None of this makes sense. The Fed did QE and lowered interest rates for over decade, causing little inflation (allegedly). Why would doing the reverse affect inflation? Median house price to salary ratio has tripled throughout the western world (not just the US), yet people are paid too much? How are wages driving inflation? The only explanation is that homes and assets are over-valued and this has trickled into the “real” economy- in which case the solution isn’t to decrease employment, but to decrease home prices.

The problem is wages are chasing prices not prices chasing wages. is either hyperinflation ( on countries such U S when you get paid 2 DIGIT BY HOUR is a real danger). What will they choose. As fast as it went up, as fast it will deflate) creating a crisis on the other extreme.

@@thisbarb Yes, it was a combination of FED policy and government (non Fed) spending. I read it was a $4.8 trillion increase to the FED balance sheet and $5.2 trillion fiscal response over the 2 years.

This is stupid. Is there no counter analysis, or at least some more reasoning? What if investors decided more jobs was helpful, would the stock market go up because of the reactive nature of stock prices?

We need higher unemployment at the Fed.Start there. Let's see how well they like increasing unemployment.

Yes!. Minimizing labor shortages do reduce Inflation.
