It wouldn't had made a difference. They would have had better success with 50 over Jay Z but it wouldn't had given them commercial success. Just look at what 50 tried to do for Mobb Deep. He gave them an awesome single with Outta Control Remix. They still couldn't gain that notoriety. It would have been the same with MOP

M.O.P. were never meant for the mainstream. I knew this even before they were trying to sign to Rocafella and G Unit. Way before. Ante Up was their true commercial hit. And that's why I still respect them to this day. Their albums have aged well. True hardcore hip hop. The funny thing is that I was just trying to convert their albums to digital and then I saw this video. That was odd to me

M.O.P. are legends in the rap game. I love their song, Ante’Up , that was a classic. Lil’ Fame and Billy Danze are the greatest duo from New York City. They also were signed to G-Unit Records at the same time as Mobb Depp. They also sued John Cena for sampling their song Ante’Up without their permission. They were a duo who did things their own way on a musical level. They were known for their aggressive lyrics and didn’t compromise for the record labels. They just were street dudes who wanted to make music for everybody. They also signed with Roc-A-Fella Records and things didn’t work out in their favor.

mop signing to select and relativity is what hurt them early.. had they been on loud records in the 90s they would have had 2 gold albums as loud better promoted that sound and image in the 90s ask Mobb and Wu... when they got to loud it was in time for ante up but they was still not getting the push out of the try state... those 1st 2 albums had only 2 singles.. and the 2nd album didn't even get airplay on hot 97.. I blame those early labels... remember 4 alarm Blaze ft jayz and hot 97 still didn't play it in rotation.. thats all on relativity records.. ask fat Joe..
