You're going to get all kinds of LOVE from Moomoos worldwide, my-man. This is a group that has STEADFAST fans!!! I think you can see why. Mamamoo is not only endlessly talented,.. they are endlessly entertaining. They are so popular that they have concert tours in North America and fan meetings in LA and east coast too. For a group that does not usually speak english language, that is quite a feat. WE stan MAMAMOO!!! If you didn't get it the first times you saw them, this video really nicely spells out that these ladies are "WOMEN". If there is any "little girly" stuff portrayed, it's probably for laughs. They are not afraid to be full grown women. And we love them for that.

Confronting the haters and not letting malicious comments get to them is part of what they were getting at with songs like Hip but I think it's important to note that they do it in a way that attempts to make a positive change in society. Hip is partly a diss track that mocks their haters as people who spit in their own faces but rather than simply returning hate for hate Hip is also a message song that re-defines Hip to mean doing your own thing rather than the usual slang meaning of cool or trendy. In the MV they portray 12 women (3 each) who make unusual career, lifestyle or fashion choices, the point being that those who are outside whatever is considered to be the norm deserve respect just like anyone else and encouraging acceptance of others for their uniqueness and individuality. As you may know, S Korea has one of the highest suicide rates in the world and internet bullying is a contributing factor, esp in some celebrity suicides. Idol suicides like Sulli of f(X) and Jonghyun of Shinee deeply affected fans and everyone in the industry. Prior to Hip RBW had advised the girls not to respond to slander and hate comments but it had become an issue that was both very personal and socially important. Once the company took the gloves off Mamamoo addressed the issue in some of their most powerful and socially impactful songs as a group and as solo artists as well as in official statements, comments during live internet fanmeets, and messages included during performances at award shows. Tho this video essay couldn't possibly include everything, her description of Solar being at the start of her solo journey isn't quite accurate imo, tho it's true that Solar was the last member to make her official solo debut with Spit It Out in 2020. But, as is typical with Mamamoo, Solar has carved out her own path as a soloist. She was the first member to release solo songs with MVs with a series of covers released between 2015-18 that were collected on her album Solar Gamsung in 2018, the first solo album by a MMM member, and immediately followed by the first solo concerts by a member, which were also the first solo concerts by a member of any 3rd generation idol group of either gender. She has also made a number of spectacular live appearances as a soloist ever since MMM's rookie days, including being the only member to appear on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs 2 as a soloist in 2019. So dating Solar's solo career from Spit It Out in 2020 is deceptive to say the least, tho it's "officially" correct. Enjoy your travels with Mamamoo!

Many people can not choose a favourite member (bias) from Mamamoo. If pushed, I go for WheeIn. However I prefer Hwasa's solo material, closely followed by Moonbyul. The thing is, they are all so good for all the reasons explained in this excellent video about them being underrated. 😎

AND NOW... MAMAMOO joins the ranks of Destiny's Child, The Spice Girls, and TLC as the ONLY girl groups to sell over 70,000 tickets on their FIRST tour in the USA. This makes MAMAMOO the ONLY girl group to achieve this milestone AFTER a 21-year gap. AND the ONLY Non-English speaking girl group to accomplish such a feat. Many groups, including BP, emulate Mamamoo. Moomoo's and the group don't have any issues with this... flattering

I do not know if you reacted to BTS, they came from an underdog entertainment company and got a lot of hate, and like MAMAMOO, they sing about the shit they went through and the political crap in today's society. Now I understand why I love these girls so much.
