Katakana, which artistically made sense. In my head I thought it would be like writing in cursive in English. Used to think Katakana wouldn't be needed, but it's used in these random places, and it's really interesting. Again, thanks for replying

@@scruddo1644 No problem! Hiragana looks softer due to use of curved lines, while katakana which uses straight lines looks sharper. Btw most of the SE in manga (such asゴゴゴゴorドドドドfrom jojo) are written in katakana but sometimes hiragana is also used in some cases. (likeざわざわ… from kaiji) It might be fun to pay attention to how hiragana and katakana are used in manga!😊

But who would each character be? Korone always trains, so she’d arguably be Ryu. She does boxing, so maybe Balrog instead? M. Bison as Haachama. I think it fits. Could also be Menat. Kanata has that gorilla grip strength, so Zangief or E. Honda. I don’t know why, but I’m thinking Mio and Sagat. Also thinking Subaru and Sakura. R. Mika as Pekora? I only chose this ‘cuz of the hair that could be rabbit ears. Ina and Dhalsim? Might be a bit of a stretch. Fubuki and Guile, tho. That seems cool. And as much as I don’t want to do this, with how she’s being portrayed as of late as an agent of chaos, Watame as Dan Hibiki.
