Until it is connected to Marina through National Theatre as planned we'll never see any big increase. Nobody stops at Oyigbo for anything. And Oyigbo is presently the last station. Secondly, pls change the coaches seat to look like the blue line. The inside seat is not appealing.

I’m not surprised it’s empty. They are supposed to build a new track from Toll gate area and it’s supposed to be very close to the Lagos Abeokuta expressway. Rather, they’re sharing tracks with the FG.

The schedule of the time is very ridiculous perhaps it is temporary
@ObaJudah10 күн бұрын
The scheduling of the trains times is rudiculous. Nobody will board the trains that runs only twice a day, imagine missing a train you will have to wait till evening before another train comes by. Whom ever imagined the scheduling must be a saboteur. The trains should at least run every 30 mins or every hour at worst.
@Freddvibzey10 күн бұрын
Wait till the new train sets arrive, similar to the Blue line metro trains. This one is a temporary arrangement cos it is a converted intercity train. Another reason partly affecting turnout is the pricing, although throughout the 3 months duration it was free ride, turnout was still not so high

@jay5120010 күн бұрын
Two issues with the red line compared with the blue line: 1. The train coaches are not like the blue line; please order train coaches similar to the blue line from China 2. The scheduling is ridiculous, which has turned the train into a white elephant project.
@AdedamolaElijah10 күн бұрын
i think, if the train is extended to the island with reduce fare, i believe that will bring more people
@LEFTIE618 күн бұрын
Can't see why the style of coach would determine whether you travel by the train or not.
@jay512008 күн бұрын
@ The current redline train is not a metro rail train but intercity train. The original order owner rejected it, then LASG went to buy it. The new redline coaches coming from China is same as the blue train coaches
@streamingtv838110 күн бұрын
The main issue is the existence of NRC mass transit train that run on the narrow gauge lane. Passenger on the route are not new to train service, so the excitement that greeted the Blue line was absent. Secondly, the red line not extending service beyond Agbado, to places like ijoko and Kajola is a minus. The story will change the moment it gets to at least Ijoko, and the fare is not ridiculously high.

Very informative. I am told Kajola to Apapa on the NRC narrow gauge old trains is N750.00. It is obvious Lagos State doesn't have train stock for the Red Line. I read that new trains (deisel and electric) built for Lagos from China will soon be shipped.
@akinkunmialli23049 күн бұрын
Until the phase two is completed, there won't be much patronage. Most people live on the mainland and work on the island. That's the movement of traffic in Lagos
@adamsow504910 күн бұрын
Emptiness is not an excuse, they just opened in due time all will be okay. I have no doubt about the progress of this project.
@ObaJudah10 күн бұрын
It has nothing to do with the price of tickets, the main issue is reliability, people want to get to the station with the knowledge they can board a train any time of the day within 15 mins of arrival at the station at worst. Lagosians are more sophisticated than they are given credit for. Once people attempt to take the train once or twice and they find they have to wait for endless hours, this mode of travel very quickly is taken out of thier mind's. Nobody wants to sit at a bare station staring at a blank wall for hours on end. Need for new thinking on this line!.. or new management

This could as well be a factor sir. Thanks for watching ❤

I assume the red line is still work in progress in terms of scheduling and actual operations. It may be that they're yet to receive all the required rolling stocks to enable them increase the schedule. So for now just stick with the schedule and don't go there to waste your time and then begin to complain about empty train. They have a website to obtain all that information before heading out. By the way, I'm watching this from the United States and as Americans would say, know before you go. In other words, don't just jump out and go, do your little bit of research before leaving home. That's my advice for you and others. Just so you know, these trains, the plaforms, stations, ticketing, etc, are world class much better than those here in New York City where I live. Thanks anyway.

Billions of naira was invested in this project. What Ambode wanted to do was extend the BRT routes and bring another minibus. But they felt it was better to invest in trains when the main transportation is still rickety danfos. Even the blue line is highly underutilized. Let the government run it for free for 3 months before selling tickets. Let the people get used to it.
@FemiMartins-xl4se10 күн бұрын
Which BLUE LINE is highly under utilized? OGA make una just shut up with your dead lies. As it stands right now, six more trains for the blue line will be added to the Blue Rail way line because of high demand. People dey talk better thing, this one dey call Ambode. What special thing did Ambode do in Lagos transportation asides that white elephant project in at Oshodi.
@Freddvibzey10 күн бұрын
Blue line is over utilized sef😅 Ambode was getting it wrong cos how can you keep relying on an already congested road transport system with too many vehicles? Hope you know that Lagos is the only mega city in the world that was without a metro rail until 2023?
