This WNBA league has more drama than a Korean soap opera and a Chinese drama series combined! Women's main characteristics are Jealousy, Envy, and Petty... hence the unprofessional hoopla they are causing in their league. It's only normal for their traits and characters, right???

I think Mabrey is completely valid in wanting to leave. James Wade promised her that she would be a key piece on a contender and 1 year later she's on a team that in complete rebuild with a new coach. Chicago subpar facilities and the carousel of players consistently leaving (Kah, Candace Parker, Sylvia Fowles, EDD and more)over the years makes it clear that organization isn't exactly the most player friendly team. Add to it, new fans that have blamed for every loss anyway, I think she made the right move. Connecticut is a contender and she could be an asset if used properly.

@@anthonypuccetti8779 errrr…yes she did. She whiffed the last second free throws against the Mystics that should have won the Sky the game. Then she again missed both free throws against the Fever, right at the end, that almost cost them the game. After that, Angel went to console her. Not saying that people don’t miss free throws, but she had a spate of bad games too. She was the Sky’s main source of 3s and she wasn’t hitting any for a time. I also agree that Seattle game changed EVERYTHING. That 27 and 10 game from angel in particular and that 33 point game from Chen really scared the league, Chicago was already a threat but with the impact and potential that angel has They could make the playoffs and be a pain in the butt to get rid of. When Marina was on the bench and the team succeeded without her on multiple occasions she knew the writing was on the wall. They were going to end up trading her anyway because they weren't going to lose her for nothing and she wasn't going to be able to sign with any contending team with the amount she wanted so she made the best decision for herself and Chicago.

LMFAO bro you just dreaming. That 33 point game Carter had came against who again? The Storm in a very very close game(that if you actually paid attention to, the Storm let them win) and then turned around and got blown out by the Storm 2 days later in a 13 point loss. oh yea that game didn't scare the league either. Carter has been in the league for a long time and has played with several teams. The last team she played for benched her ass for playing dirty and then let her go. Now she's in Chiraq playing dirty along with Reese and they both got into a heated argument when they lost that 1st game to New York and there was a 2nd heated argument that also involved Cardosa after the 2nd consecutive loss to New York that ended Reese's stat padding double double. Yet, in real life, I follow Mabrey on social media. Reese and in particular Carter feature ALOT in her posts/videos. She veritably lathers Carter with affection in every one. Reese too. Marina is a shooter and the change in coach frustrated her because her role was changed. She made that clear and that there was no personality issue. I wouldn't take this guy seriously. She was very frustrated, sky fans on social media noticed that from the beginning. Mabrey was brought in by the previous GM who had a completely different plan for the sky. She was expecting to be on a “win now” team but realized that she was stuck on a rebuilding team. Also her talking about the lack of composure from the rookies is ironic considering that the sky could’ve been 12-12 if Marina didn’t miss her free throws in many of their close games. I agree that her play style didn’t suit the sky at all, I think that atl & Seattle game that you pointed out proves that. It doesn’t go unnoticed that angel and chennedy had a great game especially in Seattle. I think that’s when she realized that she wouldn’t fit in to who they’re building this team around (angel, kamilla, chenn) and it looks like dana is in the same position too.

I'm a "day-one" Sun fan and long-time season ticket holder. I know the window is closing on this group, and I'm all for Sun management going all-in to get to the promised land. The addition of Mabrey has the potential to improve the team BUT will it be enough AND I worry about chemistry. Banham, though not as skilled as Mabrey is a great teammate and glue player. Jefferson also is a positive locker room player and is always pumping up her teammates. It is obvious that Carrington and Maybrey have a ton of unpleasant history behind them and that will be tough to put aside. The Sun orbits around AT. Will Marina be OK with being a 3rd or fourth option on offense? Will she dig in and play the kind of elite defense that the Sun demand? AT, DB and MM all have a habit of confronting referees and (with Carrington) opponents. Will this become a side-show of distraction and technical fouls? Desperate times demand desperate actions. I guess we'll see... GO SUN!!

It’s unfortunate that injury has dictated the starting lineup for Chicago. I doubt that the 2 rookies would have needed to be so impactful had injuries not been a factor. Add to that Mabrey “gave it a chance” but I don’t think she bought in mentally. It seems like she peaked in preseason. Maybe she got more disheartened after Williams’ injury, but as a pro and a vet on the team she needed to be the vocal leader and the go-to player. She had the opportunity to win a couple of games with her free throws and came up short both times. After that her 3 ball started failing her. I think the team has done well adjusting considering she hasn’t been a scorer and the injuries. Mabrey could have been one of the key pieces for Chicago, but at this stage I guess it’s clear that the championship is not the main focus for the team, and thus she decided she wanted out.

This is a hypocritical video because you can make an argument that Marina has the worse composure on the team. She always upset at the refs and other players on the team. If you ACTUALLY been WATCHING and PAYING ATTENTION. Angel has been the best leader on team. And that's bad that a rookie is your best leader and the vet is the one with terrible composure. And another point if you've been watching you know Maybrey has lost about 4 games at the freethrow line. 1 game against Washington and a few days later against Indiana she missed free throws at the end of both of those games and we lost due to that. And Angel was the one who was encouraging her and other players saying that it's ok and that's not the reason we lost when Maybrey was down on her self. So to paint the narrative that Angel couldn't keep her composure is low hanging fruit. And frankly not true.

