You as an American with a family is what draw me to your channel, you showing viewers that there are real families down there and it changes a lot about how people look at Dominican Republic, even though you don’t care what people think

Jay I am a RN in Birmingham Alabama I also have a military pension. The reason why I mentioned those things is because I want to know what’s my marketability in the DR ? Secondly I do not speak Spanish. However, I would love to move to the DR but I’m afraid of the language barrier. I would like to continue to work as a RN. I’ve been to the DR several times and I would love to move there full time

Your marketability here I'm not sure. I don't know much about DR job market because I don't participate in it except for probably the real estate niche. Other than that I have no idea. As far as you not knowing the language there 10s of thousands of foreigners that live here that don't speak the language. You can move here and not know the language but I still recommend you try to pick up on the basics. In areas like Puerto Plata and Punta Cana you really don't have to know a whole lot of Spanish to live in those areas because you'll find people that speak English. But I def would not let the language stop me from moving.

@sherifuntastic3 ай бұрын
@@JayAbroad no need to be nervous, at least not on account of me. The beauty about it all is that it's all trial and error if one thing doesn't work, one simply have to pivot. When ones business travels with them wherever they go, there's no demand on the host. The secret is to bring value and emerse in the way of life to bring best results. Remember, this is not a sprint, it's a marathon and once that's clear, everything will fall into place.
@JayAbroad3 ай бұрын
I have to agree that this should be the approach. A lot of times people get caught up in content without realizing it's more to it than that. They come here to extract rather than bring value and that's fine if you're coming for vacation but to live here you have to bring value or chances are it's not going work out for you no different than the US if you don't bring value you get the leftovers. Matter fact I got a video about high expectations coming soon speaking directly to this.

Here is Thomas's response - "Yes I can choose… every month the company puts together schedules based off of where they fly.. when we bid for our schedules we look at the schedules they put together and we preference which schedules we want based off of what we want to do for that month.. some people bid their schedules based off of where they want to fly, some people bid their schedules based off of having certain days off, some people bid their schedules by what time of the day the trips start… there are a lot of different factors that go into each pilots bidding of their schedules and it’s all personal preference"
