Lions are of course stronger and much better fighter than tigers. Well, about the mane as protection it is not scientifically proven. It fact, it works against the lion in combat it bring greater heat stress. Plus, in some movie we can see a tiger momentary retaining a lion by its mane. The real armor of a male lion is his huge muscle neck and very dense muscle mass. So this is highly debatable. MAKING SIMPLE TO HUNDERSTAND. The lion simply has a greater muscular structure and it is concentrated more at the front where the true power is. The tiger has a lesser muscle structure but more evenly spread giving him a greater agility. Of course there are more details to explain the superiority of the lion's anatomy.

A century or two ago biologists postulated that lions grew a thick mane of hair around their necks to protect that vulnerable area from attacks by other lions. Over time, however, field biologists observed lion behavior (from a safe distance) and noted that when lions fought one another, they rarely went for the mane region. Instead they regularly attacked from the rear, targeting the back and the hindquarters. So, if the mane isn’t designed for protection, what is its purpose? Why, the only positive is that it takes some sturdy genes and a very healthy constitution for a male to live long enough to grow a substantial mane. Over the centuries, lionesses have twigged onto the fact that a huge, lush, thick, impressive head of hair equals a virile baby daddy who has the stones to not only sire her cubs but also to aggressively protect them along with the rest of the pride. Even more attractive? A dark, flowing mane, according to studies.

The Mane is indeed Battle Armor and all animals LIONS battle are not another LION. LIONS are however the SMARTEST most INTELLIGENT CAT. If you are firing at a tank wouldn't you look for the part not heavily protected? Besides the smart Lions knew they were being observed from a safe distance and that's why they did this intelligently. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnu1nYF6itlgaKcfeature=shared - JUDAH'S LION KING!

LIONS are born fighters and the LION MANE is armor no matter what if something prevents penetration it can be considered armor. That being said LIONS obviously don't ONLY FIGHT LIONS. If one is at war do they hit the most Armored area? Lions being highly intelligent would know the advantage of a Mane and not foolishly use up their energy. LIONS fight LIONS with understanding they are the same: LIONS. The average animal is unaware of the danger he is in. A Lion has high battle IQ and are very tactical and would attack wisely despite any animal it fights, hunts.

The advantages a lion has over a tiger is strength, endurance and fighting techniques. It has nothing to do with them being social cats. Lions are the most muscular mammal on the planet, with 59% of their bodies being muscle, compared to 56% for tigers. Lions have denser heavier bones than tigers, allowing for more muscle mass. Lions have a much more robust spine compared to the tigers more flexible ones. This allows the lion to use more force when wrestling large prey to the ground. Lions also have larger internal organs than the tiger, especially the heart, which is the reason they can outlast any tiger in a fight. These are the reasons why the lion is the king of beasts and not the tiger.

Most of the things you say are fallacious. A zoologist tells you. First of all, the greatest strength and capacity in the fight. Ask yourself why it almost always takes a herd of lions to kill a Buffalo, but only one tiger to kill a Gaur, which is a larger bovid than its African counterpart. The tiger beats the lion in almost all items.

@@danielcalero3929 You're living in a dream world. There are plenty of videos of a single lion killing a Cape Buffalo and the Lion takes the buffalo to the ground before he kills it. There are hardly any videos of tigers killing guars and when they do, they don't have the strength to wrestle it to the ground. They bite the throat and hang on until it drops to the ground. Tigers mostly hunt small animals like deer. Lions have the largest predator to prey weight differential than any other predator. There are videos on the Internet showing single male lions killing hippos, giraffes and rhinos. Something a tiger could never do! The facts are the facts. And by the way, Lions live in prides not herds. Oh, I left one out, Lions are the only animal that preys on elephants. A single lion can take down a juvenile elephant, which is bigger than anything a tiger hunts, but it takes a pride to take down a full grown elephant. Once again there's video evidence of everything I've said. Tigers run from elephants.

@@tommosley2844 Child, are your tests what you see in videos?... Do you see the videos that you want, that suit you... Watch all the videos. Are those your tests against a zoologist like me? Videos?. I have years of studies and field tests. I don't need to watch KZbin videos or anything. Everything you say are exceptions. The vast majority of the time a lion cannot stand alone against a buffalo... More than once a buffalo or buffaloes have been able to defeat the lion(s). Ask yourself why in the kingdom of the tiger, except for the gaur and the elephant, there are no large animals left... Evolution: the tiger imposed itself on everyone. He has made it so that it had no competition. The lion, no. That's why hyenas and others are encouraged. I could give you item by item where the superiority of the Tiger is demonstrated, but I know that in front of you it is useless because you are a fanatic. You don't go with science.

On the other hand, you have no receipts to back up your fairy tales. I follow the facts. Refer me to one animal scientist that backs up your fantasy, that tigers destroyed all the big game in india, leaving only the guar and elephant to wander the forests of India.
