Her fans just drowned out any criticism, but the same complaints they had back then (simple and wack lyrics, limited vocal prowess) are the ones they’re having now. Streaming numbers and charts for kpop artists are not impressive because there’s an established culture of farming streams within the genre so they can give the appearance of their idol doing well so people can brag about it comment sections later. The true test of a song is does the general public listen to it everywhere? Is it still charting high a month later? How often do regular non-stans talk about her songs/mention her in comparison to other people on her level? If the majority of these answers are no, congrats you’ve put out stuff the blind stans will like and no one else does which is why you have “why did she win?” “Why is she lipsyncing?” “Why are the lyrics so bad?” questions. GP has no good music to pay attention to from her, so they start focusing on everything else

I don't think she ever cared about the music itself, and I don't think she ever will because she's received too much validation from fans and has too much money to actually be motivated to change. LLOUD is new and barely had 1M subscribers when Rockstar was being teased and released, so most people had to look search it up. Rockstar shorts & tiktoks are many but you can't compare it to a first time debut on BP. As for Jisoo's nomination, that's a question to YG. Labels are the ones that submit their artists' songs for nominations, like RCA did for Rockstar.

She does get the gigs due to her starpower but it isn't far-off that LVMH brands and non-LVMH brands, shows, etc are entertaining her/opening windows for her because of the Arnault name connected to her. To be honest, she’s flopping… I didn’t like “Rockstar,” and most people didn’t like it either. It just gets boring if you keep overdoing it by constantly talking about yourself or hearing her name all the time. Some parts of her songs didn’t make sense. “Woman” was actually good and had a meaningful message behind it, but the truth is, everyone knows what she actually sounds like when she’s singing. She’s not a vocalist, and she lip-syncs so much that it’s hard for others to believe this is the same Lalisa from Blackpink. She hasn’t done a single live performance where you can hear her real voice because they still present her like an idol in Korea, where everything has to look and sound perfect. If she’s going for a more Western style, then she should go for it fully because no one would mind that here. I really wish she would just focus on what she’s best at, like rapping and dancing. That’s her true talent. But then we get something like “Moonlit Floor,” and you can tell her voice doesn’t even match well. She even had an interview where she could have proven herself vocally but didn’t quite manage to. The best example of taking time, putting love into a song, and truly working on it is Rosé from Blackpink. And if anyone says, “Yeah, but she did a collab with Bruno, so of course it’s getting so much attention,” the answer is no! Even without him, it would still have been good work. I’ve been a Blink for years, but I still have my criticisms. Lisa is stable but needs to improve a bit more in her vocals in order to be an Allrounder. Rosè is basically an ace, she can sing, dance, rap, has great Sp, has written songs and least important, visuals in KBS. I honestly honestly don’t like Lisa anymore. I became a blink in 2018, and I used to love Lisa, she was actually my bias in the group. But now? I’m sorry guys, you can get mad at me all you like, but I just can’t stand her now. She doesn’t really seem to want to be a K-pop idol anymore. She clearly wants to appeal more to Western audiences, and focuses more on fashion and vulgarity. I won’t say that she’s the worst singer, because she’s not. Lisa has vocal skills, but not nearly enough. It’s pretty obvious she puts more focus into how she looks and dancing then into singing. I already looked at her funny when she did the crazy horse performance, but I didn’t hate her for it. But nowadays, it’s just becoming harder and harder for me to like her a hold of any interest in her. She just doesn’t feel like a K-pop idol anymore, and she also doesn’t really seem to be that interested in her group overall. My bias is now Rosé, and Jennie is my bus wrecker. Out of all the four members, she and Jenny have actually given us good music (and can actually sing well LIVE). In my opinion, Lisa should really just stick to being a dancer only. She’s excellent at dancing, amazing. One of the best dancers in my opinion.

The way I had to watch Lisa's performance again just to be sure I wasn't crazy lol. I have no idea how many times I've seen people that are not lipsyncing the whole song stop singing during some parts like they aren't trying to pretend they're singing when they're not. Also, you can hear her breathing when she's singing. I'm not talking about "tired breathing because I'm walking and dancing", just the normal breathing you have when you're singing very close to a microphone. That's just funny. I remember when BLACKPINK first performed in America. It came with a lot of hate. I don't really remember where, maybe on Good Morning America, and people said they didn’t have great dancing. They claimed the dances were easy, and they said, “This is American camera work showing how little they do and how much the camera does the work.” I feel like this is now the same thing with her performance. It wasn’t bad; I just feel like it’s not something we are used to. The cameras they use in Korean performances and Western performances are very different. Do I think she lip-synced? No, I don’t. I just feel like the backing track was loud. I am not a Lisa nor a BLACKPINK fan, but I didn’t hate it :) It takes time to adapt to something new. She will grow eventually. I mean, the music even sounds different, right?

The American cameras are just much worse in comparison and quality. They have about 2 cameras for the most high profile performances meanwhile some random K-Pop stage performance has as many cameras as a Premier League game

There are a lot of great performances on American shows that use a small camera setup. As a performer you should be choreographing to fill the stage and show off to the audience, not based on how many camera angles you can use to make a performance seem better than it is. True performers will always shine no matter what the set up. Rn Lisa is not there

uhm did i miss something cuz her songs are literally everywhere?! vmas are not the only thing determining how well she is doing lol, it was just the start so ofc people will have opinions. we will get more perfomances, music, awards etc in the future to judge if she is flopping or not, but for now i believe she is doing really great.

She is DEFINITELY NOT flopping. She is testing different music styles and LLOUD is a new (and most likely self funded) label.. they do not have YG marketing budget (yet). She is grinding like any new independent artist.

I think she started so good, breaking many records and it is just first steps but u can see her first steps is already go into right direction, but negative comments and toxic thoughts towards her just makes she find room for improvement.