Chicago is not mentally focused on winning, there are politics in the way. I will go as far as saying that I don't think that Chennedy Carter is happy there either. I get the feeling winning is also an important factor for her as well.

I get the impression Angle Reese is all about Angle Reese. Seems she wants to be treated like a superstar and be the center of attention in the entire WNBA. This seems to be bordering on narcissism. At the end of the All-Star game, she was the only player to barge uninvited into the broadcast booth for special TV exposure. Her envy and brutal, flagrant fouls on her percevied rival are troubeling.

What?!! Angle and Caitlin worked most of their young lives to be superstars. Angle Reese started the competition with Clark just to stay relevant and steal some of her shine. Thugs in basketball uniforms assaulting ("physicality") when they are getting a whooping isn't basketball; it is more like roller derby, and indeed, that's why nobody watched the WNBA before Clark came.

Another great analysis. My favorite WBB channel. I agree that part of this was the probably the things you mentioned: composure, veteran play and style of play. I think maybe, just maybe-she felt a bit on the "outs" with Angel and Chennedy becoming pretty tight? Maybe. Or should I say Mabrey? 🙄 But seriously folks......I think the style of play might've been the biggest part of it. IMO-the Sky style is kind of a run and gun thing, and I feel (I'll probably get some flak about this) that they should use both Angel and esp Kamilla in a more post up, slow down, kick it out to shooters role. I know that this isn't what the powers that be want-in both the NBA and WNBA. They want to see full court passes for dunks/layups, lots of threes from screens and step backs etc. The Steph Curry/CC thing. To me, Mabrey's game is more suited for a slow down, halfcourt game, passing to the open player for a shot, or drive. This (from what I've seen) isn't happening as much. Kamilla is almost as a decoy for Angel or vice versa. To me, Angel can bring her game out a bit, shoot mids/drive, or fake, drive. etc. That's kind of what Connecticut is doing. They pass into to Breezy and she posts, (and now she's starting to hit mids too) and either makes her move or passes to a cutter or a shooter. AT does the same. It's a grind out game. I think Marina would fit in there really well. I hope she does. I have come to like her more. I think many have seen that Marina "transformation" video where she talks about how she's changed her whole outlook on life and the game. I think she's definitely not the same Marina as we've seen in other collections of videos where she's talking ____to other players and getting into it physically with other players. I think she's still competitive, but just not to the point where everything is a verbal battle. I think her and Dijonai, Dewanna, AT and Breezy are going to be great together. I think their style fits her game better. I wish them luck, even as I am a staunch Liberty fan.

Huh???? Just a few questions… 1- You said that “Chicago’s hand was forced when copper demanded to be traded…”; when Actually, Chicago’s hand was forced when Candace left and Wade also left. That left copper with little to no choice because the organization did not seem to have a plan or at least a plan that she agreed with. so why leave those parts out? 2- Did you steal this title from Quita Loves Sports?… I hope not bc I really like you content. But it does seem VERY similar at glance to the content she dropped 4 days ago. 3- I agree that Mabry threw Angel and Carter under the bus in that press conference. However, I don’t know that you mentioned the level of hypocrisy that it took for her to do so… She is known for mouthing off and throwing tantrums… Even in getting in arguments with other players(which is why, and Mabry on the same team is going to be interesting to say the least) what do you think about that?
@back2sports

1. Wade decided to try to compete after CP left. So not sure what CP has to do with this. But as said in video rookie rebuild was on after copper left. 2 did not watch Q's video or title as stay away from other content for that reason. I thought title was pretty basic. 3 this was not a who was right or wrong - it was really just looking at why Mabrey wanted out.

I'm a casual observer, who was drawn to the WNBA because of the CC coverage. So, the algorithm somehow found your channel. This was a good video; I liked the telling nature of their body language. Granted I'm new to female basketball, but the one thing I've noticed about the girls in their press conferences is they look like they don't want to be there. They all look down at the table, they all seem like there's a lot of animosity and drama bubbling under the surface. It's like their walking on eggshells, dealing with each other. That goes for the other teams as well. Maybe, it's just me. However, I'm a huge UFC fan, and those girls at the UFC have real confidence. The don't give a f*ck. The difference is hilarious. Those UFC women stare-down the reporters, they own the room, they attack the question and dare anyone to challenge them. It's really something to see, compared to how the basketball girls act. I think I know why. The UFC girls physically fight each other, instead of forming clicks and whisper networks. For example, in one famous incident, the UFC girls were all together at a company function, and one started shit posting about another girl she didn't like, seconds later, they brawled and fought it out right there in the UFC offices, wearing high heels and dresses. Ha, true story. The shit posting stopped.

The video was not about if Mabrey was choking at end of games or if she was playing bad. I think that is pretty obvious. It was about why she asked to be traded - I think in her mind she thinks she is playing bad as sky style of play does not fit her her style. Hence she wants out and go where she feels she can play well. As well she did not sign up with Wade to play with rebuilding team as Wade himself said F _ _ _ _ rebuilding. Things change. Wade jumped ship, then copper. Now Mabrey. Sky did well as got some picks back and they got Mabrey 200k contract off books. Win win IMO
