@@ideozublake8036Not gonna say you're wrong but maybe you are looking into the wrong direction. If we want to play like last year, then yes, Mount for Eriksen probably isn't a good idea. But if we want to change our play, be more aggressive, defend further away from our own goal with a high line, then things change. That is why I am not the greatest fan of adding Amrabat. If ETH has a system in mind of how he wants to play, he shouldn't just throw it away just because the first few games haven't really clicked yet. That isn't necessarily just down to the players.

For me, I think Man utd were stupid to get Mount. They already have Fernandes in that position. The kind of midfielder that need and should have be prioritizing the right partner for Casemiro and Amrabat is the perfect kind for player for that. He can play has his backup or partner but it kind confuses me why that didn't focus of getting a DM with that the midfield problems that they have had so far this season. This transfer really defines the season we have in my opinion. The team that had all 4 midfielder in with Bruno out wide is my favourite although I hate when Ten Hag puts Bruno out wide because as KDB put it, he's a chance creation machine. You keep your best players in there best positions. I'd move Mount out wide to the right as his work rate is equally as good as bruno's and I also think he's quicker. It makes it really difficult for the top teams to play against us as we can pack the midfield and we have really aggressive midfielders in all 4 of Casemiro, Armabat, Bruno and Mount that can all defend wide areas. If we don't get Amrabat I can't really see much coming from the season as we don't really have that destroyer in the midfield apart from Casemiro (but he's struggling alone) and we don't have a good enough progressive ball playing midfielder (which is why Ten Hag was obsessed with getting De Jong).

If signed a 4 2 3 1 is the way to go witha free role for cas and amrabat simply taking up more defensive work as a double pivot. This means shaw can play to his strengths on the overlap as can dalot or AWB cam play and hold the 3 at the back. Fernandes needs to play as a 10.

ten hag's style mainly lies on running players in the central areas being able to progress the ball forward positively. he had a really quick lesson on the squad depth last season when he started with fred and eriksen (one can run but not pass, the other can pass but not run) against brentford and mctominay and eriksen (one can run but not receive passes, the other can pass but not run) against brighton. i bet he was shaking his head and wondering how that team survived not being relegated for years.

I think a defensive set up if 433 and an offensive set up of 325 is a great set up similar to Pep's last season's 3223. 325 gives a better defensive stability in attack. I think Ten hag wants his team to be 316 with a defensive set up of 4231. With Ambrabat,they can work on both set ups. Base 3 of two cbs and a pivot of Ambrabat with both fullbacks joining the attack. This season,with Mount we didnt see this. We rather saw one if the fullback making the base. With Erikson however,Case went to the base 3 and got the attack moving forward. Think thats better suited with Case lacking required athleticism to become a sole pivot but is very good in reading the games and passing. One other thing that case is so poor at is ball progression amd half turns. He looses possession a lot. If Ambrabat plays,this would instantly work. This season,i think we gonna see Bruno on the right a lot especially in big games and Mount as a pressing 10. That teams would be good with Mabrabat as an anchor.

Feels like as football develops in the next 10 to 20 years, every position on the field will need to do so much more than their 'purist' state. GKs who can pass and dribble , RB who not just defend but can bomb forward (wan-bissaka), MF becoming deep laying playmaker and hold the ball, in some cases probably basically playing as a CB. Amrabat needs to play alongside Casemiro. This 433 with Mount and Fernandes is not good enough defensively nor can they progress the ball. Fernandes can easily replace Antony on the right and Mount slot into the 10. For all you people who think Bruno can't play off the right check how successful he was in the handful of games he did play there. With how weak and frail the midfield looked against Wolves and Spurs it only makes sense to strengthen that. It also will help greatly with ball progression, something that has been even worse this season than last.

He's not the perfect player, the perfect player would do what Amrabat does and would add 20 goals/assists a season. THAT is the kind of player that is really expensive. Amrabat "only" does the dirty work, and since United already have the creativity then yes, he seems to be a perfect fit.

He should have been picked up by an Italian side, who are notorious for buying from their own league. He should have been picked by Bayern, who are always close to Italian football. But isn't the main problem of this team that they are 'toothless'? Wouldn't dedicating one more player to defense make things worse? Mount didn't have the best season but the one before that(2021/22), he had 11 goals, 10 assists, 59 key passes and 76 shots. He can be great off the ball, while being also being very good progressively and creatively. So if ETH was to make Mount work like Tuchel did, Mount could become a great 6, 8 and 10; like Jude is! (Obviously I don't mean as good, but that he could play the same role and be as dynamic.

I’d swap Amrabat and Mount depending on opposition. If it’s teams who give us possesssion then Mount can be part of the high press and help retain possession and create chances.
