Why Malaysia?

Kyabje Lati Rinpoche was such a convincing and powerful lama. It was very hard to say not to him. He was my guru and he use to push me to do things that I wouldn't want to nor even dream of....I was in my idyllic peaceful Monastic life in Gaden till one day he summoned me....
Last night I was on the beach in Kota Bahru (Kelantan State, East Malaysia) and decided to share about how I made my way to Malaysia back in 1992 and why. Who sent me here, why I came and my feelings. We arrived at the Beach around 5:30pm and the storm clouds had gathered already...so after talking for a short while, it started to pour (fun), then we went into a cover, but finally in the car. The cover was open on four sides so the rain was blowing in with the wind...hehehe. Couldn't finish my story under the cover....the car became the Dharma stage...hehe.
Anyway it was really DHARMA ON THE MOVE last night with the storm and all...hahaha....but I did finish my story with the fury of the windy, beach storm going on outside the car....today we will be visiting some really interesting huge temples. I am looking forward to that..I saw the Temple on the internet and decided to visit and here I am...in the hotel, one hour away getting ready to go...it's tsok day so will offer tsok in the hotel then visit the temples..

It actually bothers me that you have not been happy there. The reason is because I have learned that for myself and many others - though not for all, such efforts to be unselfish sometimes backfire and the person ends up worse instead of helping. I am glad that it pleases you to obey your guru and that so many people appreciate your efforts and benefit from them. My own view of life is that you are supposed to get to be happy to, and to help lots of people. Otherwise, in my narrow world view, the others just make you the victim of their selfish needs which is as screwed up as any one of us being way too selfish. That's just me.

interesting ..I was just wondering why and how you decided to be in MALAYSIA...thank you for sharing..as I too am here in Hawaii..and not happy about living here...yet I know that there is a purpose and reason for why I am still here...doing my own service and often say..I will wait till spirit opens the way..for me to leave ...but then who knows..as I also have stopped "wishing " for what is not in my presence...and just live to do the best I can where I am with what is before me...so I can certainly relate to what you are saying. .

actually I am clear why...I am still here in HAWAII as sometimes we have the greatest challenges in our lives and at the same time brings us the greatest blessings from the heavens...lol...would like to now have a nice retreat and peace in life...LOL..often think what it would be like to live in MALAYSIA...which is actually my shengchi direction...meaning PEACEFUL LIFE and auspicous for me...but then I am not knowing how to practice buddhism since I have not much knowledge of its teachings ..just learning now ....smile...
